Abstract: Data storage system conflict management techniques are described. In one example, data is sent by client devices to both a repository system and a search index system of a data storage system. Each of the client devices maintains, locally, records of changes to data of the repository system, e.g., through use of an invertible Bloom lookup table. The records are used as a basis by the client devices to send reports to an arbiter system and used to detect conflicts When detected, a conflict request is communicated to client devices involved in the conflict as well as to the repository system and responses used to generate a correction that is communicated to update the repository system and search index system.

Abstract: An improved method for investigating a functional behavior of a component of a technical installation includes comparing a signal of the component to be investigated and representing the functional behavior of the component with a reference signal which describes an average functional behavior of identical components. During the comparison, a comparison variable describing the deviation of the signal from the reference signal is determined. In addition, a probability of the occurrence of the comparison variable is determined by using a predefinable distribution of a multiplicity of such comparative variables. A computer program and a computer readable storage medium are also provided.

Abstract: A real-time neural radiance caching technique for path-traced global illumination is implemented using a neural network for caching scattered radiance components of global illumination. The neural (network) radiance cache handles fully dynamic scenes, and makes no assumptions about the camera, lighting, geometry, and materials. In contrast with conventional caching, the data-driven approach sidesteps many difficulties of caching algorithms, such as locating, interpolating, and updating cache points. The neural radiance cache is trained via online learning during rendering. Advantages of the neural radiance cache are noise reduction and real-time performance. Importantly, the runtime overhead and memory footprint of the neural radiance cache are stable and independent of scene complexity.

Abstract: A communication function is provided. An activation request to enable a communication profile in a first user equipment is received at a mobile network operator (MNO). The communication profile is associated with a user. A maximum number of communication profiles associated with the user can be provided at the same time. A number of communication profiles which are associated with the user and which are currently enabled are determined by the MNO. In response to determining that the number of communication profiles which are associated with the user and which are currently enabled is equal to the maximum number of communication profiles are determined, a communication profile associated with the user in a second UE is disabled, and a communication profile associated with the user in the first UE is enabled.

Abstract: A frame lock for a two-wheeler comprises a housing; a locking apparatus that is received in the housing; and a closing hoop that is movably supported at the housing between an open position and a closed position and that can be blocked in the closed position by means of the locking apparatus. The frame lock in this respect has two fastening sections having at least one respective hole and is configured to be fastened to the two-wheeler by screwing screws in a screw-in direction through the holes into threaded bushings provided at the two-wheeler. Abstract: Oxathiazin-like compounds, processes for making new oxathiazin-like compounds, compounds useful for making oxathiazin-like compounds, and their uses are disclosed. Processes of treating patients suffering from cancers, bacterial infections, fungal infections and/or viral infections by administering oxathiazin-like compounds are also disclosed. These compounds were found to have significantly longer half-life compared to taurolidine and taurultam.

Abstract: Neural network performance is improved in terms of training speed and/or accuracy by encoding (mapping) inputs to the neural network into a higher dimensional space via a hash function. The input comprises coordinates used to identify a point within a d-dimensional space (e.g., 3D space). The point is quantized and a set of vertex coordinates corresponding to the point are input to a hash function. For example, for d=3, space may be partitioned into axis-aligned voxels of identical size and vertex coordinates of a voxel containing the point are input to the hash function to produce a set of encoded coordinates. The set of encoded coordinates is used to lookup D-dimensional feature vectors in a table of size T that have been learned. The learned feature vectors are filtered (e.g., linearly interpolated, etc.) based on the coordinates of the point to compute a feature vector corresponding to the point.

The hierarchical representation can be reduced by removing search definitions unrelated to a target search definition. The search definitions in the reduced hierarchical representation can be focused by removing inapplicable elements or operations in the search definitions. Focusing the search definitions in the reduced hierarchical representation can include removing context-irrelevant elements and/or removing search-definition-irrelevant elements. The focused reduced hierarchical representation can be analyzed to identify implementation cruxes in the search definitions. Cruxes can include performance-impacting elements of the search definitions. The cruxes can be tagged and provided for redevelopment or analysis.
