  • Patent number: 10466247
Abstract: A system and method are provided for utilizing radiometric fluorescence detection to determine a glucose independent concentration value when measuring frequency bands that do not contain the system isosbestic point. Preferably two bands are chosen such that a first band is below the system isosbestic point, and a second band is above the system isosbestic point, and both points are sufficiently far from the frequency endpoints to maximize the signal to noise ratio.

  • Patent number: 10410126
Abstract: A process for recommending choices to a user uses a first model representing the user's subconscious and a second model representing the user's consciousness. The process comprises receiving data and performing, using the second model, a simulation by modeling the user and a third party to derive a simulation result that determines how the user would react to a situation based at least in part on the received data. Using the first model and the simulation, a first set of recommendation choices based at least in part on the received data is derived, and a set of recommendation choices for presentation based on the first set of recommendation choices is determined and presented to the user. As the user is making a selection, the user is monitored for conscious decisions and subconscious reactions, which are used to update the first model and the second model.

  • Publication number: 20190212235
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A filter is coupled in fluid communication with and in parallel with a flow-monitoring device to receive the sampled aerosol stream from the aerosol sample inlet. The flow-monitoring device is configured to allow for a passage of particles contained in the sampled aerosol stream. A pressure sensor and a temperature sensor monitor the filter and the flow-monitoring device. An output from the filter and the flow-monitoring device may be directed to particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation. An actual dilution ratio of the output sent to the particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation is determined based on a nominal flowrate of the flow-monitoring device and thermodynamic properties of a gas comprising the aerosol stream. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.

Abstract: The various implementations described herein describe using an audio stream to identify metadata associated with a currently playing television program. In one aspect, a method is performed at a computing device having processors and memory storing programs to be executed by the processors. The computing device obtains audio description data of a video stream for a media program. The audio description data comprises a synchronized audio narrative describing what is happening visually in the media program. The computing device identifies a set of information items including one or more words in the audio description data. The computing device transmits the words to a server. After the transmitting, the computing device obtains from the server information of content files related to the words. In response to obtaining the information, the computing device causes the information to be displayed on an electronic device that is distinct from the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20180227641
Abstract: This application discloses a method for using closed captions to initiate display of related content. A computer system identifies a set of first information in closed captions of a video stream, and searches an identity database using the set of first information as queries. The identity database stores a plurality of identities, and each identity is associated with a name and an importance metric. The computer system identifies one or more identities in the identity database based on the respective importance metrics of the one or more identities, and obtains second information of one or more content files related to the identities identified in the identity database. Upon obtaining the second information, the computer system generates instructions to invoke an application for presenting the second information of the one or more content files to the user of the computing device.
