  • Patent number: 10979891
Abstract: In a 5G network, new radios (NR) can be deployed as a standalone radio access technology or as a non-standalone radio access technology assisted by another radio access technology. Long-term evolution (LTE), which is widely deployed can provide seamless coverage and uninterrupted connectivity, however NRs can provide significantly increased data rates or new services. However, the deployment of NR can be limited to hotspots under the footprint of LTE. Therefore, dual connectivity between LTE and NR can be utilized for non-standalone NR because control plane functions can be sent over LTE while the data plane can be managed on NR, allowing for simplified NR deployments where device support for both LTE and NR is available.

  • Publication number: 20210105791
Abstract: Facilitating a time-division multiplexing pattern-based solution for a dual-subscriber identity module with a single radio in advanced networks (e.g., 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise obtaining, by a network device comprising a processor, multiple time-division multiplexing patterns applicable to a mobile device. The multiple time-division multiplexing patterns indicate respective repeating patterns of an on state and an off state of a defined identity of the mobile device. The method also can comprise facilitating, by the network device, a transmission, to the mobile device, of information indicative of the multiple time-division multiplexing patterns. In an example, the mobile device can be configured to operate with at least two subscriber identity modules.

  • Publication number: 20210105606
Abstract: One subscriber identity module (SIM) can transmit data in active mode while another SIM is in an idle mode. However, paging for the SIM in idle mode can occur based on a discontinuous reception configuration (DRX) cycle of the active SIM. For example, when the DRX of the active SIM indicates that the active SIM is in an idle state, then the SIM that is currently in an idle state can send messages and vice versa. The DRX cycle information can be exchanged between a first core network and a second core network. Each core network can belong to the same or different mobile network operator and can have separate radio access networks (RAN) or share the RAN. The DRX cycle information and/or a time-division multiplexing (TDM) pattern can be exchanged over the air via a system information broadcast message.

  • Publication number: 20210105078
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards sharing a radio by multiple subscriber identities at a device. A time division multiplexing pattern at the device radio gives primary radio use to a first subscriber identity, while also providing time windows for radio use to a second subscriber identity. In response to a communication by the second subscriber identity, the time division multiplexing pattern can be changed to give the primary radio use to the second subscriber identity. Also, a radio resource control protocol can designate appropriate states for the different subscriber identities, designating the subscriber identity with primary radio use as connected, while the other subscriber identity is designated as inactive or idle.

  • Publication number: 20210100007
Abstract: Facilitating fast multi-beam listen before talk in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a device can comprise determining a first inactivity in a first beam based on a first performance of a first listen before talk procedure in the first beam and, based on determining the first inactivity, analyzing a presence of an activity in a second beam based on a second performance of a second listen before talk procedure in the second beam. Further, the operations can comprise, based on determining a lack of the presence of the activity in the second beam, transmitting a signal via the second beam. In an example, analyzing the presence of the activity in the second beam can be performed prior to completion of the determining the first inactivity in the first beam.

  • Patent number: 10958511
Abstract: In a 5G network, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) deployment in a 5G network, can enable aggregation of multiple user equipment (UE) bearers into backhaul bearers based on factors such as route information of UE bearers and quality of service of UE bearers. Additionally, an adaptation layer can be configured to perform aggregation of data from UE bearers into backhaul bearers either above or below a radio link control layer. Thus, aggregation of data from UE bearers into backhaul bearers can be performed either above the RLC or below the RLC to take advantage of benefits from both options.

  • Patent number: 10951362
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed towards scheduling and Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) operations by which nodes in a three party communication system can communicate. To schedule a data transmission from a transmitter node to receiver node(s), a local manager/scheduler node sends common downlink control information to the transmitter and receiver nodes. Via a scheduling request, the transmitting node can request the scheduling of the data transmission by the local manager node. The technology facilitates unicast and broadcast/multicast data transmissions; for a unicast data transmission, the scheduling request identifies the receiving node. The transmitting node can explicitly acknowledge reception of the downlink control information to the local manager node, or the local manager node can detect the data transmission, when it occurs, as an implicit acknowledgment that the common downlink control information was successfully received.

  • Publication number: 20210075553
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed towards highly reliable Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) retransmission procedures, including to provide different levels of reliability for Sidelink transmissions. A scheduler node schedule a data transmission by a transmitter node, and can receive (and store) the data packet transmission. If the scheduler node receives a negative acknowledgement (NAK) from the receiver node, the scheduler node can allocate resources to the transmitter node to perform a retransmission of the data packet, and/or retransmit a copy of the data packet from the scheduler node to the receiver node. The scheduler node can inform the receiver node that a retransmission is being sent by the transmitter node and the scheduler node.

  • Publication number: 20210067280
Abstract: Facilitating configurable hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback types for new radio sidelink communication can be performed for a 5G wireless network. Based on whether reception of data was successful or not, a reception node can send acknowledgement (ACK) data or negative acknowledgement (NACK) data to a base station using an uplink control signal. Therefore, the feedback data can be used to manage subsequent resource allocation decisions within the 5G wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20210051695
Abstract: In a 5G network, a pre-emptive scheduling request (SR) and a pre-emptive buffer status report (BSR) can be used to reduce the latency of data transmissions on the upstream of a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network from the user equipment UE to the IAB-donor node. • Publication number: 20210051612
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards over the air synchronization of network nodes. In general, the techniques disclosed herein can be implemented by a first base station node device and a second base station node device. A wireless backhaul connection between the base station node devices allows the first base station node device to connect to a core network via the second base station node device. The techniques disclosed herein can be implemented as a protocol including communications back and forth between the base station node devices, which enables measurement of communication delays such as propagation delays and processing delays. The base station node devices can then use the measured communication delays to better synchronize clocks used to time radio frequency transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20210037602
Abstract: A closed loop carrier sense multiple access multiuser request to send and clear to send handshaking system is provided to efficiently allocate licensed and unlicensed spectrum for a plurality of mobile devices and across different base stations and mobile network operators. A user equipment device can be connected to a base station device via a first frequency in licensed spectrum, and a second frequency in unlicensed spectrum. The air interface on the first frequency can then be used to coordinate physical and virtual carrier sensing on a second frequency among a plurality of user equipment devices. Moreover, carrier sensing results from a plurality of UEs can be reported a base station device via the first frequency in licensed spectrum. The base station device can then schedule multiple user multiple input, multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmissions to a plurality of UEs on the second frequency in unlicensed spectrum.
