  • Patent number: 9836745
Abstract: Payment card transactions at a point of sale (POS) are secured in certain embodiments by intercepting, with a POS security layer installed on a POS terminal, payment data from the POS terminal, transmitting the payment data from the POS security layer to a server security application installed on a POS server, and providing false payment data from the POS security layer to a POS terminal application installed on the POS terminal. The false payment data in various embodiments is processed as if it were the payment data, such that the POS terminal transmits an authorization request to the POS server using the false payment data. In addition, the authorization request may be transmitted from the POS server to a payment gateway.

  • Patent number: 9818111
Abstract: One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a system and associated processes for sharing cardholder data (CHD) between a merchant that utilizes tokenization and a second merchant that may or may not utilize tokenization. In one embodiment, the merchant, or an employee of the merchant, can use the system and associated processes to reacquire CHD from a tokenization provider system. In one embodiment, the merchant identifies to the tokenization provider system a desire to share CHD, which is associated with a token, with a second merchant. The merchant and/or the tokenization provider system can then invite the second merchant to register with the tokenization provider system. Once registered with the tokenization provider system, the second merchant can access any CHD that the merchant associated with the second merchant.

  • Patent number: 9740194
Abstract: A machine can be accessed and controlled with the help of an interface device. The customizable interface device contains device elements that define features relating to the external representation and internal functionality of the interface device, as linked to one or more machines. An operator can use a configuration station to implement single or reoccurring queries that interact with the interface device and corresponding machines. In particular, the queries target the configuration of device elements in the interface device. The process can include temporarily unloading unused features from active memory and mirroring property changes initialized by a source. An emulator can assist in the configuration process by providing a preliminary software representation of the interface device hardware. A user can develop, test, and reconfigure functions on the emulator before loading the finalized platform to the interface device.

  • Patent number: 9726697
Abstract: A voltage proportional to a sum of currents flowing though first and second coupled inductors is developed across a first capacitor common to first and second series RC networks if the RC networks are time constant-matched to the inductors. The first and second inductors are coupled between a first and second switched drive phase input terminal, respectively, and an apparatus output terminal. The first and second RC networks are coupled in parallel with the first and second inductor, respectively. Inverting and non-inverting inputs of an amplifier are coupled to junctions of third and fourth time constant-matched series RC networks coupled in parallel with the first and second inductors, respectively. The amplifier subtracts voltages sensed at the junctions to generate a difference signal proportional to a magnitude difference of the currents flowing through the inductors.

  • Publication number: 20170204682
Abstract: Embodiments of a jumper tube connection assembly generally include a retention clip having beveled and locking surfaces, a retention clip frame, and a biasing means, wherein the clip is restrained partially within the frame and is pivotable in response to a jumper connector contacting the beveled surface during shunt tube engagement therewith, and wherein the biasing means positions the locking surface to prevent jumper connector reverse movement. Other embodiments generally include a retention clip having a locking component, a retention clip support, and a biasing means, wherein the clip is restrained partially within the support and is pivotable in response to force biasing the locking component away from a shunt tube during jumper connector engagement therewith, wherein upon force cessation the biasing means positions the locking component in engagement with a jumper connector orifice, thereby preventing disengagement thereof from the shunt tube. Methods of utilizing the embodiments are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9671765
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that assigns a respective priority level to each of a number of tuning algorithms controlling different tunable elements of a communication device. A first tuning algorithm is executed according to a first priority level assigned to the first tuning algorithm. A remaining number of the tuning algorithms are executed to determine whether the first tuning algorithm has affected a tuning state of any of the remainder of tuning algorithms. A second of the number of tuning algorithms is executed in response to a stability condition of the first tuning algorithm and according to a second priority level assigned to the second tuning algorithm. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9626248
Abstract: A method begins by a processing module of a dispersed storage network (DSN) detecting a likelihood of having a missing encoded data slice based on local physical to DSN address mapping information. When the likelihood of having the missing encoded data slice exists, the method continues with the processing module sending a query regarding the missing encoded data slice to another storage unit of the DSN and receiving a response to the query from the other storage unit. When the response includes identity of a related encoded data slice of a set of encoded data slices, the method continues with the processing module commencing execution of a rebuilding function to generate a new encoded data slice to replace the missing encoded data slice.
