  • Publication number: 20210013940
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for implementing a flexible beamforming architecture. In an example aspect, the apparatus comprises an antenna array comprising a first antenna element with a first feed port and a second antenna element with a second feed port. The apparatus also comprises a wireless transceiver with a first dedicated transceiver path coupled to the first feed port and a second dedicated transceiver path coupled to the second feed port. The wireless transceiver also comprises a flexible beamforming network configured to selectively be in a first configuration that couples both the first dedicated transceiver path and the second dedicated transceiver path to a first intermediate transceiver path of the wireless transceiver, and be in a second configuration that connects the first dedicated transceiver path to the first intermediate transceiver path and connects the second dedicated transceiver path to a second intermediate transceiver path of the wireless transceiver.

  • Publication number: 20200409712
Abstract: Operand-based reach explicit dataflow processors, and related methods and computer-readable media are disclosed. The operand-based reach explicit dataflow processors support execution of a producer instruction that explicitly names a target consumer operand of a consumer instruction in a consumer operand encoding namespace of the producer instruction. The produced value from execution of the producer instruction is provided or otherwise made available as an input to the named target consumer operand of the consumer instruction as a result of processing the producer instruction. The target consumer operand is encoded in the producer instruction as an operand target distance relative to the producer instruction. Instructions in an instruction stream between the producer instruction and the targeted consumer instruction that have no operands do not consume an operand reach namespace in the producer instructions.

  • Patent number: 10838731
Abstract: Branch prediction methods and systems include, for a branch instruction fetched by a processor, indexing a branch identification (ID) table based on a function of a program counter (PC) value of the branch instruction, wherein each entry of the branch ID table comprises at least a tag field, and an accuracy counter. For a tag hit at an entry indexed by the PC value, if a value of the corresponding accuracy counter is greater than or equal to zero, a prediction counter from a prediction counter pool is selected based on a function of the PC value and a load-path history, wherein the prediction counters comprise respective confidence values and prediction values. A memory-dependent branch prediction of the branch instruction is assigned as the prediction value of the selected prediction counter if the associated confidence value is greater than zero, while branch prediction from a conventional branch predictor is overridden.

  • Publication number: 20200341167
Abstract: Selecting a fracing-plan-to-apply to optimize a complexity index includes identifying a set of controllable input variables that defines a fracing plan. Initial values for the set of controllable input variables are defined. The initial values of the set of controllable input variables are processed to produce an initial stimulated geometry. A complexity estimator is applied to the initial stimulated geometry to produce an initial complexity index, which is evaluated to identify at least one variation from the initial values, which is processed to produce a variation stimulated geometry for each of the at least one variation from the initial values. The complexity estimator is applied to the at least one variation stimulated geometry to produce a variation complexity index for each of the at least one variation from the initial values. The fracing-plan-to-apply is selected from among the initial values and the at least one variation from the initial values.

  • Publication number: 20200334224
Abstract: A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability.
