  • Patent number: 11329767
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed towards highly reliable Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) retransmission procedures, including to provide different levels of reliability for Sidelink transmissions. A scheduler node schedule a data transmission by a transmitter node, and can receive (and store) the data packet transmission. If the scheduler node receives a negative acknowledgement (NAK) from the receiver node, the scheduler node can allocate resources to the transmitter node to perform a retransmission of the data packet, and/or retransmit a copy of the data packet from the scheduler node to the receiver node. The scheduler node can inform the receiver node that a retransmission is being sent by the transmitter node and the scheduler node.

  • Publication number: 20220140870
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for an enhanced timing advance scheme to support MU-MIMO in an integrated access and backhaul system. The timing advance scheme disclosed herein aligns the arrival time between backhaul links and access links to enable MU-MIMO gain at the receiver side. In the integrated access and backhaul system, which comprises distributed nodes, the timing advance offset for an access link transmission (a transmission to a node further away in hops from the core network, or to a user equipment device) can be modified by offsetting it with the timing advance of the backhaul link (e.g., from a parent node). This enables the arrival time for transmissions, both access link transmissions from the UE or child node, and backhaul link transmissions from a parent node to arrive at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20220132521
Abstract: Facilitating a time-division multiplexing pattern-based solution for a dual-subscriber identity module with a single radio in advanced networks (e.g., 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise obtaining, by a network device comprising a processor, multiple time-division multiplexing patterns applicable to a mobile device. The multiple time-division multiplexing patterns indicate respective repeating patterns of an on state and an off state of a defined identity of the mobile device. The method also can comprise facilitating, by the network device, a transmission, to the mobile device, of information indicative of the multiple time-division multiplexing patterns. In an example, the mobile device can be configured to operate with at least two subscriber identity modules.

  • Publication number: 20220132508
Abstract: The technology is generally directed towards multiplexing access and backhaul traffic across multiple hops of a wireless backhaul network with multiple parent links. The technology facilitates efficient utilization of radio resources by enabling dynamic adaptation of available downlink and uplink (DL/UL) resources for access and backhaul links between an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node and donor/parent IAB nodes based on the different multiplexing capabilities at a given IAB node. A child node can multiplex DL/UL resources used for access and backhaul links in semi-static and/or dynamic operations with over-the-air signaling. The technology allows parent nodes to dynamically coordinate resources, and allows flexible patterns of DL/UL resources and multiplexing operations to be coordinated across multiple parent backhaul links, including semi-persistent resource allocation.

  • Publication number: 20220132499
Abstract: Dynamic frame structure coordination is performed between a parent integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node and child IAB node based on one or more multiplexing options. The parent node sends a dynamic frame structure coordination (DFSC) message to an IAB user equipment function of a child node, indicating that resources are available or released, overriding a semi-statically coordinated and configured downlink/uplink resource pattern. The parent node can make, or the child node can request, the modification. The DFSC message includes multiplexing option(s). The child IAB node's user equipment function communicates the frame structure update to the child node's distributed unit function, which allows the distributed unit function to utilize those resources in accordance with the multiplexing option.

  • Publication number: 20220132381
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed to supporting user plane adaptation via mobile relays based on the integrated access and backhaul (IAB) features of 5G New Radio. In various aspects, signaling and procedures are provided for reconfiguring radio bearers of a group of one or more user equipment (UE) devices over multiple routes during IAB topology adaptation procedures, including in scenarios with and without a need to update security key parameters at UEs. The signaling and procedures, in both single connectivity and multi-connectivity scenarios, facilitate access UE devices maintaining user plane connectivity to their anchor serving cell, even when a mobile IAB node to which the UE devices are connected performs a mobility procedure (e.g., handover or SCG change).

  • Patent number: 11283517
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards dynamic resource coordination that supports multi-hop based relaying for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) in New Radio (5G). Described is a technology in which an IAB node and a serving parent node use wireless signaling to dynamically adapt downlink and uplink resources used for access and backhaul links. An IAB node receives scheduling data from a parent node, configures a frame structure comprising mobile termination function subframes and distributed unit component subframes, and communicates data based on the frame structure. The parent node explicitly or implicitly indicates that a portion of the scheduling data is adaptable, e.g., sends a dynamic frame structure coordination message. In response, the IAB node can adapt the frame structure into a modified frame structure and can communicate further data based on the modified frame structure.

  • Publication number: 20220085903
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards sharing a radio by multiple subscriber identities at a device. A time division multiplexing pattern at the device radio gives primary radio use to a first subscriber identity, while also providing time windows for radio use to a second subscriber identity. In response to a communication by the second subscriber identity, the time division multiplexing pattern can be changed to give the primary radio use to the second subscriber identity. Also, a radio resource control protocol can designate appropriate states for the different subscriber identities, designating the subscriber identity with primary radio use as connected, while the other subscriber identity is designated as inactive or idle.

  • Publication number: 20220086889
Abstract: In a 5G network, a pre-emptive scheduling request (SR) and a pre-emptive buffer status report (BSR) can be used to reduce the latency of data transmissions on the upstream of a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network from the user equipment UE to the IAB-donor node. A centralized unit (CU) can uniformly ensure that the pre-emptive SR/BSR feature is turned on or off across the entire IAB network regardless of which vendor provides the IAB nodes. Additionally, a message can be sent from a gNodeB to the CU to the IAB node to indicate whether the pre-emptive SR/BSR triggering feature is turned on or off.

  • Publication number: 20220060995
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a power control system in a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network. In the multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network, a donor node can communicate with user equipment devices and relay nodes that have varying power levels; and to avoid receiving uplink transmissions with varying power levels which can impact automatic gain control systems and lower overall throughput, the power control system can manage the power levels of the relay node in order to reduce the difference in power levels. The power control system can schedule relay node devices to transmit uplink transmissions alongside user equipment devices that have a high signal strength; schedule relay nodes and user equipment devices to separate symbols within a time slot; and/or perform closed loop power control management at the relay node to reduce the power level for an uplink transmission.
