  • Patent number: 6917946
Abstract: A method and system for storing a plurality of filter rules in a computer system is disclosed. The plurality of filter rules uses at least one range of values in at least one dimension. The method and system include separating a portion of the plurality of filter rules into a plurality of pure subsets of filter rules. Each of the plurality of pure subsets of filter rules includes at least one of the plurality of filter rules. The method and system also include combining a portion of the plurality of pure subsets of filter rules to provide a combined subset and determining whether an efficiency of utilizing the plurality of filter rules is improved by combining the portion of the plurality of pure subsets of filter rules. The method and system further includes storing the plurality of filter rules including storing the portion of the plurality of subsets of filter rules as the combined subset if the efficiency of searching the plurality of filter rules is improved.

  • Patent number: 6908687
Abstract: The present invention relates to oriented or hot-blown shrink films which may be manufactured from by a number of processes. The oriented films may be manufactured by double bubble, LISIM, tape bubble, trapped bubble or tenter framing processes. The films of the present invention are useful as a shrink film to package and label a variety of products. The films exhibit a high degree of MD shrinkage in a very controlled and consistent manner while providing a number of other positive characteristics such as optical clarity, puncture and abrasion resistance, controlled gauge, and superior web winding and handling characteristics. The shrink control layers of the films of the present invention contain a modifier component selected from plastomers and/or metallocene catalyzed ethylene-propylene copolymers and blends thereof.

  • Patent number: 6647904
Abstract: A planting unit lockup assembly extends between upper and lower links of a parallelogram linkage. A lockup link is pivotally coupled to the upper link and extends downwardly to the lower link. The lockup link is also provided with a slot having a hook. A slide member is mounted to the lower link and engages the slot. A control link is pivotally coupled to the lockup link by a loose pivot coupling. The control link is biased towards the lower link by a spring. The control link is provided with a trapping element that engages the lockup link. The trapping element of the control link engages the lockup link in one of two positions, a normal position and a lockup position. In its normal position, the control link biases the hook away from the slide bushing member. In its lockup position, the control link biases the hook toward the slide bushing member.

  • Patent number: 6563575
Abstract: An optical sensing system for detecting welds and defects in metal brightly illuminates a broad section of the metal and images a swath of the metal onto a multi-element detector array, generating voltage signals representing the reflectivity of the swath of the metal as it passes under the detector. A processor system detects areas of low reflectivity and indicates a defect. A slit mask placed in front of the detector array narrows the imaged swath to reduce false accepts. A color filter in front of the detector array reduces ambient light interference. The processor system incorporates an auto-calibration function to compare the current signal to an averaged reference signal.
