  • Publication number: 20180183835
Abstract: A wireless apparatus controls physical access through a portal by forward verification of one-time-use codes submitted by a mobile application device. A system forward verifies a single physical access control code upon each successful physical access request. The apparatus sets a flag that triggers an action when a one-time-use code is received out of sequence. The controller receives a plurality of physical access requests from a plurality of mobile application devices. The controller determines for each mobile application device a sequence of access requests comprising at least a first access request and a second access request. Upon authenticating the first access request, the controller writes into storage a forward verification code specific to an immediately subsequent second access request from the same app device. Upon receiving a successor, the controller performs an authentication process by matching the stored forward verification code associated with the predecessor.

  • Publication number: 20180181428
Abstract: Migration of virtual machines within a computing environment is facilitated. A processor obtains a current virtual machine to host mapping in the computing environment, as well as a plurality of future virtual machine to host mappings. A current migration plan to migrate from a current state of the computing environment to another state of the computing environment is also obtained. Based on the current virtual machine to host mapping and one or more future virtual machine to host mappings of the plurality of future virtual machine to host mappings a determination is made that one or more potential alert conditions exist in the current migration plan. The current migration plan and/or one or more future virtual machine to host mappings are displayed. The current migration plan is adjusted to address at least one potential alert condition of the one or more potential alert conditions to improve processing within the computing environment.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for use in facilitating donation transactions to payment accounts. One exemplary method includes soliciting, by a computing device, a selection of a charity for a donation transaction, via an application programming interface (API), at a network-based interface affiliated with an issuer, in response to a donate input from a user authenticated to the network-based interface, and soliciting, by the computing device, a donation detail for the donation transaction, via the API, from the user. The method also includes, in response to the selection of the charity and the donation detail, identifying, by the computing device, in a user data structure, the payment account associated with the user and the issuer. And, the method further includes compiling an authorization request for the donation transaction based on the identified payment account and transmitting the authorization request to the issuer.

  • Publication number: 20180179031
Abstract: A clutch comprises an input shaft, an output shaft and a biasing member. The biasing member is arranged to provide a biasing force that allows torque transfer from the input shaft to the output shaft via one or more input friction plates and one or more output friction plates. Rotation of the output shaft may cause the biasing force to vary to adjust the maximum torque setting of the clutch during reeling-in or reeling-out of a winch cable around a winch drum. A retainer may be included in the clutch which retains the biasing member in operative connection with the output shaft and translates axially relative to the input shaft upon rotation of the output shaft. The axial translation may cause the biasing force to vary by varying the compression of the biasing member.
