A method may include receiving a control transmission from a base station, identifying a control channel search space organized according to a nested structure, the control channel search space including a plurality of control channel candidates associated with one or more control channel elements (CCEs) and an aggregation level, and searching the received control transmission to identify a control channel for the UE using the plurality of control channel candidates. Another method may include determining whether to reorder resource element group (REG) indices for a received control channel transmission based, at least in part, on a transmission mode associated with the control channel transmission. In some embodiments, by buffering streaming content simultaneously at two bitrate levels—e.g., one of the lowest bitrates and a better-quality bitrate, within the bandwidth limitations—rebuffering-caused gaps in playback of a higher quality (HQ) stream may be filled with a lower quality (LQ) stream. For instance, client-side dual buffers may store n segments from the HQ stream during a given time and a multiple of n number of segments from the LQ stream, thus allowing for many of the LQ segments to be output if the HQ stream is rebuffering. If a segment of content is beginning to be played back as an LQ segment, there is no reason to buffer the same segment from the HQ stream.

    Abstract: A method of analyzing the residual of a polymeric scale inhibitor in water containing SO42?, such as produced water, is disclosed. The water also contains a polymeric scale inhibitor that includes 2-acrylamino-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS). In the method, an amount of SO42? in a sample of the water is measured. A water soluble salt is introduced into the sample of water, and the salt removes SO42? from the water sample resulting in a low SO42? water sample. The low SO42? water sample is then analyzed, and the analysis includes: determining a sulfur level in the low SO42? water sample, and performing a thermodynamic scale prediction to calculate the amount of SO42? ions remaining in the low SO42? water sample. A concentration of the polymeric scale inhibitor in the water sample is then determined based on an inductively couple plasma (ICP) analysis.

The UE performs polar code encoding of information bits of the UCI for the first PUCCH repetition and the second PUCCH repetition based on the same mother polar code length. The UE transmits the first and the second PUCCH repetitions including the respective polar-encoded UCI.
