  • Publication number: 20040015314
Abstract: A system and a method for functionally testing fast semiconductor memory chips. The data shifting method proposed here is based on the fact that a low speed tester writes data and data strobe test patterns to a memory block with a low clock frequency. The connection between the tester and the memory chip is subsequently disconnected for all the data and data strobe lines. This can be done by a relay or integrated circuits on an external circuit board or by test modes in the output circuit of the memory chip, that is to say on-chip. The data and data strobe lights are subsequently divided into two groups of the same size and connected to one another. The data and data strobe test pattern written to the first memory block is then shifted with a high clock frequency into a second memory block, from where it is then shifted back into the first memory block in a further read-write cycle with the high clock frequency.

  • Publication number: 20030177418
Abstract: A method for testing an electronic module having a memory cell device includes writing an information item to the memory cell device at a first clock frequency and then reading-out the information item from the memory cell device at a second clock frequency. The read out information item is reflected at a reflection point and is written back to the memory cell device at the second clock frequency. The reflected information unit is then read-out from the memory cell device wiht the first clock frequency.

  • Publication number: 20010037811
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for determining the circumference of a finger or toe joint, in particular a proximal interphalangeal joint, to be evaluated in the context of an arthritis examination of an examination subject, the joint is irradiated using a light source and at least one two-dimensional projection image is recorded using a camera apparatus. From the projection image, the diameter of the joint is determined by means of an automatic edge detection method, and the circumference is calculated on the basis of the diameter. Additionally, a diaphanoscopic examination of the joint can be made with the same apparatus, and the results combined with the diameter information to identify or monitor a degree or progress of the inflamation.

  • Patent number: 5979701
Abstract: A sheet brake improves laying sheets off onto a stack in the take-off unit of a sheet-fed rotary printing press. The sheet brake is provided with a crank drive that generates a back-and-forth stroke by way of a synchronized drive mechanism at the rate traveled by the sheets. The rear portion of each sheet is forced by suction against a suction strip provided on the brake so that the sheet is braked while being stretched and then lowered onto the top of the stack. The suction strip has a groove arranged such that the sheet is braked and stretched as the suction strip works in conjunction with an operation of a take over gripper to accurately guide the sheet to the stack.

  • Patent number: 5943459
Abstract: An optical duplexer, configured as a directional coupler, is integrated into an optical coupling arrangement with a fiber optic pigtail, constructed in planar-optical hybrid technology on a substrate (1). To reduce the required surface area and decrease optical cross talk, the branch of the directional coupler (waveguide 6, branch 7) is sharply bent. The bend is equipped with a reflecting mirror (11) integrated opposite the inner edge (10) of the bend. Furthermore, the waveguiding end of the bent branch (7) is equipped with a cylindrical lens. A laser diode (8) is located before this, and a photodiode (5) is located before the angled end of the straight-line integrated waveguide (2).

  • Patent number: 5598779
Abstract: A sheet-guiding apparatus for a turning device in a rotary printing machine guides a sheet being printed to prevent smearing. The turning device includes a turning drum and at least one sheet-guiding cylinder. The turning drum and the sheet-guiding cylinder define a sheet transfer region and a sheet transfer path. The sheet-guiding apparatus comprises an air blower means, at least one blower/suction device, and a lower sheet-guiding device. The air blower means, which is arranged upstream of the sheet transfer region, includes a first set of air outlet openings for directing compressed air toward the sheet-guiding cylinder and at least a second air outlet opening for directing compressed air into the transfer region. The blower/suction device, which is disposed within the sheet-bearing surface of the turning drum, communicates with a plurality of openings disposed in the sheet-bearing surface and is coupled to a pneumatic device.

  • Patent number: 5322012
Abstract: A method and system are provided for aligning the lateral edge of sheets fed to a printing press. The lateral position of a sheet is detected. A slidable suction device beneath the sheet is operated to pull the sheet toward a lateral abutment at a constant speed, the suction being applied at an individual time for each sheet in accordance with the detected position. Suction pressure is released when the sheet reaches the side lay, such that suction pressure is only applied for the time necessary to place the sheet in proper registration.

  • Patent number: 5261654
Abstract: A sheet conveyor table for delivering sheets from a printing press has upper and lower portions. The lower portion is secured adjacent a delivery unit of the printing press and the upper portion is releasably attached to the lower portion through a swivel joint and catch coupling. An endless conveyor belt is trained about a pair of guide rollers and a tensioning roller on the upper portion for continuous movement imparted by the rotational force of a drive wheel mounted on the lower portion of the table. A guide plate extends substantially parallel and closely adjacent the conveyor path for guiding sheet materials during transfer. A wedge-shaped suction aperture in the guide plate is adapted for communication with a vacuum source, thereby creating a downwardly directed suction force for braking and guiding the sheet materials during transfer.
