Abstract: An analytical system and method for periodically monitoring an injection water distribution pipeline for the presence and concentration of formaldehyde or other aldehyde-functional biocide includes pumps, one of which provides a predetermined volume of injection water drawn from the pipeline at a sampling point and the other a predetermined volume of a reagent, preferably a buffered solution of dimedone, from a reagent storage vessel which are mixed and then heated in a chamber to a predetermined temperature to promote formation of any reaction products. The heated reaction mixture is passed to a detection cell and exposed to light of predetermined wavelength which, in accordance with the Hantzsch reaction, molecules having an aldehyde functional group that reacted with dimedone produce a fluorescence-emitting reaction product, the intensity of which is measured and compared to data previously obtained from standard aldehyde-containing solutions.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to, among other things, managing browsing histories based at least in part on metadata and/or tags associated with a web request. In some examples, a web service may collect metadata associated with the web request. Based at least in part on the collected metadata, content tags associated with the web request may be identified. Additionally, in some examples, one or more browsing metrics may be generated. The browsing metric may be configured to identify at least a web request characteristic to be compared with a second web request characteristic.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for replicating a data container of a source storage server at the logical level in an unordered stream of individual data units are described. In certain embodiments, the replication operations can be performed without regard to the differences in geometry of physical persistent storage of the source and destination storage servers and without regard to the differences in data container format of the source and destination storage servers. An initial replication operation of the source data container is performed by transferring the data objects within the source data container to a replica data container in the destination storage server as an unordered stream of individual data units while preserving data object identifiers of the source data objects. Afterwards, incremental replication operations can be performed to capture modifications to the source data container over time after the initial replication operation.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of cooling a tip of an airfoil for a gas turbine engine, includes a rib circumscribing the tip to define a tip plenum. A tip baffle partially divides the tip plenum, being spaced from the rib by a baffle slot. The rib includes a tip slot in fluid communication with the baffle slot to provide a flow of cooling fluid along the tip of the airfoil for exhausting out the tip slot.

Abstract: A server determines that a software update is available for a computing device and creates a software bundle that includes the software update. In the software bundle, the server includes instructions to install the software bundle in a user partition of a memory of the computing device that is used to store content and applications and to modify a path variable in an operating system of the computing device to include a location in which the software bundle is installed. The server enables the computing device to download the software bundle.

Abstract: A slot antenna comprising a conductor, a principal slot, a feed point and one or more side slots is provided. The conductor has an axis defining a first conductor side and a second conductor side. The principal slot extends longitudinally within the conductor along the axis. The feed point comprises a first coupling point and a second coupling point respectively located on the first and second conductor sides. The one or more side slots extend from the principal slot. The slot antenna has a reduced physical length compared to the length of a typical slot antenna at the same frequency of operation. Electronic device comprising a ground plane and one or more slot antenna is provided. The one or more slot antennas are mounted on the ground plane.

Abstract: Aspects of adaptive topic marker navigation are described. According to one feature, an adaptive topic is established and associated with a marker. The adaptive topic may be initially established based on a user's history of browsing activity. Over time, a change in status associated with the adaptive topic is monitored. The change in status may be associated with a change in purchase history of the user, a change in geographic location of the user, or a change in content associated with the active topic, for example. In response to the change in status, a query associated with the adaptive topic may be updated and performed, to provide an updated collection of content for the adaptive topic. In another feature, a navigation page including static and active topic markers may be reorganized over time according to a relevancy of adaptive topics, to provide an adaptive navigation page for the user.

Abstract: A process for removing sulphur dioxide from the gaseous effluent of a smelter furnace comprising the steps of: providing the gaseous effluent from a smelter; separating the sulphur dioxide from the gaseous effluent to provide concentrated sulphur dioxide and effluent for discharge into the atmosphere; mixing the concentrated sulphur dioxide with a fuel gas; heating the mixture such that the concentrated sulphur dioxide and fuel gas react to form a gaseous product mixture comprising sulphur and hydrogen sulphide; and removing the majority of preferably substantially all of the sulphur and hydrogen sulphide from the gaseous product mixture; wherein the remaining gaseous product mixture is incinerated before being vented into the atmosphere or is recycled into the smelter furnace.

A definition of one or more sets of users is stored. The server stores an association with a respective set of browser policies for the one or more sets of users. A request is received from a client browser associated with a user, wherein the client browser is configured to communicate with the server browser engine. The server determines which set of users the user is associated with. The server identifies a first set of browser policies that is associated with the determined set of users and applies the identified first set of browser policies to the request. A determination is made, for one or more browser processes, which browser processes are to be executed by the server browser engine and which browser processes are to be executed by the client browser.

Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle involves displaying a first assistance graphic of a first active driver assistance system in a first display mode on at least one display device of the motor vehicle when the motor vehicle is operated in a first driving mode, and displaying the first assistance graphic of the first active driver assistance system in a second display mode on the at least one display device when the motor vehicle is operated in a second driving mode that is different from the first driving mode. The first assistance graphic is displayed in a first perspective in the first display mode and is displayed in a second perspective, which is different from the first perspective, in the second display mode.

Abstract: Aspects of expanded icon navigation are described. In one example, the hierarchical structure of a network site accessible over a computer network is indexed to generate an indexed zone hierarchy of the network site. Access across the indexed zone hierarchy of the network site is monitored to assemble a collection of accessed resources on the network site. A resource at the network site is registered as a marked resource, and a marked resource anchor associated with the marked resource is generated. A number of branches of the marked resource anchor are them populated for the network site based on the indexed zone hierarchy of the network site, the marked resource, and the collection of accessed resources.

Further, a collection of accessed locations is assembled according to traced access across the indexed hierarchical structure, network pages, or files. The access across the indexed hierarchical structure, network pages, or files may be traced over a period of time. In other aspects, the one or more marked locations are categorized among the collection of accessed locations to provide an assimilated set of locations, and one or more anchors are established. Further, at least one branch of the one or more anchors is populated.

Abstract: Techniques and solutions are described for detecting potential problems with web pages. For example, a web page can be analyzed (e.g., during loading of the web page) to determine statistics, such as size and structure statistics. The web page can be compared, using the statistics, to a statistical model representing the web page to determine if the web page is consistent with the statistical model. The statistical model can be created from previous page loads of the web page. Problems such as web page spoofing can be detected if the same web page content (e.g., content with a high degree of statistical similarity) is obtained from two different web sites. For example, a web page that is retrieved from one web site that matches a statistical model representing the same web page from another web site can indicate a spoofed web page.

Abstract: Applications executing on mobile client devices may access remote resources via network connections. Operational capabilities and financial costs of these connections may differ. Developers, network administrators, and other parties may wish to moderate usage of various available conditions to conform to business rules. Connectivity information including one or more network grants are integrated into an application received from a developer at ingestion by an application management server, which accesses those business rules. The client devices may coordinate with a proxy server to provide additional controls. Networking public interfaces provide the developer with a simplified pathway for development of applications which use network connections, particularly on mobile devices.

Abstract: Features are disclosed for enabling users to efficiently store and share browsing sessions or portions thereof with other users or the general public. Browsing session requests and other activities may be sent to an intermediary system, which can retrieve requested content and store a representation of the requested content or data regarding the requested content. The stored data may be organized as a saved browsing session such that users may access the shared browsing session at a subsequent time and view the browsing session substantially in its entirety. Users may search for shared browsing sessions and access data regarding the requests made during a browsing session. In addition, data regarding client devices used during shared browsing sessions may be tracked and associated with the shared browsing sessions such that subsequent users can search for shared browsing sessions based partly on such device characteristics.

The system includes a display configured to provide a plurality of panels, each panel associated with a document in a datacenter, wherein the datacenter comprises an architecture having a plurality of hierarchy layers, each hierarchy layer storing at least a document; a memory storing commands; and a processor coupled to the display and configured to execute the commands to cause the graphical user interface to navigate through the datacenter architecture by: receiving a first user gesture to access a first hierarchy layer in the datacenter; receiving a second user gesture to access a second hierarchy layer in the datacenter; and displaying in the display a visual effect when at least one of the first hierarchy layer and the second hierarchy layers are accessed. Abstract: Features are disclosed for enabling users to select portions of content pages, including predefined portions and arbitrarily defined portions, for which to receive update notifications or which to share with other users. Notifications regarding updates to the selected portions may be displayed to the user in a notification overlay. The notification overlay may be at least partially transparent so as to allow users to see content on a content page displayed beneath the overlay. The notification overlay may be displayed persistently as the user navigates or otherwise transitions from page to page. Users may also access shared, predefined, and context-sensitive notification overlays created by other users, entities, or automated processes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of xenon in the preparation of a medicament for preventing and/or alleviating one or more anesthetic-induced neurological deficits in a neonatal subject. The present invention further relates to combinations of xenon and sevoflurane, and use thereof as preconditioning agents for administration prior to hypoxic-ischaemic injury.
