  • Publication number: 20180315071
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for offering loyalty rewards for transactions. One exemplary method includes associating, by a computing device, a merchant with a group of reward offerors, and associating, by the computing device, a consumer payment account with a group of reward offerees. The method also includes receiving, by the computing device, and advertising to the reward offerees, a reward offer from the merchant; receiving a transaction associated with the merchant and with the consumer payment account, and identifying, in a data structure, the merchant as a member of the group of reward offerors and the consumer payment account as associated with the group of reward offerees. The method then further includes, based on the advertised reward offer and on the identified merchant, updating, by the computing device, a loyalty reward account associated with the consumer payment account.

  • Patent number: 10116550
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for translating broadcast messages in a network device. The network device obtains a configuration for translating a destination address of a specified type of broadcast message to a different destination address. A broadcast message is received that matches the specified type. A multicast message is generated based upon the broadcast message and the configuration. A multicast address used as a destination for the multicast message corresponds to the multicast address for a group of network nodes specified by the configuration. The multicast message is transmitted from one or more network interfaces associated with the multicast address for the group of network nodes. The multicast message includes the instruction for the group of network nodes.

  • Publication number: 20180268810
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for generating domain-specific speech recognition models for a domain of interest by combining and tuning existing speech recognition models when a speech recognizer does not have access to a speech recognition model for that domain of interest and when available domain-specific data is below a minimum desired threshold to create a new domain-specific speech recognition model. A system configured to practice the method identifies a speech recognition domain and combines a set of speech recognition models, each speech recognition model of the set of speech recognition models being from a respective speech recognition domain. The system receives an amount of data specific to the speech recognition domain, wherein the amount of data is less than a minimum threshold to create a new domain-specific model, and tunes the combined speech recognition model for the speech recognition domain based on the data.

  • Patent number: 10004120
Abstract: A network switch and luminaire provide environmental lighting via network infrastructure. The network switch operates in a communication mode that communicates, via a network interface, data with the luminaire over a network. Some portion of the data may be lighting control information for the luminaire that is produced by a control device. The network uses a network protocol that provides power to the luminaire using a network cable, where the luminaire uses the power to illuminate a lighting element. In response to a signal received by an emergency control input on the network switch, the emergency circuitry switches the network switch from the communication mode to an emergency lighting mode. The emergency lighting mode bypasses the processor used for communicating data via the network interface, and provides, via the network cable attached to the network interface, only power to the luminaire.

  • Patent number: 9960874
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for managing interference across multiple transceivers in an access point in a network environment. A wireless networking system can include various access points. These access points may each include multiple transceivers. However, with multiple transceivers in close proximity, signals transmitted by one transceiver may interfere with another transceiver through crosstalk, adjacent channel interference, or other form of interference. Each access point may include an interference manager which can use an interference model to modify a signal transmitted by one transceiver to be used to cancel corresponding interference caused in a second transceiver. Interference can be modeled prior to deployment and/or at deployment using a series of test signals transmitted by one transceiver while the corresponding interference is monitored on a second transceiver.

  • Publication number: 20180027430
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for locating network components in a distributed antenna system. A DAS can include various antennas located within a deployment environment. The DAS may include a centralized hub that may interface with various broadband sources and manage access to the broadband sources for devices that connect to the DAS. In some embodiments, the centralized hub may communicate with one or more remote units that convert signals received from the centralized hub to be communicated using one of the distributed antennas. Components of the DAS may be associated with a beacon. The beacon can be configured to determine that the signal has been lost (e.g., due to component failure) and can begin transmitting an identification signal (e.g., a “ping”). The identification signal transmitted by the beacon may then be used to identify the location of the faulty component for servicing.

  • Publication number: 20180027468
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for load balancing in a network environment. A wireless networking system can include a load balancer to determine how to distribute client devices across available channels to minimize interference and maximize bandwidth. A client device can access a wireless network through an access point. When a request is received from the client device to access the wireless network, the wireless networking system can determine device information associated with the device. For example, the request can include a device identifier. In some embodiments, account information, such as a user name and password, may be included with the request or received in response to a log-in prompt. In some embodiments connection information may also be determined. Based on the device information and the connection information, the client device can be assigned to a channel.

  • Publication number: 20180027506
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for power management in a network environment. A wireless networking system can include various access points in different areas of a deployment environment. Each access point may include a power manager which determines a transmission power for the access point to minimize interference with neighboring access points. The power manager can determine zones associated with each access point based on the signal strength of devices within those zones and assign each zone to a separate channel. When a request is received from a client device to access the wireless network, the client device can be assigned to a channel based on connection information associated with the client device, such as signal strength or error rate. The connection information of each client device can be monitored periodically and the client devices can be reassigned to different channels based on changes to the connection information.

  • Patent number: 9871616
Abstract: A DMX512 network may include two gateway devices or two ports of a single gateway device, which are connected to a number of DMX512 devices. Under normal operating conditions, one gateway device or one port transmits and the other gateway device or the other port receives DMX512 frames. If there is a connection failure, then both gateway devices or both ports may transmit DMX512 frames. Once the connection is restored, the system may detect the restoration and one of the gateway devices or one of the ports ceases to transmit DMX512 frames.

  • Publication number: 20170371783
Abstract: Self-aware, peer-to-peer cache transfers between local, shared cache memories in a multi-processor system is disclosed. A shared cache memory system is provided comprising local shared cache memories accessible by an associated central processing unit (CPU) and other CPUs in a peer-to-peer manner. When a CPU desires to request a cache transfer (e.g., in response to a cache eviction), the CPU acting as a master CPU issues a cache transfer request. In response, target CPUs issue snoop responses indicating their willingness to accept the cache transfer. The target CPUs also use the snoop responses to be self-aware of the willingness of other target CPUs to accept the cache transfer. The target CPUs willing to accept the cache transfer use a predefined target CPU selection scheme to determine its acceptance of the cache transfer. This can avoid a CPU making multiple requests to find a target CPU for a cache transfer.
