  • Publication number: 20190311608
Abstract: A method of detecting intrusion events including at least two different event types which have different characteristics of frequency and time comprises providing a sensor responsive changes in a medium generated by a potential intrusion event with the sensor generating an output signal indicative of the changes in the medium, analyzing the signal to determine changes in amplitude so as to detect the change in amplitude of the detection signal as a function of time, and performing at least one of: (i) in the frequency domain, carrying out a frequency analysis of the signal from the sensor and dividing the frequency analysis into separate sections which are selected so as to correspond to the characteristic frequencies for each event type, or (ii) the algorithm requiring the presence or absence of a time domain step function.

  • Publication number: 20190295048
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to enhanced check processing systems with improved check validation features and enhanced information security. A computing platform may determine whether a correlation between source data and metadata associated with a check exceeds a predetermined correlation threshold. Based on determining that the correlation does not exceed the predetermined correlation threshold, the computing platform may direct an OCR computing system to perform character recognition on the check. Then, the computing platform may determine whether a discrepancy between the metadata and an OCR output from the OCR computing system exceeds a predetermined resolution threshold. In response to determining that the discrepancy between the OCR output and the metadata does not exceed the predetermined resolution threshold, the computing platform may update stored records associated with the check.

  • Patent number: 10413700
Abstract: A procedure kit that removably retains components to be used during a medical procedure, such as the insertion of a catheter into a patient, is disclosed. The procedure kit is securable to a surface or structure such that the kit is positioned as desired by the clinician, thus minimizing chances that the kit will fall to the ground or undesirably move. In one embodiment, the procedure kit comprises a body defining a plurality of pockets that are sized to removably receive therein components for use in the medical procedure, an openable flap that covers at least a portion of the pockets; and an adhesive portion included on a portion of the body to enable the procedure kit to be secured to a structure or surface proximate to the patient, such as the sterile drape covering the patient.

  • Publication number: 20190263978
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure relates to processes involving a two-component resin system to provide a composite matrix binder. The first component may be a liquid reactive diluent, like an epoxidized vegetable oil, and the second component may be a solid, powdered polymer component, like a carboxylic functional acrylic or polyester, that may react with the liquid component. The liquid component may wet and coat the filler materials, while the powdered resin may soften/melt at higher temperatures below its threshold reactive temperature, thus allowing it to flow, diffuse and mix with the liquid component. This facilities processing and allows use of higher molecular weight resins and/or a higher Tg polymers without solvent use. When used in stone composite formulations with fillers like quartz and/or titanium dioxide, example resulting products have high hardness, very low water absorption, and high mechanical strength along with stain, chemical, and heat resistance.

  • Patent number: 10388128
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting intrusion into an optical cable of a single mode optical fiber network comprising where monitoring light signals are transmitted along a telecommunications optical fiber to be monitored either along a fiber additional to a data fiber or by multiplexing onto a common fiber. The received monitoring light signals after transmission along the telecommunications optical fiber are analyzed for changes indicative of movement of the optical fiber for detecting an intrusion event. The monitoring light signals at the receive end of the fiber signals are monitored by feeding the signals from the single mode fiber into a multi-mode fiber in a manner which causes changes in modal power distribution which can be detected by taking a portion only of the modes.

  • Patent number: 10352504
Abstract: A system and method for detecting multiple incidents in a set of flow meter units attached to a set of water consuming units. A plurality of uniquely identified flow meter units are operatively connected to a central control unit. The control unit is programmable to send alerts based on leaking incident status of particular flow meter units so that a responder may receive the alert and timely address the alert. The central control receives and stores data from the multiple flow meter units, including volumetric flow, time, and status and location of each alert. A method of detecting leaking in a building having multiple separate units, each unit having a unit water supply, includes placing a specially configured controller having a flow meter and automatic shut-off valve in each unit of the building. Leak sensors are positioned in water-leak risk areas wherein the controller communicates with both the flow meter and the sensors. A communication is established in between the controller and the sensors.

  • Patent number: 10263696
Abstract: An optical fiber is monitored for changes in a monitor signal caused when the fiber is subjected to vibration, motion, or handling typical of an intrusion attempt and for triggering an alarm condition in response by one or more sensors. The sensor emits data on each disturbance event including the existence of the disturbance event and a value associated with the disturbance event dependent on an intensity of the disturbance. The arrangement herein provides an algorithm to analyze the disturbance events which calculates for each event a score dependent on the presence of the event and the value associated with the event, generates a summation of the scores in a FIFO and when the summation of the scores exceeds a predetermined threshold within a predetermined time period, the processor emits a signal triggering the alarm condition.

  • Publication number: 20190071472
Abstract: The present invention is a DNA expression vector comprising: a toxP; a mutant toxO that blocks Fe-mediated regulation of gene expression; and a DNA sequence encoding a protein, wherein the toxP and the mutant toxO regulate expression of the DNA segment encoding the protein. It is preferred that DNA expression vectors of the present invention include DNA sequences encoding a signal peptide so that a protein expressed is attached to the signal peptide prior to processing. Novel proteins are produced off of the DNA expression vector of the present invention.
