  • Publication number: 20190212210
Abstract: A device for indicating violation of a temperature limit of an item is provided. The device is positionable near the item and includes a sensor configured to change its state permanently when the temperature limit is violated. The change in sensor state is machine-readable to provide a permanent indication of the temperature limit violation. The sensor includes a reservoir for storing a fluid that changes phase from a solid to a liquid when the temperature limit is violated and a channel in fluid communication with the reservoir for receiving flow of the fluid in liquid phase from the reservoir. The sensor is arranged to allow flow of the fluid in the liquid phase such that the state of the sensor is permanently changed. The sensor is further configured to prevent the fluid flow from permanently changing the sensor state until activation of the sensor from a resting state. A system and method for detecting violation of a temperature limit of an item using the device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20180193226
Abstract: A feeding pouch assembly includes a pouch defining a fluid chamber with an outlet port extending from the pouch. The outlet port is in fluid communication with the fluid chamber. A valve is positioned at the outlet port and is biased to a natural sealing position wherein flow from the fluid chamber to the outlet port is prevented. The valve moves to a non-sealing position, wherein fluid is free to flow from the fluid chamber to the outlet, upon connection of the outlet port to a feeding tube. The valve automatically moves to the sealing position upon disconnection of the feeding tube from the outlet port.

  • Publication number: 20170274601
Abstract: There is provided an additive manufacturing system comprising a vertical stage (also known as a z-stage) that moves the object being created along an axis of motion that is not perpendicular to the image plane (non-parallel to the z-axis of the image plane). By moving the build platform, upon which the additively manufactured object is being supported, along a predetermined axis of motion, such as one adapted to the dominant axis of the object design, the additive manufacturing system is capable of making larger objects, shortening build times, improving part resolution, and/or reducing the volume of photocurable material needed, among other benefits.

  • Patent number: 8567567
Abstract: A winding tool for tightening a torsion spring for a sectional overhead door. The winding tool features two half hub assembles that wrap around an overhead door shaft, wherein a translational sprocket is disposed on the hub assemblies. The hub assemblies connect to the winding cone of a torsion spring via fingers that engage the hub assemblies. A winding box is removably attached to the hub assemblies. The winding box features a worm gear that engages the translational sprocket. A handle bar can be rotated with a drill to cause rotation of the worm gear. Rotation of the worm gear causes rotation of the translational sprocket and ultimate winding of the torsion spring.
