  • Publication number: 20150156689
Abstract: A user equipment performs downlink measurement on neighbour cells, but the measurement performance on a target cell (in terms of measurement period/sampling/accuracy etc) is dependent on the relative performance difference between the target cell and a reference cell. The reference cell may be the serving cell, or may be the strongest cell. The network is thus able to keep track of the required number of target cells without degrading the measurement performance of important cells. The UE on the other hand is still able to save its battery as much as possible while making full use of DRX.

  • Publication number: 20150144285
Abstract: The invention relates to a diecasting die, in particular in a diecasting hot-runner system, wherein the diecasting die is provided in a feeding region for forming a plug of solidified molten material that interrupts a flow of the molten material and can be completely remelted. A diecasting die is provided according to the preamble of the invention that is suitable for different molten materials, in which a heating acts directly on the molten material with high power and largely without delay. Cooling is not required and the injection-moulding method can be carried out at a high operating machine speed and under feeding conditions that can be monitored and reproduced well. A feeding region is provided comprising direct resistance heating that produces a melting heat and is in direct thermal contact with the molten material.

  • Patent number: 9042835
Abstract: Measurement handling is of interest in a user equipment (UE) in connected mode, with the UE being configured with multiple downlink component carriers (CCs). The UE evaluates the signal quality of a specific CC of the configured CCs against a configurable threshold to determine the need for neighbor cell measurements. The UE performs neighbor cell measurements if the signal quality of the specific CC is below the configurable threshold. In this way, robust and efficient measurement handling is provided, even though the UE is configured with multiple component carriers.

  • Publication number: 20150141047
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and devices for supporting configuration of a measurement gap pattern for a user equipment requiring measurement gaps for performing an inter-frequency measurement. A radio network node receives an indication from the user equipment that the user equipment is going to perform an inter-frequency measurement for positioning, which inter-frequency measurement requires measurement gaps. The radio network node may determine a measurement gap pattern for performing the inter-frequency measurement and may signal, to the user equipment, information to initiate use of the determined measurement gap pattern in the user equipment. Alternatively the user equipment configures the measurement gap pattern itself based on a set of pre-defined rules.

  • Patent number: 9031564
Abstract: An indication of the speed of movement of a UE in a radio communications system is received (801) at a network node of the radio communications system. The parameters of the radio communications system are then analyzed (803) using the speed of movement indication. The system parameters are then adjusted (805) using the analysis.

  • Publication number: 20150119099
Abstract: A user equipment is provided for a telecommunications system comprising at least a first radio base station. The user equipment controls its transmission power to a first value for a first set of one or more signals sent over a physical channel between the user equipment and the first radio base station, and to a second value for a second set of one or more signals sent over the physical channel between the user equipment and the first radio base station. The first value and said second value are different. In alternative embodiments, the second set of signals are transmitted taking into account information from the serving cell and a neighbouring cell, while the first set of signals are transmitted taking into account information from the serving cell only.

  • Publication number: 20150119040
Abstract: The embodiments disclosed relates to a method and a network node that determines a time period between a first handover and a second handover of a user equipment. The first handover is to or from a first cell and the second handover is to or from a second cell. The network node sets a threshold value based on a difference in cell quality between the first cell and the second cell. The difference in cell quality is associated with the first or second handover. The network node then determines the type of handover, of time period at least one of the first and second handover, based on the time period and threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20150092686
Abstract: According to several disclosed techniques, a wireless network provides assistance information to a mobile terminal for cell selection at re-establishment of a connection after a radio link failure. An example method is implemented in a mobile terminal served in a first cell of a wireless network, and includes receiving (510) a configuration message from the network, the configuration message identifying at least one carrier frequency. Upon subsequently losing connection with the first cell without receiving a handover command, the mobile terminal initiates (520) a cell search using the identified at least one carrier frequency, based on the configuration message.

  • Patent number: 8948764
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and devices for mobility management in a cellular communications system. A user equipment maintains (21) at least two sets of mobility trigger parameters. Each set of mobility trigger parameters corresponds to a predetermined user equipment speed range. The user equipment determines (22) a speed range that the speed of the user equipment falls into and selects (23), based on the determined speed range, at least one set of mobility trigger parameters to be used for performing mobility-based decisions. If the user equipment is in connected mode a network base station may select a set of mobility trigger parameters to be used for performing handover decisions based on a determined speed range of the user equipment. Advantages are that ping-pong mobility decisions may be avoided and it is sufficient to determine a range for the UE speed, which is less complicated than determining an accurate speed of the UE particularly in idle mode.

  • Publication number: 20150029980
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) (20) has multiple transceivers, each having a corresponding receiver configured to communicate on respective carriers. The UE (20) monitors a radio access network (RAN) (16) on a serving cell using a first of the receivers, and indicates to the base station (80) that at least one of its receivers will temporary tune-out from the RAN (16). The base station (80) receives the indication from the UE (20), and temporarily suspends communications with the UE (20).

  • Patent number: 8942696
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangement in a cellular communication system, in particular to methods and arrangements in a user equipment and a network node for reporting cell measurement results. The present invention provides improved methods and arrangements for reporting cell measurements without significantly increasing the complexity in the cell measurement procedure. The user equipment reports the number of transmit antenna ports used for performing cell measurements on each of the neighbouring cell in its measurement report to the network node. The network node receives the number of transmit antenna ports which enables the network to be aware of the actual number of antenna ports that are used for cell measurements.

  • Publication number: 20150018036
Abstract: A device and method for controlling communications between a User Equipment (UE) (20) and a base station (BS) (90) in a radio access network (RAN) (16) is provided. The UE (20) indicates to the BS (90) in the RAN (16) that a transceiver at the UE (20) will temporarily suspend communications with the RAN (16). The BS (90) acknowledges the indication from the UE (20) and temporarily suspends communications with the UE (20). Responsive to the acknowledgement from the BS (90), the UE (20) temporarily suspends communications between the transceiver and the RAN (16). The UE (20) then resumes communications between the transceiver and the BS (90) in the RAN (16).

  • Publication number: 20140364124
Abstract: A relay node for a radio access network, arranged to be a relay node between one or more User Equipments in a cell of the radio access network and a base station serving the cell. The relay node is arranged to identify itself as a relay node in the cell in the radio access network, and is also arranged to receive a non-support indication indicating that the base station serving the cell is unable to support a relay node. The relay node is arranged to, upon receiving said non-support indication, attempt to establish itself as a relay node in another cell.
