  • Publication number: 20240025504
Abstract: An automated bicycle lighting system comprising light modules that contain sensors and a processor which enable the color and/or flash state of the emitted light to be changed depending upon the physical orientation of the modules is provided. The sensors and processor also allow the operating state of the light modules to be adjusted depending upon whether movement of the light modules is sensed. The modules are used in combination with pedals configured to removably receive the modules and/or with an auxiliary mount that provides for mounting the modules to other components of a bicycle, such as, for example, handlebars, seat-posts, frame tubes, helmets and/or a rider's clothing.

  • Publication number: 20240028575
Abstract: A system uses a hybrid key-value storage engine that uses log-structured merge tree and a segmented log-structured object store. The system performs garbage collection of stale document versions avoiding index lookup during log segment compaction. The system separates index and document data to minimize write amplification. The system maintains a delete list using a log-structured merge-tree to store stale document sequence numbers and corresponding sizes per log segment. For each log segment from the plurality of log segments, the system determines a measure of fragmentation of the log segment based on sizes of deleted documents of the log segment from the second log-structured merge-tree. If the fragmentation exceeds a threshold, the system initiates a compaction operation for the log segment.

  • Patent number: 11873115
Abstract: Methods of determining a final space reservation for a new aircraft are disclosed. The methods include using parametric definitions of potential payloads to generate a population of representative payloads for use in creating an initial space reservation. The methods include accounting for and applying a variety of margins on each potential payload and taking the union of potential payloads. Alternatively, the union can be taken first and then the margins applied. A homogenous space reservation can be determined based upon a variety of differently shaped or sized payloads, including a margin build-up to mitigate risk of unknowns associated with future changes in specific payload shapes and sizes, build tolerances, environmental conditions, and/or loading and unloading motions and clearances. Once this space reservation is known, it is possible to design an external shape of a carrying vehicle by staying outside of this space reservation.

  • Patent number: 11873033
Abstract: A vehicle tailgate assembly primarily for pick-up trucks comprises a frame with a transverse base and support arms extending perpendicularly therefrom adjacent distal ends of the base. A tailgate door is rotationally mounted to the frame between the support arms. The door comprises a transverse upper section rotationally joined to a transverse lower section at a rotational joint, preferably a hinge. A releasable locking mechanism is located adjacent the rotational joint to releasably hold the upper section in relation to the lower section at selected orientations. An additional locking mechanism may selectively hold the lower section and/or the upper section to the support arms. The tailgate may also be provided with an extendible tailgate which may be rotated interiorly and exteriorly of the plane of the upper section. An extendible handle may also be provided to support user entry and exit from a cargo hold of the truck.

  • Patent number: 11876941
Abstract: A system for collection and distribution of curated tagged content includes a server or collection of servers in communication with one or more networks. The servers receive moment files generated by recording users via recording devices; each moment file is associated with a tagged object (e.g., physical or virtual) and includes associated media content. Each moment file is associated with recorder-side filtering via which a potential reader may be defined as an eligible or ineligible reader of the moment file. The server stores the received moment files to memory and receives indications of reading devices near an associated tagged object. The server receives indications of reading devices near a tagged object associated with a moment file; for those reading users determined eligible to read a moment file, the server forwards to their associated reading devices associated media content for display in response to engagement by the reading user.

  • Patent number: 11871208
Abstract: An illustrative application executing on a first device establishes a first network connection between the first device and a collaboration platform server managing a set of components for a collaboration platform providing voice communication services with respect to a virtual space. Using the first network connection, the application: 1) sets a first location within the virtual space at which a first voice component is positioned, and 2) determines a second location within the virtual space at which a second voice component is positioned. The application receives, by way of a second network connection between the first and second devices, audio data representing voice communication originating at the second device. Based on the first and second locations, the application generates a spatialized rendering of the audio data for presentation to a user. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230418828
Abstract: A graphical user interface is configured to guide a user through a method of creating a RESTful API protocol-compliant URL, without requiring that the user be familiar with syntax of the RESTful API protocol. The graphical user interface includes a URL output that indicates to the user features within a user-edited URL that render the user-edited URL non-compliant with the RESTful API protocol. The graphical user interface includes a set of graphical input devices to solicit and receive from the user input specifying a set of query options, which user input is used to define the RESTful API protocol-compliant URL. • Publication number: 20230409049
Abstract: During landing and rejected-takeoff flight phases, aircraft drag is a useful force to supplement braking and reduce stopping distance. During descents, aircraft drag is a useful force in steepening flight path angle and achieving higher rates of vertical descent speed at a trimmed forward flight speed in unaccelerated flight. A flight control system is detailed herein that deflects opposing flight control components in a symmetric fashion to increase aircraft drag, while maintaining controllability.

  • Patent number: 11846526
Abstract: Described are systems and methods to provide agnostic sensor data obtained from a sensor and transmitted to a central database by a transmitter device. In one aspect, a value sensed by a sensor component is converted at the transmitter device to an agnostic value defined by a dimensionless universal scale and offset. The agnostic value is then sent to a data acquisition database where it is converted back to the original value. This is accomplished by first providing the data acquisition database with a sensor definition of a scale and offset used to convert the sensor values in addition to any sensor indicia and other parameters to display the data acquired at the data acquisition database. The wireless sensors database and user interface are also automatically updated when a new sensor type is attached to the network utilizing configuration data that resides in the new sensor that is sent to the database on its first connection.
