Publication number: 20140109970Abstract: The cone plug valve includes a valve body, a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, a valve stem, and a cone supported on the valve stem. The metal cone is rotatably separate from the valve stem but moves axially in response to axially movement of the valve stem. A seat is fixably positioned within the valve body for sealing engagement with the cone, which has a sealing surface extending outward from the cone shaped exterior surface for sealing with the seat to close off flow through the valve body.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2012Publication date: April 24, 2014Applicant: PGI INTERNATIONAL, LTD.Inventor: Peter Mark Middleton

Publication number: 20140095741Abstract: Restoring retired transaction identifiers (TID) associated with Direct Memory Access (DMA) commands without waiting for all DMA traffic to terminate is disclosed. A scoreboard is used to track retired TIDs and selectively restore retired TIDs on the fly. DMA engines fetch a TID, and use it to tag every DMA request. If the request is completed, the TID can be recycled to be used to tag a subsequent request. However, if a request is not completed, the TID is retired. Retired TIDs can be restored without having to wait for DMA traffic to end. Any retired TID value may be mapped to a bit location inside a scoreboard. All processors in the system may have access to read and clear the scoreboard. Clearing the TID scoreboard may trigger a DMA engine to restore the TID mapped to that location, and the TID may be used again.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 2, 2013Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: Emulex Design & Manufacturing CorporationInventors: Daming Jin, Vuong Cao Nguyen, Sam Shan-Jan Su, John Sui-Kei Tang, Peter Mark Fiacco

Patent number: 8631670Abstract: A lock for a sliding door or window including a latching linkage and an inner manual lever, that allows movement of the latching linkage between a locked and an unlocked position by means of the manual lever and by operation of a inside or outside key barrel, but also allows deadlocking of the latching linkage in its locked position so that operation of the manual lever to unlock the latching linkage is prevented. It is however, desirable that the lock be operable to lock the lock from the inside by a convenient operation of the manual lever when the user is inside the house. It is further desirable that the door is able to be deadlocked by a key from the inside or the outside in a manner that prevents unlocking of the door by the manual handle, since a house owner may find it inconvenient to have to walk around the outside of their house locking the doors.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2009Date of Patent: January 21, 2014Assignee: Ingersoll-Rand Architectural Hardware LimitedInventors: Edward Norton Sieglaar, Peter Mark Hill

Patent number: 8536693Abstract: A tiered integrated circuit (IC) assembly includes stacks of a limited number of ICs coupled to each other and arranged in a first direction across a base tier and a second tier. The base tier includes ICs and a data bridge. Each of the ICs includes a respective array of through silicon vias (TSVs) arranged in parallel with the first direction. The data bridge includes submicron metal interconnects (densely spaced electrical conductors) arranged in a plane that is substantially orthogonal to the first direction. The second tier is adjacent to the base tier and includes respective high-performance ICs different from the ICs of the base tier. The TSVs provide power and ground paths to the ICs in the second tier. In an example embodiment, the ICs in the second tier support one or more data bridges for connecting adjacent stacks.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2010Date of Patent: September 17, 2013Assignee: Avago Technologies General IP (Singapore) Pte. Publication number: 20130148885Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to the determination of the colour of a colour sample from an image of the colour sample. In one embodiment a colour sample capture card is provided having printed thereon colour samples of known colour (for example, XYZ tri-stimulus values). An image of the test colour sample is then captured using domestically available equipment, such as a consumer digital camera or camera-equipped mobile telephone, the image also containing the colour sample capture card. In one embodiment the image is then transmitted to a remote colour determination service for colour sample colour determination. Regression analysis is then performed using the RGB colour samples in the image and known XYZ colours thereof to characterise the colour capture response of the image capture device. Having characterised the image capture device the XYZ colour of the unknown colour sample can be determined from the RGB colour thereof in the image.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2011Publication date: June 13, 2013Applicant: AKZO NOBEL COATINGS INTERNATIONAL B.V.Inventors: Benjamin Buchanan Lings, Paul James Harrop, Peter Mark Spiers, Steward Longhurst

Publication number: 20130116486Abstract: The invention relates to a retarder composition for the control of unwanted polymerisation reactions during the production and processing of ethylenically unsaturated compounds, the composition comprising at least one di-substituted quinone compound and at least one hydroxylamine compound. Optionally, the composition also comprises at least one stable free radical nitroxyl compound and one or more formulation adjuvants. The invention also envisages a process stream comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound, and a method for the prevention of unwanted polymerisation reactions during the production and processing of ethylenically unsaturated compounds. The composition has been found to be far more effective than expected, given that the individual components show little or no efficacy when used alone, and poses much less hazard to humans than the compositions of the prior art.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2011Publication date: May 9, 2013Applicant: NUFARM UK LIMITEDInventors: Colin Loyns, Andrew Nigel Fawbert, Angela Jane Glossop, Peter Mark Price

Patent number: 8184046Abstract: A time reference system for generating a time reference from signals produced by a global navigation satellite constellation has a satellite signal receiver to receive and down-convert code-modulated signals from a plurality of satellites and a correlator to track and decode the down-converted signals to provide signals containing partial pseudo-range measurements for respective satellites. A data processing arrangement receives assistance data from an external source and performs data-bit synchronization in which bit edges of a low frequency data bit stream carried by the received satellite signals are identified, to perform a preliminary position-velocity-time solution to provide an approximate time reference, and to perform auto-correlation of pre-selected data sequences in the data stream to resolve time ambiguities thereby to compute a precise time reference signal in weak received signal conditions.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2009Date of Patent: May 22, 2012Assignee: ST-Ericsson SAInventors: Jacqueline Peta Bickerstaff, Esther Olulu Anyaegbu, Peter Mark Fleming, Gerald Whitworth
