  • Patent number: 8087844
Abstract: A swivel for connecting a fishing line to fishing lure or other terminal tackle having a main body with one open end and cavity running through the axis of for inserting a coupler into. a rod of which has an eyelet on one end and head on the opposite end which is larger than said rod shaft yet small enough to fit into said main body cavity. Two neodymium ring magnets and rubber ring washers which fit onto said rod and are inserted into said main body cavity after which a male compression fitting is inserted into said main body cavity and compressed over ridges on the end cap securing all parts within said main body. The rod shaft spins freely within by using the opposing magnetic poles of the neodymium ring magnets as an air bearing which creates zero friction from moving parts removing any possibility of swivel seizure due to ball bearings wearing out which is common with bearing swivels.

  • Publication number: 20090287428
Abstract: Methods and devices to determine values relating to metering a power line signal. A power line signal may be sampled by defining accumulation intervals associated with the power line signal. An accumulation interval may comprise sample periods. Samples are taken during sample periods. Values associated with the samples are determined for each sample period. A sample period may be associated with one or more accumulation intervals. When a sample period belongs to one accumulation interval, the sample period may be allocated to the one accumulation interval. When a sample period is associated with more than one accumulation interval, portions of the sample period may be allocated to the accumulation intervals to which the portions belong. Values determined for a sample period may be allocated to one or more accumulation intervals by allocating the values in relation to the allocation of the sample periods.

  • Publication number: 20090256443
Abstract: A hollow ring torus permanent magnet generator, with a sphere shaped permanent magnet which spins/revolves within the hollow ring torus passing through insulated copper magnet wire windings which are wound around the exterior portion of the ring torus shaped body which, has two or more coils that said sphere magnet passes through forcing electrons through insulated copper coils which, produces electrical current sufficient to power light emitting diodes or a number of low voltage electrical device. Can be encapsulated within a number of devices i.e., flashlight body, fishing lure body or mounted on the axis of a device i.e., spinning fan blade, tire to produce low voltage as the device spins or moves in a rolling motion allowing the sphere magnet to pass through the insulated copper coil windings.

  • Patent number: 7585259
Abstract: A weightlifting apparatus that supports a free weight barbell when activated using two counter-weight controlled support arms that are mechanically attached to a vertical support on a bench press system. The vertical supports each have a slide rail that is mechanically coupled to a locking assembly that acts to release the support arms using buttons. The support arms are attached to independent counterweights or springs by means of a cable. When released by a foot pedal these support arms are elevated by the counterweights. The support arms hold the barbell and prevent it from downward movement via the one-way locking assembly mounted to the support arms. The support arms work independently of one another so that a user may reset each support arm independently.

  • Patent number: 7367831
Abstract: A connector includes a first housing section having a plurality of electrically conductive contacts therein. The connector also includes a second housing section including a plurality of electrically conductive contacts that can form an electrical connection with the contacts of the first housing section. The first housing section and the second housing section are removably connectable and are capable of forming an explosion proof or flame proof housing when connected. The contacts of at least one of the second housing section and the first housing section are movable relative to their respective housing section to align the contacts of the second housing and the contacts of the first housing section during connection of the second housing section to the first housing section.

  • Patent number: 7269002
Abstract: An apparatus that can secure an electronic device into a vehicle recess is described. The apparatus provides a vehicle-specific integrated docking station for a digital media player, e.g. Apple's iPod. The docking station contains a connecting assembly to interface the digital media player to a digital media interface than in turn is connected to a vehicle audio system. The vehicle recess may be an ashtray recess, a change-tray recess, a cup-holder recess or other appropriate recess. The vehicles may be automobiles, trucks, boats or aircraft.

  • Patent number: 7114280
Abstract: A fishing lure having a durable plastic outer shell with lead weights within and that has two hollow tubular chambers. The main chamber is translucent and holds a chemiluminescent chemical stick that illuminates the chamber. The second, bottom chamber in the tail holds fish attractant oil and a sponge-like material that retains the oil. A hole at the top of the chamber allows water to enter into the chamber. The water mixes with the oil and is then dispensed from a second hole at the bottom of the chamber. The tail portion further includes tail fins that are curved causing the lure to spin when retrieved and can be connected with the top cap of the lure to form a separate scent releasing lure without the chemiluminescent chamber being used.

  • Publication number: 20060201614
Abstract: A method for producing a polycarbonate article having improved ultraviolet protection, the method comprising extruding a substrate comprising polycarbonate; impregnating an ultraviolet radiation absorber into a surface of the substrate to form an interlayer; and laminating a weatherable film onto the interlayer of the substrate. This method allows a weatherable acrylic film to be uniformly applied to the substrate to provide long term anti-yellowing performance. Articles made by this dual-layer process have excellent weathering performance for extended periods of time and can be employed in the production of commercial signs.

  • Publication number: 20060021123
Abstract: A compact, smooth surfaced, flexible and formable, elongate apparatus that has a hair-clog snagging end portion for insertion into drains for snagging and removing the common hair clogs that exist in the upper portion of drains typically around the drain pop-up mechanism and drain trap. The elongate shaft (10) may be bent along it's complete length into any shape and remain fixed in that shape to accommodate compact storage as well as forming a grasping and twisting handle for the shaft while it is in the drain or bending the hair-snagging end of the shaft for easier insertion and navigation within the drain. The hair-clog snagging portion, which is at the distal end of the shaft, is in the form of a pad (12), which maximizes the surface area of hair hooking members (38).

  • Publication number: 20050255509
Abstract: The methods of the present invention allow for the measurement of ribonucleotide reductase (RR) activity, an important enzyme in the de novo DNA synthesis pathway. Ribonucleotide reductase converts all four ribonucleotides to their deoxy form and is a rate-controlling step in this pathway. Biosynthetic pathways of deoxyribonucleotides (dN) have received considerable attention in the context of anti-proliferative chemotherapy. Inhibitors of various steps in dN biosynthesis, including inhibitors of RR are among the most useful chemotherapeutic agents in cancer, viral infections, and other therapeutic uses. DNA synthesis from the dN salvage pathway is also an important component to DNA replication. The relative contributions from RR vs. salvage pathways are critical to the actions and effectiveness of chemotherapeutic agents that act on nucleoside metabolic pathways. Until now, however, it has not been possible to study these metabolic processes in vivo.
