  • Publication number: 20130228431
Abstract: A high voltage (HV) interface housing is provided that includes an assembly of levers within the housing that detect whether or not the HV lines are coupled to the interface housing. If the HV lines are not in place, the lever assembly prevents the interface cover from being fully installed onto the interface housing, thereby preventing the HV interlock loop switch from being closed. As a result, when the HV cables are not in place, the HV interlock loop switch prevents power from being applied to the HV circuit. If, however, the HV lines are properly positioned within the interface housing, the levers of the lever assembly automatically retract, thus allowing the interface cover to be fully installed onto the interface housing. In this state, the interface cover closes the HV interlock loop switch, thus closing the HV interlock loop and allowing power to be applied to the HV circuit.

  • Patent number: 8510245
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method for determining a patient-specific probability of transplant glomerulopathy. The method collects clinical parameters from a plurality of patients to create a training database. A fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model is created using data from the training database; and, the fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network is validated. Clinical parameters are collected from an individual patient; and, such clinical parameters are input into the fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model via a graphical user interface. The patient-specific probability of transplant glomerulopathy is output from the fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model and sent to the graphical user interface for use by a clinician in pre-operative planning. The fully unsupervised Bayesian Belief Network model is updated using the clinical parameters from the individual patient and the patient-specific probability of transplant glomerulopathy.

  • Publication number: 20130157237
Abstract: A ski instructional apparatus and method for teaching young children that allows for dry land training of a student on skis. The apparatus includes a pole that the student straddles. The pole has a cross piece that extends behind the students legs and beneath the buttocks and handlebars for the student to hold onto. Pulling the pole forward causes the cross piece to push the student from behind so little or none of the student's arm strength is needed to pull the student on skis along a dry surface. The tips of the skis are connected by a tether and a line attached to the tether is connected to the pole. The arrangement allows the instructor to move the student forward and, at the same time, to move the ski tips one towards the other or allow the tips to move apart by respectively raising or lowering the pole.

  • Patent number: 8392912
Abstract: An application deployment model for enterprise applications to enable applications to be deployed to and executed from a globally distributed computing platform, such as an Internet content delivery network (CDN). According to the invention, application developers separate their Web application into two layers: a highly distributed edge layer and a centralized origin layer. In a representative embodiment, the edge layer supports a servlet container that executes a Web tier, typically the presentation layer of a given Java-based application. Where necessary, the edge layer communicates with code running on an origin server to respond to a given request. In an alternative embodiment, the edge layer supports a more fully-provisioned application server that executes both Web tier (e.g., presentation) and Enterprise tier application (e.g., business logic) components.

  • Publication number: 20120237681
Abstract: A system and method for creating and replicating foliage patterns comprising: a first stencil, where the first stencil forms the shape of a leaf; and a second stencil, where the second stencil forms the shape of an arrangement of veins and stems of a leaf, wherein a user may selectively arrange and attach the first and second stencil to create a foliage pattern. The leaf may include either an oak leaf or a maple leaf. The user may selectively apply at least one paint color to the stencils to create a depiction of the foliage pattern. • Publication number: 20120203873
Abstract: Content is dynamically assembled at the edge of the Internet, preferably on content delivery network (CDN) edge servers. A content provider leverages an “edge side include” (ESI) markup language that is used to define Web page fragments for dynamic assembly at the edge. Dynamic assembly improves site performance by caching objects that comprise dynamically-generated pages at the edge of the Internet, close to the end user. Instead of being assembled by an application/web server in a centralized data center, the application/web server sends a page template and content fragments to a CDN edge server where the page is assembled. Each content fragment can have its own cacheability profile to manage the “freshness” of the content. Once a user requests a page, the edge server examines its cache for the included fragments and assembles the page on-the-fly.
