  • Patent number: 11669427
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems and methods for query-attempt processing in a database environment. In an embodiment, a database platform receives a query, and operates a first query manager of the database platform to manage a first attempt to execute the query. Based on determining that the attempt to execute the query was unsuccessful, the database platform identifies a second query manager of the database platform as implementing a same version of the database platform as the first query manager, and operates the second query manager to manage a first retry attempt to execute the query.

  • Publication number: 20230168987
Abstract: Techniques for automated query retry in a database platform include decoding, by at least one hardware processor, a query directed to database data. The query is received by a first management node from a client account of a database system. The method further includes configuring an execution of the query by a first computing node associated with the first management node. The method includes detecting the execution of the query results in a failed execution. The query is transferred from the first management node to a second management node based on the failed execution. The second management node is configured to process tasks that are internal to the database system. A retry execution of the query by a second computing node is configured. The second computing node is associated with the second management node. A cause of the failed execution is determined based on a result of the retry execution.

  • Publication number: 20230168988
Abstract: Automated query retry includes selecting a first node of a plurality of nodes of an execution platform in response to a query. The first node is configured with a first version of a database platform. A first execution of the query is performed using the first version of the database platform at the first node. The method further includes detecting the first execution results in a failed execution. A second execution of the query is scheduled. The second execution uses at least one of the first version of the database platform or a second version of the database platform configured at a second node of the plurality of nodes. The second version is released after the first version. A cause of the failed execution of the query at the first node is determined based at least in part on a result of the second execution of the query.

  • Publication number: 20230165408
Abstract: A food preparation appliance, such as a blending, mixing, or food processing appliance, allows for rotatable blade movement by a drive and/or driven shaft relative to a jar holding contents along with movement of the jar relative to the blade in the axial direction of the drive and/or driven shaft. For example, a vertical or axial movement of the blade relative to the jar, or vice-versa can be guided within defined limits. Aspects provide the consumer with an intuitive and proactive way of preventing cavitation and improving the blending performance by allowing the user to manually and indirectly physically agitate the mixture with an up and down motion of the jar during a blending operation. This option for manual operation is part of the disclosed blender design, so is always and conveniently available to the consumer as an anti-cavitation method.

  • Publication number: 20230160686
Abstract: A low-coherence Fizeau interferometer includes a first beamsplitter, a test arm and a reference arm, the first beamsplitter splits light into a first portion of light directed to the test arm and a second portion of light directed to the reference arm, and an imaging arm comprising a first collimating lens, a flat reference surface, and a test element. The test arm focuses the first portion of light at a first focal point, such that a virtual image of the first focal point appears at a focal point of the test element. The reference arm focuses the second portion of light at a second focal point, the first collimating lens collimates the light that then reflects off the flat reference surface. The second beamsplitter directs the first portion of light to reflect off the test element. The reflection of the first and second portion of light form an interference pattern.

Abstract: A backwash filtration system comprising a backwash discharge port, a sedimentation collection and separation system, and a final filtration chamber. The backwash discharge port is coupled with a pool filter system and is configured to pass backwashed water from the pool filter system to the sedimentation collection and separation system. The sedimentation collection and separation system has a plurality of sedimentation chambers that are vertically stacked and a plurality of baffles configured to reduce the migration of sediment within the sedimentation chambers. A path for water flow passes down sequentially through each of the sedimentation chambers. The final filtration chamber receives the backwashed water from the sedimentation collection and separation system, filters the backwashed water through a final filtration medium, and passes the filtered water to a water return line of the pool filter system or to a pool of water.

  • Publication number: 20230140301
Abstract: In one or more arrangements, a heating system is provided having one or more heating panels positioned in a housing. The housing has a hollow interior with an open lower end. A first panel is positioned in the open lower end of the housing. The first heating panel includes a heating layer. The heating layer includes a conductive microfilm. A first electrical contact is connected to the conductive microfilm. A second electrical contact is connected to the conductive microfilm. In one or more arrangements, the conductive microfilm includes at least one layer of graphene or nanofiber carbon material. Application of a voltage difference between the first electrical contact and the second electrical contact causes current to flow through the conductive microfilm, thereby generating heat. • Patent number: 11639646
Abstract: Geomechanical parameters can be used to optimize a well configuration that includes one or more projected wells having locations and geometries. Formation data and regional stress information of a formation can be used to determine a local stress variation of the formation. A quality index can be generated by combining petrophysical properties with the local stress variation. Hydrocarbon recovery flow simulations can be generated by generating well configuration models based on the quality index, generating reservoir geomechanical model that includes hydraulic fracture propagation characteristics, determining new hydraulic fractures by simulating propagation through the reservoir geomechanical model and using geomechanical rules, and determining a projected hydrocarbon recovery rate by simulating flow with the new hydraulic fractures. A well placement plan can be selected using the projected hydrocarbon recovery rates. The well placement plan can be output to be used to plan one or more wellbores.

  • Publication number: 20230129158
Abstract: A manually operable disinfection wand provides to a user feedback indicating effectiveness of disinfection during treatment of a target surface. The disinfection wand comprises an illuminator section having an illuminator light source, a handle section, a coupling mechanism, and a position sensor. The coupling mechanism enables a user to rotate an illuminator cover in the illuminator section relative to the handle section to selectively allow passing of light emitted by the illuminator light source for incidence on the target surface. The illuminator cover can be rotated relative to the handle section also to block the light emitted by the illuminator light source. The position sensor is placed in the disinfection wand to produce for observation by the user a signal that is indicative of speed of motion of the disinfection wand and thereby its effectiveness in disinfecting the target surface.
