  • Patent number: 8856646
Abstract: The method and system of the present invention provides an improved method for asset transition project management. Information is aggregated from a variety of sources into a centralized computerized database. Thereafter, assets that are electronically connected to the computerized database are monitored. If a transition occurs, information concerning the transition is input into the computerized database on a real-time basis during the implementation of the transition. The information input into the computerized database can be used to manage the transition.

  • Publication number: 20140273410
Abstract: A system for depositing a layer on a substrate includes a processing chamber, a gas injecting port for introducing gas into the system, a gas distribution plate disposed between the gas injecting port and the processing chamber, the gas distribution plate including holes therein, and an inject insert liner assembly received within the system adjacent to the gas distribution plate and upstream from the processing chamber. The inject insert liner assembly defines gas flow channels therein extending along a lengthwise direction of the system, wherein each channel includes an inlet and an outlet, and at least one channel is tapered along the lengthwise direction of the system in at least one of a vertical or horizontal direction. The inject insert liner assembly has the same number of gas flow channels as the number of holes in the gas distribution plate.

  • Patent number: 8825712
Abstract: The method and system of the present invention provides an improved technique for replacing, implementing and managing computer-related assets. A technician accesses the World Wide Web through a user's computer. The information resident on the computer, including information regarding the computer and the user's preferences, are downloaded to a remote storage medium through the World Wide Web. Once downloaded, all information may be removed from the user's computer. Subsequently, the technician accesses another computer such as, for example, a new computer that has been assigned to the same user. The technician accesses the World Wide Web through the new computer and downloads the information previously stored on the remote storage medium. This information can then be used to install the user's prior applications, settings and preferences on the new computer.

  • Patent number: 8752394
Abstract: A method for determining the speed of at least one rotating fan, such as a propeller, through sensing pressure waves generated by the blades of the fan. An apparatus operable to execute the method is also disclosed. The apparatus includes a fan having a hub portion and a plurality of blades extending radially outward from the hub portion. The apparatus also includes an engine operable to rotate the fan about an axis of rotation. The apparatus also includes a sensor spaced from the fan along the axis of rotation. The sensor is positioned to sense at least one physical condition that is external of the engine and is changed by rotation of the plurality of blades. The sensor is operable to emit a signal corresponding to at least one physical condition. The apparatus also includes a processor operably engaged with the engine and the sensor. The processor is operable to receive the signal from the sensor and change the operation of the engine in response to the signal to change a speed of the fan.

  • Patent number: 8732265
Abstract: Techniques for reconciliation and remediation of messages sent by a server for storage in an archive are described. Some techniques may comprise receiving a message to be reconciled corresponding to a message sent by a server to be stored in an archive. The received message may be categorized for reconciliation, and a delivery confirmation query may be issued to the archive according to categorization of the message for reconciliation. Based on the response to the delivery confirmation query, it can be determined with certainty whether the message sent to the archive for storage is indeed stored at the archive. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 8726424
Abstract: An energy management structure is adapted to absorb a force applied thereto. The structure includes a first component possessing a first compressive response profile, a second component possessing a second compressive response profile different from the first compressive response profile, and a third component connecting the first component to the second component. Upon application of a force, the second compressive response profile of the second component is additive to the first compressive response profile of the first component to result in an overall compressive response profile of the energy management structure that meets a design compressive response profile.

  • Publication number: 20140122726
Abstract: Disclosed herein are representative embodiments of tools and techniques for updating services in sharing-experience sessions during communications calls. According to one exemplary technique, a first computing device initiates a communications call and receives capability information for a second computing device. The capability information for the second computing device includes information indicating attributes of a service supported by the second computing device. Additionally, the first computing device evaluates the capability information to determine that the service is supported by the first and second computing devices. The first computing device initiates a sharing-experience session that includes the service. An update message comprising update information for the service is received, and based on the received update information, content of the service is updated.

  • Patent number: 8543543
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for hash-based file comparison. In accordance with the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a comparison tool is configured to compare hash values in a first hash list associated with a first file to hash values in a second hash list corresponding to a second file. The hash values are computed for functional blocks of the respective files and therefore can be compared to indicate if the functional blocks of the two files match one another. If the hash values match, the functional blocks associated with the respective hash values can be determined to match, while hash values that do not match can indicate that the corresponding functional blocks do not match one another.
