  • Publication number: 20190358762
Abstract: The invention of a device has four threaded bolts that engage cooperatively threaded apertures in a base. These thread bolts hold the device in a temporary yet stationary position. The device has non-magnetic metal which allows test indicators to display accurate results free from any magnetic fields. The device has a precision bore of a nominal size. The radial value of the nominal size precision bore provides for mathematical calculation of the spindle centerline to work piece distance for measuring. The device has undercuts on both of its sides to aid in removing by hand. These undercuts allow the device to pivot from its stationary position for removal without damaging the planar surface. Alternatively, the device has four magnetic inserts, pocketed upwardly from the bottom surface.

  • Publication number: 20190162515
Abstract: A device used in a spindle or fixture to measure tool sizes. The device has two cylindrical shapes that have precision machined surfaces. The device's face has a precise size which is the same nominal size as that of a material removing tool. The device's shaft allows for concentric and precision fastening of the device to a spindle or a fixture. The nose of the device is located on the end of the larger of the two cylindrical shapes which is visible exposed when mounted and used. The end of the device is at the end of the smaller of the two cylindrical shapes which is hidden after mounting. The device allows more accurate programming of machine tools thus providing higher quality results on machined work pieces and reducing machining cycles.

  • Publication number: 20190078879
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanical test fixture used in a machine tool to inspect its positioning, squareness, parallelism, and circularity. The fixture body has two mountable heads that provide machine areas for inspection. The fixture body has one tooling hole that locates the assembly in a CNC machine and in a CMM. The tooling hole serves as one datum point or origin for setup. The flatness of the fixture body and the witnessed face provide repeatable setup results. The fixture body has two feet on its outer legs for fastening to any CNC machine and CMM table. The test fixture qualifies a machine tool by providing a machinable square head and a machinable round head fixed on a fixture body.

  • Publication number: 20170319130
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for saliva-conductance based hydration sensors and for a wireless network comprising hydration sensors and base stations. The hydration sensors include electrodes, a means of measuring saliva conductance, a processor, memory and wireless controllers. The hydration sensors output user hydration status based on the conductance of the user's saliva. Saliva conductance is correlated with ion concentration of saliva, which is a biomarker for dehydration. Thus, saliva conductance can be a proxy for dehydration. The hydration sensors may be used in active or hostile conditions, e.g., military use. Symptoms of dehydration are delayed: fatigue and impaired judgment can occur before a user realizes he/she is dehydrated. The hydration sensors indicate dehydration to a user, thus encouraging a user to hydrate and prevent dehydration-related injuries. Data from hydration sensors may be used in determining supply delivery logistics in hostile or inaccessible terrain.

  • Patent number: 9432314
Abstract: A messaging application running on a computing device utilizes a navigation model that exposes user interfaces (UIs) which implement a messaging conversation history in a minimized form so that a user can quickly jump to a desired conversation displayed on a chat card without having to toggle back and forth between a conventional messaging list view and chat card views. The minimized conversation history can be implemented using a scrollable carousel of images that is persistently displayed on the UI. The images represent messaging participants (i.e., contacts) that are arranged in an ordered display according to conversation history. The particular contact that is associated with the currently displayed chat card is highlighted in the carousel using color and/or other graphic treatments. As messaging activities occur and new messages come in and are sent out, the carousel is dynamically updated to show the contacts in the appropriate sorted historical order.

  • Patent number: 9348914
Abstract: The method and system of the present invention provides an improved technique for replacing, implementing and managing computer-related assets. A technician accesses the World Wide Web through a user's computer. The information resident on the computer, including information regarding the computer and the user's preferences, are downloaded to a remote storage medium through the World Wide Web. Once downloaded, all information may be removed from the user's computer. Subsequently, the technician accesses another computer such as, for example, a new computer that has been assigned to the same user. The technician accesses the World Wide Web through the new computer and downloads the information previously stored on the remote storage medium. This information can then be used to install the user's prior applications, settings and preferences on the new computer.
