Abstract: An apparatus and method for locating mobile terminals is disclosed. A base station transmits a radio signal to mobile terminals located in a specific area, and generates auxiliary location information for locating mobile terminals from a radio signal received from the terminals. A radio network controller receives the auxiliary location information of the terminals from the base station, and calculates locations of the terminals using the auxiliary location information. A cell broadcaster broadcasts information including assisted GPS information and an auxiliary location information request signal to the terminals located in the area. A core network manages information of mobile terminals connected to a network, and provides an interface with a location service client. This allows location of all of the terminals located in the specific area, irrespective of whether the provision of their location information is permitted, which facilitates rescue when a disaster or calamity occurs in the specific area.

Abstract: A method and system for deleting a floor in a PoC system is provided, in which a session management server has a function to reset a floor management list, namely to cancel all reserved floors at once, and when an arbitrary PoC user makes a request to reset the floor, the floor is reset according to whether authentication is made the system includes a PoC client attempting to make a request to delete a reserved floor, and a session management server receiving the floor deletion request message from the PoC client and deleting the reserved floor. The method includes making, by a PoC client belonging to an arbitrary group, a request to delete a floor reserved in a floor management list to a session management server, and deleting, by the session management server, the reserved floor when receiving the floor deletion request message from the PoC client.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention relates to a combined accelerometer and gyroscope system. The combined accelerometer and gyroscope system includes a combined accelerometer and gyroscope for maintaining vibration of a mass body at a constant amplitude using an applied drive voltage, and detecting vibration signals in directions of an acceleration axis and an angular velocity axis. An acceleration axis vibration signal obtainment unit obtains the vibration signal in the direction of the acceleration axis. An amplitude maintenance control unit outputs an acceleration axis vibration maintenance control signal using the vibration signal. An acceleration axis driving input unit receives a voltage signal from the amplitude maintenance control unit and applies the voltage signal to the combined accelerometer and gyroscope. An angular velocity axis vibration signal obtainment unit obtains the vibration signal in the direction of the angular velocity axis.

Abstract: Provided is a method for generating a preamble sequence group. The method includes creating a preamble sequence, calculating a cross-correlation value between sequences using the created preamble sequence, determining a limit cross-correlation value using the cross-correlation value to construct a preamble set used in the communication system, calculating a preamble set that satisfies the determined limit cross-correlation value, and terminating construction of the preamble set.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a force rebalance control system and method using an automatic gain control loop, which are configured to perform the force rebalance feedback control of a vibratory gyroscope using the automatic gain control loop for controlling the velocity signal of a mass body. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in that a conventional digital circuit, which is complicated and sensitive to noise, can be implemented using a simple analog circuit, and the present invention can be extended and applied to general-purpose vibratory gyroscopes or various sensor fields, such as those of an inertial sensor, a pressure sensor, and a temperature sensor, as well as micro-gyroscopes. Further, a force rebalance control system using an automatic gain control loop according to the present invention is applied to various sensors, thus improving performance, such as the dynamic range, bandwidth, and linearity of the sensors.

Abstract: A method and system for dividing a signal push-to-talk-over-cellular (PoC) group session are provided. The method includes requesting, at a PoC client, session division to a participating PoC function (PF) of a PoC server that manages a PoC session to which the PoC client belongs; requesting, at the PF of the PoC server, the session division to a controlling PoC function (CF) of a PoC server; transmitting, at the CF of the PoC server, information necessary for a new PoC session to at least one PoC client that desires to participate in the new PoC session while requesting the session division; and connecting, at the PoC client which is to participate in the new PoC session, to a CF of a PoC server which manages the new PoC session through a CF of an existing PoC server to thereby participate in the new PoC session.

Abstract: A mechanism to enable multiple message threads management in the context of the Converged IP Messaging (CPM) service and in the context of CPM inter-working with SMS is provided. A CPM user can simply start a message-based conversation with another CPM or Short Message Service (SMS) user without explicitly establishing a session beforehand. All messages that belong to a given conversation are displayed in the corresponding conversational view (i.e. window) in the CPM user device, even if the conversation is stopped and restarted at a later time, and even if there are multiple message threads available (currently active or stored) in the CPM device. Message structures and behavior of the CPM system elements to enable the functionalities above as well as a mechanism makes the message threads management possible even between a CPM user and an SMS user are also provided.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method for providing a converged messaging service, which can be compatibly used with or replace various services, such as an Instant Messaging (IM) service, a Short Message Service (SMS), a Multimedia Message Service (MMS), a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service, and a PTT over Cellular (PoC) service. To do this, there are defined an architecture and interfacing of a Converged Messaging Client (CMC) and a CM Server (CMS), which are elements of a converged messaging service for being compatibly used with or replacing the various services. In particular, there is suggested a method of enabling interworking between heterogeneous messaging services in an application layer by expending IP Multimedia Core Network (CN) Subsystem (IMS) technology. There is also suggested a method of defining a CM data storage for supporting the converged messaging service and managing a message and metadata stored in the defined CM data storage.

Abstract: A converged IP messaging client transmits a session establishment request for interactive message communication. When a converged IP messaging server receives the request, it determines whether a target client of the interactive message communication uses a converged IP messaging service. If not, the converged IP messaging server transmits the session establishment request to an IWF. If it is determined that the target client is an SM client, the IWF generates an interactive message communication request by transforming a format of the session establishment request into an SMS format and transmits the interactive message communication request to the SM client. If the IWF receives an acceptance response from the SM client in response to the interactive message communication request within an effective response time, a session for the interactive message communication can be established between the converged IP messaging client and the SM client.

Abstract: Provided are a system for establishing and managing a Push To Talk (PTT) over Cellular (PoC) session between PoC clients supporting various media types, a method thereof, and a User Equipment (UE) therefor. When a PoC client performing an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) PoC multimedia call service supports a plurality of media types, and media types supported by PoC clients are not common, a PoC session can be established to support only media types set to be transmitted in a first response message after the session is established. In addition, a method of efficiently managing a session by updating the session when a newly supported media type is provided or when a recipient of an existing media type is changed is suggested.

Abstract: Provided is a method and system for requesting and granting a media transmission right of a PoC user. The method includes a PoC client transmitting an MBCP Request message to a PoC server, the PoC server receiving the MBCP Request message, determining whether a current state corresponds to a media transmission denial condition, and if it is determined that the current state corresponds to a media transmission denial condition, transmitting an MBCP Deny message containing at least one of time information of a media transmission timer and time information of a retry-after timer to the PoC client, and the PoC client receiving the MBCP Deny message, activating the media transmission timer and the retry-after timer using the respective time information, and re-transmitting the MBCP Request message to the PoC server if one of the media transmission timer and the retry-after timer, the retry-after timer having a longer time value, expires.

Abstract: Provided is a method and system for transmitting media to a receiving PoC user without filtering according to importance indication information of a PoC user trying to transmit the media in a PoC system. Thus, if media transmitted by the PoC user is important, in order to inform the receiving PoC user of this, the PoC user transmits an MBCP Request message containing importance indication information to a PoC server, and the PoC server, which has received the MBCP Request message, transmits an MBCP Taken message containing importance indication information to the receiving PoC user. In addition, if media corresponding to an important message is filtered since media of a primary or locking-in session among a plurality of sessions or other media is being transmitted, the PoC server temporarily stores the media in a local memory or a PoC box and transmits the stored media after the preceding media is completely transmitted.

According the method and system, when a PoC client providing Open Mobile Alliance PoC multimedia communication service supports a plurality of floor control schemes and there is no floor control scheme appointed to be supported in a session, a floor control scheme requested by a PoC session establisher is transferred through a PoC session establishment procedure and is applied to the session.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for enabling a receiving-side Push-To-Talk (PTT)-over-Cellular (PoC) user to acquire ad-hoc group invitee information and selectively establishing a PoC session according to preference when a pre-established session and an auto-answer mode have been set between a receiving-side PoC user equipment and a PoC server in a PoC system. Particularly, in order to efficiently utilize the receiving-side Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) session setting, disclosed are a solution for transferring information related to other users expected to participate in group communication through user-plane signaling, and in addition, access rules, service setting, timers and a method for changing a response set between the client and server in order to support the solution.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for initiating a Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) session between PoC clients supporting various types of media. A PoC client performing Open Mobile Alliance-type multimedia communication service supports a plurality of media types and makes it possible to independently and more conveniently initiate a session irrespective of answer modes set according to media types when the answer modes according to the media types are not equal to each other.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for managing multimedia messages. If receiving a request to set a retrieval reminder for a specific multimedia message from an MS, an MMS relay/server sets a reminder time for the specific multimedia message to a reminder time included in the request to set the retrieval reminder. If a current time corresponds to the reminder time, the MMS relay/server notifies the MS of retrieving the specific multimedia message. If receiving a request to extend an expiry time of the specific multimedia message from the MS, the relay/server sets the expiry time of the specific multimedia message to an expiry time included in the request to extend the expiry time.

Abstract: A method in which a delegated client sends a request message containing operation information, a delegated client identity (ID), and a delegating client ID at the time of sending an operation request to a target system. The target system receives the request message and delegation-authorizes the delegated client by examining whether the delegating client is authorized to perform the operation requested by the request message and also whether the delegating client has delegated the authority to perform the operation to the delegated client sending the request message using the delegating client ID included in the request message. A new header is provided which includes ID information of the delegating client in the request message. When receiving the request message, the target system performs a procedure for authenticating and authorizing not only the delegated client but also the delegating client using the delegating client ID.

Abstract: A system and method of a multimedia Push-To-Talk (PTT) over Cellular (PoC) box service is provided which can reflect dynamic requests of a user using a function for interworking with a PoC server and an Extensible Markup Language (XML) Document Management Server (XDMS) in a PoC system. In a method for providing the PoC box service, the PoC XDMS stores various information about a type of media to be stored by a PoC user, a PoC box type, and a connection address after a service request expires. An associated service is implemented by Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) technology between the PoC server and a PoC client and by interworking with the PoC server and the XDMS.
