  • Patent number: 6353709
Abstract: A camera capable of detecting an abnormality has photographing operation programs, an abnormality detection program, and a checking operation program installed therein. The photographing operation programs cause a plurality of mechanisms included in the camera to act sequentially. The abnormality detection program detects an abnormality in an action of a predetermined one of the plurality of mechanisms. Responsive to detection of the abnormality in the action of the predetermined mechanism, as detected by the abnormality detection program, the checking operation program causes the predetermined mechanism alone to act again for checking of the predetermined mechanism under conditions different from those under which the predetermined mechanism has acted to have the abnormality detected by the abnormality detection program.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program for preferentially displaying partial information related to one of a plurality of network equipment connected to a network being managed by a network management system. The partial information is required for network management to be conducted from the network equipment. A managed terminal is included in each network equipment connected to the network. The network management system collects management information from each of the network equipment connected to the network and stores the management information therein. When conducting network management from the network equipment, the managed terminal thereof sends a request for network management to the network management system. The network management system transfers a program for managing the network to the managed terminal.

  • Patent number: 6275856
Abstract: When a computer as a logical connection destination which detected a search objective user issues a search request to first one of computers which established logical connections associated with the search objective user, the first computer selects users who used my computer in a use time of the search objective user, and executes the search request over the computers which established the logical connections associated with the selected users. The same search request is sequentially carried out over m candidates of the logical connection originator computer of my computer down to an m-th computer. Search results (a computer identifier of my computer and user identifiers of the selected users) obtained by the m computers are collected in the respective computers and returned to the logical connection destination computer in an order opposite to the search request order.

  • Patent number: 6167207
Abstract: In a film feed device using a film having two perforations per frame, a perforation width and a perforation interval which are detected by one perforation sensor during a film feed operation are measured as times by timers in a microcomputer or as film moving amounts by a perforation detection circuit. When the time or the film moving amount measured as this perforation interval is less than the value obtained by multiplying the perforation width by a predetermined value, the film feed operation is stopped by a motor driving circuit and a motor. With this operation, even if the film position deviates from a predetermined position at the start of a film feed operation, the film can be accurately aligned with a correct position by using one perforation sensor.

  • Patent number: 6047320
Abstract: A network managing method which divides a network to be managed into a plurality of virtual closed area networks, and defines management information on the virtual closed area networks separately in a plurality of logical hierarchies. A virtual LAN/network space defines a connection state among closed area networks, a closed area space defines attribute information on nodes within a closed area network, and a virtual service defines logical arrangement information on nodes in the overall network. The management information is distributively stored in each node and utilized for communication control and so on. When the configuration of the network is changed due to movements of nodes and so on, an administrator inputs the contents of update from the manager of each layer, so that the manager communicates with a node containing corresponding management information to instruct the node to update the management information.

  • Patent number: 5966448
Abstract: According to a cryptographic communication system which can safely perform cipher conversion processing when cryptographic communication is performed between terminals using different cipher types, when a terminal 10A-1 connected to a LAN-A using a cryptographic algorithm C1 transmits data to a terminal 10B-1 connected to a LAN-B using a cryptographic algorithm C2, the terminal 10A-1 generates two meaningless data items from the data to be transmitted, decrypts the two generated data items according to the cryptographic algorithm C1, and then transmits the decrypted data to two cryptographic protocol conversion servers and for dividing the data into two data items. Each of the cryptographic protocol conversion servers decrypts each transmitted data item, the re-encrypts the decrypted data according to the cryptographic algorithm C2, and then transmits the data to the terminal 10B-1.
