  • Patent number: 7415587
Abstract: When data written into a volume (source volume) in a parity group in a storage apparatus is written into a volume (destination volume) in a parity group in a storage apparatus using a remote copy function, it is determined during the copy whether or not one or both of the following two specified conditions are satisfied for this set of volumes: (1) the performance of the destination volume after a failover is equal to or higher than the performance of the source volume before the failover; and (2) the performance of the destination volume is equal to or higher than the performance of the source volume during the copy. If the condition(s) is not satisfied, the storage apparatus in which the destination volume is defined is changed in configuration to satisfy the condition.

  • Patent number: 7269565
Abstract: It is desirable that using a computer system, which administrates multiple storages, the storages are operated efficiently to minimize free spaces on the storages by assigning effectively the free spaces to the users with a wide variety of needs, resulting in their higher satisfaction. To achieve this, the storage operational system allows the SSPs to create and present the next-best proposed set-ups satisfying partially the users' requirements even if all the requirements are not satisfied by the proposed set-ups created based on the requirements for set-ups by the users assigned to rented storages. In addition, to satisfy the users' requirements as possible, such conditions as application of discounted prices can be indicated to other users for negotiation provided that the user's requirements may be satisfied by changing the conditions for using the storages through such a negotiation with other users.

  • Patent number: 7213558
Abstract: An engine air intake device for an outboard motor includes a plurality of main intake pipes corresponding to each cylinder. First and second branch pipes extend from an upstream end of each main part. The first branch pipes are longer than the second branch pipes. The second branch pipes each include a valve and are selectively closed. The first branch pipes open into a first surge tank. The second branch pipes open into a second surge tank that is formed separately from the first surge tank. In operation, the valves of the second branch pipes are open when the engine is operating in high engine speed and are closed at low-to-medium speeds.

  • Patent number: 7172381
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an unfastening prevention device which has nothing projecting outside, and can prevent unfastening at either head or distal end of a bolt. An unfastening prevention is attained by covering a cap (6, 16) to screwed up fastening means formed of a bolt (2) and a nut (3). In a groove (6a, 16a) formed on an inner surface of the cap (6, 16) an outer periphery of a spring ring (8) is engaged, an inner periphery of the spring ring being engaged in a groove (7a) of a holder (7), restricting axial direction (2a) and resulting in slip out prevention. Even when a torque is given on the cap (6, 16), the cap idles, fastening condition does not change and unfastening prevention is attained.

  • Publication number: 20070015630
Abstract: A crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is connected to an automatic transmission mechanism through a torque converter. A difference in a load applied to the crankshaft between a D range and a P range is sensed based on a difference in a command fuel injection amount during idling stabilization control between the D range and the P range. A difference between a fuel amount required by learning control of pilot fuel injection in the D range and a standard command fuel injection amount required for performing the learning control under the load corresponding to the p range is reduced by a fuel injection amount difference caused by the difference of the load. A learning value of the pilot injection is learned based on the reduced difference.
