Abstract: A voice activated translation device comprising: a housing, where the housing comprises, a microprocessor to translate a message; a screen to display one or more languages to be translated; a speaker positioned by the screen, where the speaker plays a translated message; a microphone positioned by the speaker, where the microphone receives the message to be translated; and a plurality of buttons positioned on the housing, where the plurality of buttons operate the housing; and an earpiece worn by a first user, where the earpiece comprises, an earbud to enable the first user to hear the translated message; a hook to securely attach the earpiece to the first user's ear; and a mouthpiece, where the mouthpiece receives the message to be translated. The voice activated translation device processes and plays translated messages to enable people of different speaking languages to converse.

The system may associate a consumer with a targeted market segment of consumers based upon a browsing history of the consumer and/or a purchasing history of the consumer. The system may further serve an email to the consumer based upon the association between the consumer and the targeted market segment of consumers—i.e., the system may serve an email to a consumer in the targeted market segment of consumers. The system may, in addition, serve the real time email content to the consumer in response to the consumer opening the email.

Abstract: A system and method to optimize the yield of a restaurant having perishable inventory is described. Through a card company, a restaurant can market incentives to make reservations during an off-peak time to enrolled card members. Offer marketing is based on stated customer preferences, and conducted via, for example, a website, email, or text message. Reservations are made, for example, via a centralized booking service. The incentive is fulfilled to the card member in a coupon-less manner. The card company receives a commission from the participating restaurant for every such sale.

Abstract: Modular constructional toy kit and instructional story book, for use in forming a customized and personalized privacy guard in the form of a door knocker and learning the importance of protecting and respecting a persons right to privacy. Abstract: This invention relates to methods for the transformation of plants from the genus Allium, and transformed plants produced according to the method. Specifically, this invention relates to direct transformation of Allium leaf tissue using Agrobacterium mediated transformation, and plants regenerated from the transformed leaf tissue. In various aspects, the invention relates to a method of obtaining a transformed Allium leaf tissue and methods of obtaining a transformed Allium plant by regenerating the transformed leaf tissue.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a combustor having a fuel nozzle assembly for delivering fuel to a combustion chamber. A sensor is at least partially housed within the fuel nozzle assembly for sensing a parameter associated with the delivery of fuel to the combustion chamber. In one example, the sensor is an optical sensor coupled to an optical decoder for ascertaining the parameter. A trim valve is in communication with the fuel nozzle assembly. A controller is in communication with the sensor and is programmed to actuate the trim valve to adjust the amount of fuel delivered through the fuel nozzle assembly in response to the parameter. In one example, an end of the optical sensor is arranged near a fuel exit of the fuel nozzle assembly. The controller actuates the trim valve for the fuel nozzle assembly to achieve a desired air/fuel ratio and/or balance the fuel delivery of the fuel nozzle assembly relative to another fuel nozzle assembly within the gas turbine engine's combustor system.
