  • Patent number: 8911441
Abstract: The present application is directed to instruments and methods for preparing a space between vertebral members. One embodiment of the instrument may include an elongated shaft with a proximal end and a distal end. A blade may be positioned at an end of the shaft and may rotate about an axis. The blade may include one or more teeth that include a height and/or contour. During rotation of the blade, the teeth contact and cut into one of the vertebral members. The instrument may also include a depth stop that limits a depth that the teeth can cut into the vertebral member. In some embodiments, the instrument includes a second blade that is configured to cut into the second vertebral member.

  • Publication number: 20100158488
Abstract: Multiple information is extracted from an unknown recording and information associated therewith. Associated information includes the filename, if the recording is a computer file in, e.g., MP3 format, or table of contents (TOC) data, if the recording is on a removable medium, such as a compact disc. At least one and preferably several algorithmically determined fingerprints are extracted from the recording using one or more fingerprint extraction methods. The information extracted is compared with corresponding information in a database maintained for reference recordings. Identification starts with the most accurate and efficient method available, e.g., using a hash ID, a unique ID or text. Fingerprint matching is used to confirm other matches and validation is performed by comparing the duration of the unknown and a possibly matching reference recording.

  • Publication number: 20080150989
Abstract: A method of jet-printing smooth micro-scale features is presented. The desired feature prior to being printed is masked by various decimation filters and the decimation is performed at various pitches. The subsequently printed image is then scanned and analyzed to determine the roughness of the lines. The optimum decimation pitch is determined by the feature that exhibits the least amount of droplet spreading and has the lowest edge roughness. The optimum decimation pitch may also be calculated from the material properties and the dynamics of fluids.

  • Publication number: 20080019846
Abstract: A variable displacement pump having an inner rotor (gerotor) and an outer rotor is disclosed. Advantageously, the pump provides a movable outer rotor capable of changing the amount of fluid transferred from an inlet to an outlet. Optionally, a biasing member is connected to the outer rotor for preventing movement of the outer rotor below a predetermined amount of pressure at the outlet.

  • Patent number: 7214247
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of polymers comprising a block copolymer containing at least one group A and at least one group B in which each group A is a polymeric block built up from an ethylenically unsaturated polymerisable monomer and each group B is a polymeric block built up from an alkylene oxide, alkylene glycol or cyclic ether monomer or a mixture thereof for promoting soil release during laundering of a textile fabric and processes for their preparation. Laundry cleaning compositions comprising such polymers, a method of promoting soil release during laundering of a textile fabric and the use of such polymers in the manufacture of a laundry cleaning composition for effecting soil release from a laundry item form other aspects of the invention.
