  • Patent number: 7839566
Abstract: A surgical microscopy system having an illumination system is provided. The illumination system comprises a xenon gas discharge lamp and a spectral filter which is optionally positionable into an illumination beam path of the surgical microscopy system and removable from the same. The spectral filter substantially exhibits, in a wavelength range between 400 nm and 700 nm, a transmission increasing from about 0.12 to 1 having a gradient between 0.025/nm and 0.0035/nm, in particular 0.00293/nm. Thus, the illumination system is enabled to provide light having two different spectral characteristics which is advantageous in particular for imaging structures in the human eye scattering to a different degree.

  • Publication number: 20100287298
Abstract: Datacasting systems may include one or more compound carousels each managing one or more elementary carousels, and managed by a bandwidth manager. Subsets of compounds carousels may be identified, for example, according to priority levels. Bandwidth allocations may be determined for the compound carousels. For example, the bandwidth manager may utilize multiple bandwidth allocation cycles to determine the bandwidth allocations. The multiple bandwidth allocation cycles may form a sequence. Each bandwidth allocation cycle may at least partially allocate an available datacasting bandwidth resource to at least one of the identified subsets of the compound carousels. The allocations may be based at least in part on desired bandwidths determined by the compound carousels and/or one or more bandwidth guidelines of datacast sessions associated with the compound carousels.

  • Publication number: 20100252851
Abstract: A light emitter package having increased feature sizes for improved luminous flux and efficacy. An emitter chip is disposed on a submount with a lens that covers the emitter chip. In some cases, the ratio of the width of the light emitter chip to the width of said lens in a given direction is 0.5 or greater. Increased feature sizes allow the package to emit light more efficiently. Some packages include submounts having dimensions greater than 3.5 mm square used in conjunction with larger emitter chips. Materials having higher thermal conductivities are used to fabricate the submounts, providing the package with better thermal management.

  • Publication number: 20100233444
Abstract: A composition comprising a polymer which contains hydroxyl groups, the composition being suitable as a coating for an IR-imagable lithographic precursor, the composition comprising one or more agent(s) which: a) absorbs IR radiation of wavelength greater than 800 nm and consequently generates heat; b) functions as an insolubiliser which inhibits dissolution of non-imaged regions of the coating in a developer but permits dissolution of imaged regions during development; and c) improves the inhibition to dissolution of the non-imaged regions and/or the dissolution of the imaged regions so as to improve the dissolution contrast ratio (DCR) of the non-imaged/imaged regions; wherein the agent which performs function c) comprises a moiety which has hydrophobic and ionic character. Such a composition can show excellent selectivity as regards dissolution rates in developer, as between the imaged and non-imaged areas, whilst the energy needed to achieve this differentiation (or “operating speed”) is not comprised.
