  • Publication number: 20200228321
Abstract: An online identity can be verified based on data from multiple identity sources stored in a blockchain. For example, a request for a token is received from an entity for authenticating an online identity of the entity to an online service. The request can be stored in a blockchain that represents the online identity of the entity by adding a new block to the blockchain. The new block can include data indicating the request for the token. The token can be generated based on the one or more ordered blocks in the blockchain. The token can be transmitted to the entity. The token can be received from the online service. Confirmation of the online identity of the entity can be transmitted to the online service based on receiving the token from the online service.

  • Patent number: 10636439
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to data storage devices, and more specifically, to a magnetic media drive employing a magnetic recording head. The head includes a trailing shield, a main pole, a MAMR stack disposed between the trailing shield and the main pole, side shields surrounding at least a portion of the main pole, and a structure disposed between the side shields and the main pole at a media facing surface (WS). The structure is fabricated from a material that is thermally conductive and electrically insulating/dissipative. The material has a thermal conductivity of at least 50 W/(m*K) and an electrical resistivity of at least 105 ?*m. The structure helps dissipate joule heating generated from either the main pole or the MAMR stack into surrounding area without electrical shunting, leading to reduced heating or break-down induced failures.

  • Publication number: 20190279662
Abstract: A magnetic recording write head includes a spin torque oscillator (STO) between the write pole and trailing shield and an extended seed layer on the write pole beneath the STO. The seed layer has a cross-track width greater than the width of the STO and a depth in a direction orthogonal to the disk-facing surface of the write pole greater than the depth of the STO. A first insulating refill layer is formed on the sides of the extended seed layer and STO and a second insulating refill layer in contact with the first refill layer has a thermal conductivity greater than that of the first refill layer. When current is passing through the STO the extended seed layer spreads the current to reduce heating of the write pole and STO and the bilayer refill material facilitates the transfer of heat away from the write pole and STO.

  • Publication number: 20190279663
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to data storage devices, and more specifically, to a magnetic media drive employing a magnetic recording head. The head includes a main pole at a media facing surface (MFS), a trailing shield at the MFS, and a heavy metal layer disposed between the main pole and the trailing shield at the MFS. Spin-orbit torque (SOT) is generated from the heavy metal layer and transferred to a surface of the main pole as a current passes through the heavy metal layer in a cross-track direction. The SOT executes a torque on the surface magnetization of the main pole, which reduces the magnetic flux shunting from the main pole to the trailing shield. With the reduced magnetic flux shunting from the main pole to the trailing shield, write-ability is improved.

  • Publication number: 20190180868
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for optimizing emergency department resource management. During operation, a system receives a set of parameters that is associated with a patient entering an emergency department. The system analyzes the set of parameters in a machine learning module to determine (1) a calculated acuity score that indicates an estimated severity of illness for the patient and (2) a set of workload predictions that predict a set of resources that will be needed to treat the patient in the emergency department. The system then uses the acuity score and the workload predictions to assign a set of predicted tasks that are associated with treating the patient into the work queues of the emergency department.
