  • Patent number: 7105443
Abstract: A method for fabricating epitaxial cobalt disilicide layers uses a cobalt-nitride thin film. Epitaxial cobalt disilicide (CoSi2) layers are fabricated using a cobalt-nitride thin film in a salicide process, wherein a silicide is formed on source/drain regions and a polysilicon gate electrode of a nanoscale MOS transistor. Epitaxial CoSi2 layers can be fabricated on source/drain regions and a gate electrode of a silicon substrate using a cobalt-nitride thin film, without the formation of an interlayer between a cobalt layer and the silicon substrate.

  • Patent number: 7099072
Abstract: A direct optical modulation (DOM) type wavelength converter is provided. The provided wavelength converter is a gain-clamped semiconductor optical amplifier (GC-SOA), which does not require a continuous wave (CW) signal, or a semiconductor laser in itself, and reduces a coupling loss between the GC-SOA or the semiconductor laser and an optical fiber while improving an emission threshold of a laser. Therefore, the provided wavelength converter converts a wavelength of an input signal beam having a low intensity by controlling the intensity of the input signal.

Abstract: Is provided a method of forming a polymer waveguide for passive alignment to an optical fiber in an optical module. A groove mounting an optical fiber thereon is formed on a substrate, and a shielding layer pattern is formed to selectively shield the groove. Polymer layers for an optical waveguide, which extend to the shielding layer pattern, are formed on the substrate, and the layers are patterned, thereby forming a polymer waveguide. The shielding layer is removed, and the groove is exposed. An optical fiber aligned to the optical waveguide is mounted on the exposed groove.

  • Patent number: 7068248
Abstract: A single-chip column driver for organic light emitting diode (OLED) display is disclosed. Instead of using two column drivers for dual scan, the present invention uses one column driver driving both the upper and the lower OLED panels. The column driver has a two set of output circuitry: one for driving the upper panel and the other for driving the lower panel. The single chip solution of the present invention eliminates the problem of display uniformity without increasing the part count. The invention also enables independent control of RGB without further increasing the part count.

  • Publication number: 20060087868
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a flyback converter with a synchronous rectifier which is applied to a power supply of a portable computer such as a notebook PC. The flyback converter is operated in a critical conduction mode to turn on/off a main switch at a zero crossing point of an output voltage. The flyback converter is also adapted to supply a driving voltage to a synchronous switch using the output voltage. Therefore, there is no need for a secondary auxiliary coil of a transformer and for a Schottky diode to be connected in parallel with the synchronous switch, resulting in simplification in circuit design.
