  • Publication number: 20080054073
Abstract: A system and method for identifying a component for use with a surgical device are disclosed. A component of a surgical device includes an identifier, such as a RFID tag. Data from the RFID tag is transmitted to a RFID reader operably coupled to the device. A controller identifies the component based on the received data and determines whether the component can be used with the surgical device based on criteria, such as whether the received data is an authorized code that matches data stored in memory or whether the received data solves or satisfies an algorithm. The authorized codes are selected from a larger set of available codes. The controller can enable or disable the operation of the device with the component based on whether the criteria is satisfied and can cause the surgical device to be configured for use with the component.

  • Publication number: 20080030971
Abstract: A network outlet fixture providing wall-mounted LAN jacks. The fixture may include an in-wall power supply and be configured for mounting within a conventional multi-gang wall box. The power supply may be directly connected to an adjacent wall outlet, which serves as a power source, in the same or an adjacent wall box. The fixture may include both network switching and fiber-to-copper media converter functionality. The fixture may be configured to disconnect the power source upon removal of a face plate of the fixture. Further, the fixture may be configured to allow mounting of the jack-supporting structure in any one of several different positions relative to a remainder of the outlet fixture. This allows for presentation of the LAN jacks in a certain preferred orientation while permitting the remainder of the outlet fixture to be mounted in several different orientations relative to a wall.

  • Publication number: 20080030016
Abstract: An integral tab system for a 2-D or 3-D tab for a folder, and a method of making same is disclosed. The integral 2-D (flat) tab (20) is provided in the hanging folder itself without the need for additional tabs being affixed. The 3-D tab version (120) is created by an extension which is folded onto itself so that one edge surface is at an angle relative to the panels of the file folder allowing it to be read from the side. These tabs may also be supplied in a detachable form.

  • Patent number: 7305784
Abstract: An index tab adapter, suitable for retrofitting an existing file folder for use with a particular index tab style. The adapter has adhesive portions, located on either side of a non-adhesive portion. The non-adhesive portion is slotted and is spaced apart from the file folder. The slots are shaped to engage a particular style of index tab, so that when a given index tab is inserted into the slots in the adapter, the given index tab becomes attached to the file folder, and the file folder may be identified by the given index tab as if it were originally configured to accept the style of the given index tab. Put another way, an index tab removably engages slots in the adapter, rather than slots in the file folder itself.

  • Patent number: 7264494
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly for a cable having a plurality of insulated conductors comprises a body having a respective recess for receiving a terminating pin each of the conductors. A respective spigot sealingly engages within each of the recesses and has a passage for receiving an associated one of the terminating pins. Furthermore a seal is associated with each of the spigots for sealing the spigot relative to the associated terminating pin. The provision of a separate spigot for each of the conductors and for sealing engagement within a respective recess in the body enables the spigots to be sealingly fitted to the conductors prior to each spigot being introduced into its recess and sealingly engaged therein. This provides improved insulation of the conductor and increased creepage distance between the mating electrical parts and the outer surface of the housing of the assembly.

  • Publication number: 20070106301
Abstract: A thin walled, hubbed cannula with an exterior diameter of approximately that of a 20 gauge surgical instrument and in interior bore having a diameter that is slightly larger than a 23 gauge or 25 gauge surgical instrument. The scleral contact surface of the hub of the adapter also can be rounded to provide a pivot point for the surgical instrument shaft, thereby reducing bending forces on the relatively thin shaft of the instrument.

  • Publication number: 20070050892
Abstract: A welder's helmet is provided including a welder's mask having a sight window and at least one opening in the mask for accommodating a filter cartridge of a respirator mask. The respirator mask is independently strapped to the user's head to assure proper airtight fit to the user's face. A foam mounting structure is formed from a plurality of spacer strips that allow the user to customize the spacing between the welder's mask and respirator mask to fit their individual size requirements. A pair of respirator cartridges can be utilized to extend from the sides of the welder's helmet so as not to provide an obstruction in front of the user's face.

  • Patent number: 7114053
Abstract: In some embodiments, a storage medium comprises application software that performs one or more operations and that directly facilitates the conversion of a virtual memory address to a physical memory address. The application software comprises instructions that initialize an application data structure (e.g., an object or array) usable by the application software to facilitate the conversion of memory addresses and also comprises instructions that store pointers to the virtual memory addresses to be converted. In other embodiments, a system comprising a secure and non-secure memory subsystem is disclosed. Before execution of an application stored in the secure sub-system, a list of pointers to parameters contained in virtual memory is created. The virtual memory addresses referenced by the pointers in the list are converted to pointers to physical memory addresses before execution of the application.

  • Patent number: 7086561
Abstract: A tubular golf ball-dispensing container holds multiple golf balls for individual distribution. The container includes a biased lid for selectively loading and unloading of golf balls. A spring loaded compression system presses the stack of golf balls into the lid for continuous dispensing of individual balls. Upon removal of a ball from the container, the biased lid closes and the next ball is forced into the dispensing cup in the lid. The container may be attached to other gold equipment including golf bags, golf carts, and pull carts. With the addition of a support structure, the container may stand alone, a usefully configuration for use at a driving range.
