  • Publication number: 20210329696
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a closed loop Listen Before Talk (LBT) which is a coexistence mechanism used by wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, to access unlicensed shared spectrum, such as the ISM UNII bands (5 GHz). The embodiments disclosed herein enable a base station to coordinate the LBT process at both the base station and a receiver in order to avoid hidden node interference where the interfering nodes are outside the sensing range of the transmitting node. The base station device can send a LBT trigger to the receiver to synchronize the clear channel assessments that are performed at each device to determine if there is any activity on the channel. The receiving device can send back a report to the base station device, and if no activity on the channel is detected, the base station device can schedule a transmission on the channel.

  • Publication number: 20210328911
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards lossless delivery of data when there are route changes, e.g., in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) multi-hop relay network. When a route changes is to occur, the last unchanged node in a multiple hop route preserves the data (e.g., copies unacknowledged and unsent PDCP PDUs from the protocol stack corresponding to the radio link control layer of the failed relay hop, and populates a replacement protocol stack for the node in the new route with the preserved data. Also described is pre-emptive detection of link failure, which triggers a route change based on monitoring retransmissions to detect a deteriorating link, which can occur before complete link communication failure.

  • Publication number: 20210306129
Abstract: Time domain resource allocation is facilitated for a physical downlink shared channel. For instance, a physical downlink shared channel associated with a mobile device can be configured via a broadcast channel, and a data structure associated with the physical downlink shared channel corresponding to a physical downlink control channel can also be configured. The configured data structure can be sent to the mobile device to be utilized for physical downlink shared channel transmissions between the wireless network device and the mobile device. Additionally, the time domain resources can be allocated by transmitting a physical downlink shared channel transmission to the mobile device based on a condition associated with a radio resource control connection being determined to not have been satisfied.

  • Publication number: 20210297973
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards over the air synchronization of network nodes. In general, the techniques disclosed herein can be implemented by a first base station node device and a second base station node device. A wireless backhaul connection between the base station node devices allows the first base station node device to connect to a core network via the second base station node device. The techniques disclosed herein can be implemented as a protocol including communications back and forth between the base station node devices, which enables measurement of communication delays such as propagation delays and processing delays. The base station node devices can then use the measured communication delays to better synchronize clocks used to time radio frequency transmissions.

  • Patent number: 11129037
Abstract: A cross link interference (CLI) measurement system is disclosed. The cross link interference measurement system can measure both unconstrained CLI that do not require any special constraints on the frame structure, and constrained CLI that does require special constraints on the frame structure (e.g., measurement gaps). The system does this in part by not only measuring reference signal received powers, but also determining load based on a power scaling of a reference signal and based on angle of arrival determinations.

  • Publication number: 20210289479
Abstract: To increase network efficiency, a user equipment (UE) can be appointed as a local manager to coordinate the allocation of resources used by other UEs. For example, the network can promote the UE as a local manager and assign the local manager a resource pool. The local manager can then broadcast synchronization signals to let the other UEs associate themselves with the local manager. After the other UEs are synced with the local manager, the local manager can allocate resources to the other UEs. Based on report data regarding the local managers management procedures, the network can maintain the UE as the local manager or demote the UE from local manager status.

  • Patent number: 11121834
Abstract: Coordinate multi-point (CoMP) transmission is facilitated by resolving collisions between feedback reporting. Based upon the conditions within the network, collision resolution may be by dropping a channel report during a subframe, multiplexing channel reports from a plurality of user equipment, compressing channel reports a plurality of user equipment, and combined reporting, either through joint reports or by using carrier aggregation, for conditions between a user equipment and a plurality of transmission points. New signaling and reporting formats facilitate selection of a collision resolution suitable for current network conditions.

  • Publication number: 20210266796
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards overcoming a radio link interruption event, for example caused in the mmWave spectrum by a physical blockage between user equipment and a communications network distributed unit. Described is executing an inter-distributed unit beam switch in response to a radio link interruption trigger when no beams are available to support the user equipment from the distributed unit currently serving the user equipment. The inter-distributed unit beam switch may be performed by notifying a flow control process of the radio link interruption, which can switch to a different distributed unit such as selected by beam quality measurements.

  • Publication number: 20210266889
Abstract: To facilitate signal alignment for an integrated access backhaul (IAB) node, a system can determine a subset of beams that can be used for communication transmissions. Based on a signal quality associated with the subset of beams, the system can indicate that the subset of beams is to be used for the communication transmission. Consequently, the subset of the beams or another subset of the subset of the beams can be utilized for the communication transmission based on the signal quality of the beams.

  • Patent number: 11102703
Abstract: An enhanced handover procedure is provided to facilitate communication routing changes in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. In an IAB network a network node can be connected to the core network via multiple different paths, and when the path changes, (e.g., when an intermediate network node performs a handover procedure with another network node), messages can be sent to relevant network nodes informing them of the route change so as to reduce the number of protocol data units (PDUs) that are transmitted to network nodes that are no longer part of the communication path to the target network node. The network node that is no longer part of the communication path can also inform a parent node of which PDUs have been successfully transmitted to the target network node so that the parent node can retransmit the PDUs that were not transmitted successfully.

  • Patent number: 11096040
Abstract: One subscriber identity module (SIM) can transmit data in active mode while another SIM is in an idle mode. However, paging for the SIM in idle mode can occur based on a discontinuous reception configuration (DRX) cycle of the active SIM. For example, when the DRX of the active SIM indicates that the active SIM is in an idle state, then the SIM that is currently in an idle state can send messages and vice versa. The DRX cycle information can be exchanged between a first core network and a second core network. Each core network can belong to the same or different mobile network operator and can have separate radio access networks (RAN) or share the RAN. The DRX cycle information and/or a time-division multiplexing (TDM) pattern can be exchanged over the air via a system information broadcast message.
