Abstract: Customizable software provides assurances about the ability of an IP network to satisfy security, regulatory and availability requirements by comprehensive vulnerability and compliance assessment of IP networks through automated analysis of configurations of devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. The solution comprises three main approaches for testing of IP device configurations to eliminate errors that result in vulnerabilities or requirements compliance issues. The first two fall in to the “static constraint validation” category since they do not change significantly for each IP network, while the last approach involves incorporation of each specific IP network's policies/requirements. These approaches are complementary, and may be used together to satisfy all the properties described above. The first approach involves checking the configurations of devices for conformance to Best-Current-Practices provided by vendors (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20080172189
Abstract: A method includes receiving a first set of parameters associated with a subset of a plurality of die on a wafer subjected to testing. The first set of data is expanded to generate estimated values for the first set of parameters for at least one untested die not included in the subset. A die health metric is determined for at least a portion of the plurality of die based on the first set of parameters including the estimated values.

  • Patent number: 7401046
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of displaying option market information including establishing a communication link between a member computer and a central computer, accessing option trading data from the central computer through the member computer, and inputting at least one signal to the member computer. The signal represents either an underlying asset symbol or an option class symbol of an underlying asset. The method further includes generating a display page listing option trading information for a plurality of option series relating to at least one of the entered underlying asset symbol and the entered option class symbol, and displaying the plurality of option series on the display page such that the option series having a strike price approximately equal to the current trading price of the underlying asset is centrally positioned on the display page.

  • Patent number: 7400639
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture, wherein in one implementation of the method a memory buffer is allocated in a host memory by a protocol processor, wherein the host memory is comprised in a host that is coupled to a network adapter. A packet is processed initially at the network adapter to generate data for offloading to the memory buffer in the host. The generated data is offloaded by the protocol processor to the memory buffer in the host. The offloaded data is processed by the protocol processor.

  • Publication number: 20080168139
Abstract: A framework for facilitating collaborative interaction between users of a web application is presented. The framework provides persistence and sharing mechanisms for arbitrary application-defined objects. The sharing mechanism is coupled with a consistency mechanism that keeps client states consistent even when users perform conflicting operations. This framework is application-independent in that the persistence, sharing between clients and maintaining a consistent state among the clients is accomplished without the need for specific knowledge of the design of the web application. Thus, web developers can focus on the logic of the application and the UI, instead of spending time designing and implementing collaborative capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20080164512
Abstract: A semiconductor device has a semiconductor substrate that in turn has a top semiconductor layer portion and a major supporting portion under the top semiconductor layer portion. An interconnect layer is over the semiconductor layer. A memory array is in a portion of the top semiconductor layer portion and a portion of the interconnect layer. The memory is erased by removing at least a portion of the major supporting portion and, after the step of removing, applying light to the memory array from a side opposite the interconnect layer. The result is that the memory array receives light from the backside and is erased.

  • Publication number: 20080166136
Abstract: A unitary optical receiver assembly is formed to include a V-groove passively aligned with a first aspheric lens (the lens formed along a surface perpendicular to the V-groove). An optical fiber is disposed along the V-groove and is used to bring the received optical signal into the unitary assembly. Upon passing through the first aspheric lens, the received optical signal will intercept a 45° turning mirror wall that directs the signal downward, through a second aspheric lens (also molded in the unitary assembly), and then into a photosensitive device. Advantageously, the photosensitive device is disposed in passive alignment with the second aspheric lens, allowing for a received signal to be coupled from an incoming optical fiber to a photosensitive device without needing any type of active alignment therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20080162677
Abstract: A field-upgradeable database that is separable from system software contains information about mass storage devices that may be present in a storage array. When an uninitialized device is detected in the array, the field-upgradeable database is consulted to discover which non-standard functions the device supports, and one of the non-standard functions is activated. Software and systems using the field-upgradeable database in a storage server configuration are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 7395347
Abstract: Improved techniques are provided for detecting and correcting errors and skew in inter-cluster communications within computer systems having a plurality of multi-processor clusters. The local nodes of each cluster include a plurality of processors and an interconnection controller. Intra-cluster links are formed between the local nodes, including the interconnection controller, within a cluster. Inter-cluster links are formed between interconnection controllers of different clusters. Intra-cluster packets may be serialized and encapsulated as inter-cluster packets for transmission on inter-cluster links, preferably with link-layer encapsulation. Each inter-cluster packet may include a sequence identifier and error information computed for that packet. Clock data may be embedded in symbols sent on each bit lane of the inter-cluster links. Copies of transmitted inter-cluster packets may be stored until an acknowledgement is received.
