  • Publication number: 20170135341
Abstract: A disinfecting cover for use in disinfecting a weight bearing upper surface of a resilient medical patient pressure redistribution support includes a thin barrier membrane drapable on top of the weight bearing upper surface of the resilient support, and a peripherally-extending edge terminating between the peripherally-extending side of the resilient support between the weight bearing upper surface and the bottom surface of the support. The thin barrier membrane comprises an anti-microbial disinfectant, and being non-fibrous, and impervious to the transfer of fluid from the first main surface to the second main surface. The thin barrier membrane comprises a thickness operable to maintain the weight distribution of a patient on the weight bearing upper surface of the resilient medical patient pressure redistribution support substantially the same compared to the weight distribution without the thin barrier membrane.

  • Publication number: 20170030528
Abstract: A system and method for detecting multiple incidents in a set of flow meter units attached to a set of water consuming units. A plurality of uniquely identified flow meter units are operatively connected to a central control unit. The control unit is programmable to send alerts based on leaking incident status of particular flow meter units so that a responder may receive the alert and timely address the alert. The central control receives and stores data from the multiple flow meter units, including volumetric flow, time, and status and location of each alert. A method of detecting leaking in a building having multiple separate units, each unit having a unit water supply, includes placing a specially configured controller having a flow meter and automatic shut-off valve in each unit of the building. Leak sensors are positioned in water-leak risk areas wherein the controller communicates with both the flow meter and the sensors. A communication is established in between the controller and the sensors.

  • Publication number: 20160218800
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting intrusion into optical fibers of a Passive Optical Network (PON) of the type which includes a multiplexing system at the head end for separating a data signal output at the head end to the plurality of fibers for supply to user end terminals and a data transmission system at each of the user end terminals for entering onto the fiber data as an optical signal. The method includes providing a monitor system having a transmitter at the head end and a monitor signal analysis system for analyzing changes in the optical monitor signal after transmission along the fiber for detecting an intrusion event. A monitor signal analysis system is provided at one or more user end terminals for detection and conversion of data from the analysis into a digital signal which is then transmitted from the user end terminals back to the head end using the data transmission system through the PON system or separately from the PON system.

  • Patent number: 9374157
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting movement indicative of intrusion events on optical drop fibers of a network where the individual drop fiber can be identified to locate the event. The method uses a monitor system at the network end and multiplexing the monitor signal along the individual fibers to the respective terminals. At each of the terminals, the monitor signal is returned unchanged or in modified form along the same or different fibers to the network end. At the network end the received monitor signals is analyzed for changes in said monitor signals indicative of movement. Which one or more of the drop fibers has triggered the alarm is determined by modifying the monitor signal in wavelength or polarization, or by applying a modulation at the source and/or at multiplexing and/or at returning so that the monitor signal of one drop fiber has a difference from the monitor signal of another drop fiber.

  • Publication number: 20160071220
Abstract: A computer-implement method may bundle insurance and financial products, and visually depict a current status for an application for each product within the bundle, such as applications related auto, home, life, or renters insurance, and/or vehicle loans. In one aspect, the method may determine a standard status icon or message for each product. A data server may receive a customer identification and selection of a first product offered, and determine a context of an application for the first product, wherein the context represents a state of progress of the application for the first product, and determine a standard status of the application corresponding to the context. The status is selected from a group of statuses standardized across two or more product lines sold by the company. The data server may further generate a status message including the status of the application and transmit the status message to a client device.
