    Abstract: In the AC etching of aluminum foil in a hydrochloric acid electrolyte containing at least one additive, the presence of 200 to 500 ppm sulfate permits etching thicker foil for higher voltage use than is possible without the sulfate. The additive is chosen from phosphoric, nitric, and tartaric acids or salts. The presence of the relatively small amount of sulfate yields a foil with higher capacitance and generally allows lower temperatures and frequencies to be used.

    Abstract: A method of preparation of polymer-asphalt (bitumen) compositions which comprises mixing, with agitation, at a temperature of 130.degree. to 230.degree. C., 80 to 98% by weight of an asphalt having a penetration between 30 to 220, and 2 to 20% by weight of a polyblock copolymer of a styrene-carboxylated conjugated diene having a mean molecular weight of 30,000 to 300,000, and maintaining this mixture for at least 2 hours at this temperature, then adding 0.1 to 3% of elemental sulfur, based on the asphalt, while maintaining the same conditions of agitation and temperature for at least 20 minutes, the carboxylated conjugated diene sequence being selected from the group consisting of carboxylated polybutadiene and carboxylated polyisoprene.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic deflection yoke for a cathode ray tube (CRT) stroke display system is operated above its resonant frequency to allow faster writing speeds and the use of a single pair of XY deflection yokes for both position and write deflection. Operation above resonant frequency is accomplished by the inclusion of a second-order feedback network tuned to the frequency characteristics of the deflection yoke and associated shunt capacitance. Differing from prior art systems, the current applied as a feedback signal to an input of the yoke driver amplifier in a closed loop system is directly proportional to actual, instantaneous inductive component of the yoke current and to this component only.
