The method and apparatus includes a packet descriptor for forwarding of Media Transport (MMT) packets in a network process of a switch or a router for processing MMT packets forwarding content expressed in a structure of an MMT standard. The method of managing a queue in a broadcasting system includes receiving a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) MMT packet, obtaining a header of the MMT packet, and queuing the MMT packet according to a type value of a bitrate included in the header of the MMT packet.

Abstract: A method for transmitting signaling information in a digital broadcasting system is provided. The method includes generating the signaling information for reception of a broadcast service, and transmitting the signaling information using at least one of a first transmission scheme and a second transmission scheme, which are different from each other in access time to a broadcast channel.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for transmitting/receiving a packet in a communication system. The present invention includes: the processes of determining at least one MPEG media transport (MMT) asset protected by an application layer forward error correction (AL-FEC); determining at least one FEC flow for transmitting the at least one MMT asset; determining the MMT asset transmitted from the at least one FEC flow in each case and determining an FEC coding structure to apply to the at least one FEC flow; producing at least one source flow by dividing the MMT asset transmitted from the at least one FEC flow on a transmission unit basis; and producing and transmitting at least one parity flow by performing AL-FEC encoding on the at least one source flow according to the FEC coding structure.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling media delivery in a multimedia transport network. The method includes transmitting composition information (CI) on media assets within a media package to be transmitted, to a user equipment (UE), packetizing the media assets of the media package to packets, transmitting some of the packets to the UE, receiving a feedback message including information on an available bitrate determined by the UE from the UE while the some of the packets are transmitted, selecting media data, which can be transmitted according to the available bitrate, from the media package by using asset delivery characteristics (ADCs) of the media assets within the media package, and packetizing the selected media data to packets and transmitting the packets to the UE.

Abstract: A method for transmitting media data in a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) Media Transport (MMT) system is provided. The method includes receiving a Media Processing Unit (MPU) fragmented into one or more Media Fragment Units (MFUs), generating one or more multimedia data packets each including a packet header and a payload, based on the MPU, and transmitting the one or more multimedia data packets to a terminal. A payload header included in the payload includes identification information indicating an MPU to which at least one MFU included in the payload belongs, and a counter indicating the number of the at least one MFU.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a Forward Error Correction (FEC) packet block including a plurality of FEC packets in a multimedia system are provided. The method includes generating a plurality of first FEC packet blocks by performing a first FEC encoding on a plurality of source symbols, each of the plurality of first FEC packet blocks including at least one source packet and at least one repair packet for repair of each of the at least one source packet, generating a second FEC packet block by performing a second FEC encoding on the plurality of first FEC packet blocks, the second FEC packet block including at least one repair packet for the plurality of first FEC packet blocks, and transmitting the second FEC packet block that includes, in header information of each of the at least one source packet and the at least one repair packet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for configuring a control message in a broadcasting system for supporting a multimedia service based on an interne protocol. To this end, control information to be recorded in a payload of a control message to be configured is generated based on a table selected from among a plurality of tables for defining the information related to the generation and consumption of a hybrid content when a message type of the control message to be configured is determined to be a type for providing information related to the generation and consumption of a hybrid content. In addition, the information related to the type of the selected table is recorded in an optional field of the control message to be configured.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of processing an object for an ancillary service associated with a broadcast service. A broadcast receiver establishes a session with surrounding sub device before an object execution time and transfers an object to the sub device with reference to a trigger or an EPG including object-related information when it becomes the object execution time. The sub device executes the object. According to the present invention, a user can use a broadcast service through the broadcast receiver, and an ancillary service associated with the broadcast service through a sub device such as a smart phone or a tablet.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for controlling a Remote User Interface Client (RUIC), on which a remote user interface is displayed, through another RUIC. A message including control information that indicates a control action corresponding to a user input at the other RUIC is received at the RUIC from the other RUIC. The RUIC determines whether the control information is predefined information or undefined information. When the control information is predefined information, the control information is delivered from a web server of the RUIC to an application of the RUIC, and a control operation corresponding to the control information is executed by the application. When the control information is undefined information, the received control information is delivered from the web server to the application through a remote control plug-in in the RUIC to execute the control operation corresponding to the control information by the application.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system providing broadcast service (BCAST) are disclosed. In the mobile broadcast system, a broadcast (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) unit comprises a transmitter for transmitting a Registration Key Material (RKM) request message for requesting delivery of an RKM for registration of the BCAST service of a terminal to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) unit managing subscriber information of the terminal, and a receiver for receiving an RKM request response message from the BSM unit. The RKM request message includes an identifier (ID) of the BCAST service, and the RKM request response message includes the ID of the BCAST service and the RKM. The transmitter transmits a Long-Term Key Message (LTKM) request message for requesting delivery of an LTKM provided to the terminal during subscription of the BCAST service to the BSM unit.

A service providing server inserts a content control access criteria descriptor into a transport stream and transmits content and the content control access criteria descriptor to the receiver through the transport stream. The receiver receives the transport stream and processes the content according to the content control access criteria descriptor, which can contain lock control information and coupon provision information. The lock control information indicates whether a control function of the receiver is locked or unlocked for specific content. The coupon provision information indicates whether a coupon available for the purchase of pay content is granted depending on execution of specific content.
