  • Publication number: 20140260575
Abstract: A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a pressure sensor, a pressure variation module, and a purge flow diagnostic module. The pressure sensor generates a pressure signal indicating a pressure within a fuel system of an engine. The pressure variation module determines an amount of variation in the pressure signal over a period. The purge flow diagnostic module diagnoses a fault associated with flow through a purge valve of the fuel system when the pressure variation amount is less than a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20140218691
Abstract: In one example of the invention a patient display is provided on which a fixation graphic or video is shown in substantially the centre of the display, and then target graphics or video are shown at different positions on the display about the centre. A test subject is positioned in front of the patient display at a known distance, and a camera captures an image of the test subject's eyes, to allow gaze direction determination to be performed. The captured images are displayed to a clinician user by a controlling test application, the clinician making a determination based on the images as to whether the test subject saw a target graphic or video when it was displayed. The clinician user then makes an appropriate input into the controlling test application, which also logs the position at which the target image was displayed.

  • Publication number: 20140102565
Abstract: A control system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a fuel system diagnostic module and a pump control module. The fuel system diagnostic module performs a diagnostic test on a fuel system when a vacuum pump is switched off to prevent flow through the vacuum pump and thereby seal a portion of the fuel system from an atmosphere. The vacuum pump includes a cam ring, a rotor that rotates within the cam ring, and vanes that slide into and out of slots in the rotor as the rotor rotates. The pump control module switches on the vacuum pump for a predetermined period to force the vanes out of the slots and into contact with the cam ring to seal the vacuum pump before switching off the vacuum pump for the fuel system diagnostic test.

  • Patent number: 8630786
Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, a sealed fuel system having a fuel tank, a canister for storing fuel vapor, a vapor circuit external to the fuel tank, and a control valve. The vapor circuit includes an absolute pressure sensor and a switching valve connecting the fuel tank to the control valve. A controller evaluates or diagnoses a vapor purge function of the sealed fuel system using vacuum measurements from the absolute pressure sensor, executing or diagnosing only when the engine is running, purge is enabled, and the pump is off. The controller diagnoses the vapor purge function by comparing the vacuum measurements to a threshold vacuum. An apparatus includes the vapor circuit and controller. A method for diagnosing the vapor purge function includes actuating the switching valve, measuring a vacuum in the system using the absolute pressure sensor, and comparing the measured vacuum to a threshold vacuum.

  • Publication number: 20130321613
Abstract: A camera based sewer evaluation vehicle has an electro-scan pipe defect detection system integrated therein. A cable and winch of the camera based system are utilized to support either a camera or an electro-scan probe. A signal transmitted through the cable is passed along for processing of signals received through the cable for final output and analysis, such as on a common computer. To facilitate electro-scan probe based pipe defect detection, a ground rod is utilized. The system can include a funnel plug downstream of the electro-scan probe for interconnection to a haul line and to assist in maintaining a liquid filled status in the pipe adjacent the electro-scan probe. A downstream bypass funnel plug or a blockade of some form can operate within and past a downstream manhole adjacent the pipe to keep the pipe filled with liquid.

  • Publication number: 20120329537
Abstract: A system is provided for processing yield management and casino table data. The system provides a graphical presentation of each games table spread, and where the game is overspread or under spread, and by how much. The table spread opportunities can also be aggregated to determine whether what is observed is a trend so that the operator can act on that trend to remedy it. An interactive graphical representation of this data combined with an ability to drill down to the underlying data to verify trends makes it possible to find opportunities to close games, open games and add or remove tables to the gaming floor so as to improve profitability. Displaying graphically how pricing of tables could be changed is particularly useful so that managers can know where opportunities exist to change pricing in order to improve profitability. An ability to drill down to a floor view makes it possible for the manager to verify the casino floor and visually see how the players are seated on tables.
