  • Patent number: 11258485
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for an enhanced timing advance scheme to support MU-MIMO in an integrated access and backhaul system. The timing advance scheme disclosed herein aligns the arrival time between backhaul links and access links to enable MU-MIMO gain at the receiver side. In the integrated access and backhaul system, which comprises distributed nodes, the timing advance offset for an access link transmission (a transmission to a node further away in hops from the core network, or to a user equipment device) can be modified by offsetting it with the timing advance of the backhaul link (e.g., from a parent node). This enables the arrival time for transmissions, both access link transmissions from the UE or child node, and backhaul link transmissions from a parent node to arrive at the same time.

  • Patent number: 11259312
Abstract: Facilitating a time-division multiplexing pattern-based solution for a dual-subscriber identity module with a single radio in advanced networks (e.g., 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise obtaining, by a network device comprising a processor, multiple time-division multiplexing patterns applicable to a mobile device. The multiple time-division multiplexing patterns indicate respective repeating patterns of an on state and an off state of a defined identity of the mobile device. The method also can comprise facilitating, by the network device, a transmission, to the mobile device, of information indicative of the multiple time-division multiplexing patterns. In an example, the mobile device can be configured to operate with at least two subscriber identity modules.

  • Patent number: 11251839
Abstract: Various aspects of the technology described herein are directed towards a generalized beam management framework in which beam management takes into account interference to steer a beam. Aspects comprise configuring a report request comprising a resource setting with channel state information-reference signal resource data and an associated report setting with parameter data corresponding to the one or more channel state information-reference signal resources. The report request is configured to instruct a user equipment device to include interference information when performing user equipment device beam management and reporting. Upon receiving the report request, the user equipment performs a beam measurement operation that includes interference information when generating the beam management report sent to the network device.

  • Publication number: 20220029767
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for efficient configuration of demodulation reference signals in beamformed wireless communications systems. In an embodiment, the transmitter can signal the location of demodulation reference signals (DMRS) by including an indicator bit in downlink control information indicating which DMRS scheme is used in the transmission. A first DMRS scheme can let the user equipment (UE) device know that the DMRS position for the PDSCH carrying the RMSI is as signaled on the master information block (MIB)—referred to as PDSCH Mapping Type A. A second DMRS scheme can let the UE device know that the DMRS position for the PDSCH carrying the RMSI is the first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of said PDSCH allocation—referred to as PDSCH mapping type B).

  • Patent number: 11219051
Abstract: In a 5G network, a pre-emptive scheduling request (SR) and a pre-emptive buffer status report (BSR) can be used to reduce the latency of data transmissions on the upstream of a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network from the user equipment UE to the IAB-donor node. A centralized unit (CU) can uniformly ensure that the pre-emptive SR/BSR feature is turned on or off across the entire IAB network regardless of which vendor provides the IAB nodes. Additionally, a message can be sent from a gNodeB to the CU to the IAB node to indicate whether the pre-emptive SR/BSR triggering feature is turned on or off.

  • Patent number: 11212858
Abstract: The same or similar physical signals can be used for both user equipment (UE) and an integrate access backhaul (IAB) node. Different configurations of the resources and/or transmission periods of the signals can be used for initial access for access UEs and IAB nodes. In addition, to support topology formation, mobility/multi-connectivity procedures, and backhaul link management, periodic measurements and reports can be configured by a parent IAB node to a child IAB node UE function. This can comprise radio resource management (RRM), radio link monitoring (RLM), and beam management (L1-BM) measurements and reports.

  • Patent number: 11212022
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards sharing a radio by multiple subscriber identities at a device. A time division multiplexing pattern at the device radio gives primary radio use to a first subscriber identity, while also providing time windows for radio use to a second subscriber identity. In response to a communication by the second subscriber identity, the time division multiplexing pattern can be changed to give the primary radio use to the second subscriber identity. Also, a radio resource control protocol can designate appropriate states for the different subscriber identities, designating the subscriber identity with primary radio use as connected, while the other subscriber identity is designated as inactive or idle.

  • Patent number: 11197246
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for power control system in a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network. In a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network a donor node can communicate with user equipment devices and relay nodes that have varying power levels, and to avoid receiving uplink transmissions with varying power levels which can impact automatic gain control systems and lower overall throughput, the power control system disclosed herein can manage the power levels of the relay node in order to reduce the difference in power levels. In one embodiment, the power control system can schedule relay node devices to transmit uplink transmissions alongside UE devices that have a high signal strength. In another embodiment, the power control system can schedule relay nodes and UE devices to separate symbols within a time slot.

  • Publication number: 20210377723
Abstract: One subscriber identity module (SIM) can transmit data in active mode while another SIM is in an idle mode. However, paging for the SIM in idle mode can occur based on a discontinuous reception configuration (DRX) cycle of the active SIM. For example, when the DRX of the active SIM indicates that the active SIM is in an idle state, then the SIM that is currently in an idle state can send messages and vice versa. The DRX cycle information can be exchanged between a first core network and a second core network. Each core network can belong to the same or different mobile network operator and can have separate radio access networks (RAN) or share the RAN. The DRX cycle information and/or a time-division multiplexing (TDM) pattern can be exchanged over the air via a system information broadcast message.

  • Publication number: 20210360618
Abstract: Integrate access and backhaul (IAB) nodes can multiplex access and backhaul links in time, frequency, or space, which includes the transmission of signals and/or channels utilized as part of initial access and measurements used for radio resource management (RRM). The same physical layer signals and channels used for these purposes by access a user equipment device can be reused for performing similar procedures at the IAB node. Consequently, the IAB node can leverage various muting patterns to employ the use of half-duplex and full-duplex synchronization signal block radio resource management such that mobile terminal functionality and distributed unit functionality of the IAB node can receive and transmit signals simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20210352566
Abstract: An enhanced handover procedure is provided to facilitate communication routing changes in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. In an IAB network a network node can be connected to the core network via multiple different paths, and when the path changes, (e.g., when an intermediate network node performs a handover procedure with another network node), messages can be sent to relevant network nodes informing them of the route change so as to reduce the number of protocol data units (PDUs) that are transmitted to network nodes that are no longer part of the communication path to the target network node. The network node that is no longer part of the communication path can also inform a parent node of which PDUs have been successfully transmitted to the target network node so that the parent node can retransmit the PDUs that were not transmitted successfully.
