  • Publication number: 20020129321
Abstract: A front-end signal-processing device having an automatic gain-control function used in the analog-to-digital conversion. The circuit comprises a buffer circuit, an amplifying/attenuating circuit, a pre-processing gain-adjusting circuit and an amplification/attenuation gain-adjusting circuit. In the front-end signal-processing device having an automatic gain-control function used in the analog-to-digital conversion, a set of gain-adjusting signals S1 and S2 are produced by hardware for controlling the amplification or attenuation gain of signals, thereby automatically adjusting the amplitude of the input signals. In addition, the microprocessor can select an appropriate restoring parameter according to the gain-adjusting signals to ensure that the numeral result conforms to the original input signal.

  • Publication number: 20020120082
Abstract: It is important for rubbery polymers that are used in tires, hoses, power transmission belts and other industrial products to have good compatibility with fillers, such as carbon black, silica, clay (including organoclays), and mixtures thereof. To attain improved interaction with fillers such rubbery polymers can be functionalized with various compounds, such as amines. • Patent number: 6423287
Abstract: This invention concerns a method for production of AlN powder. The reactants discovered in the invention are aluminum powder and a compound which contains NHx (e.g. NH2, NH3, NH4, N2H4, and N2H6 etc.) or halogens and which can be thermally decomposed or vaporized below the melting point of Al (660° C.). These two reactants are mixed at an appropriate ratio and then pressed into a compact with an appropriate shape. These two reactants, after being mixed at an appropriate ratio, may also be placed in a refractory container which has an opening at one end or has porous walls. In preparing the reactant compact or the reactant mixture, a dilutant such as AlN powder may also be added and mixed with the two reactants. This reactant compact or reactant mixture is then placed in a reaction chamber which is filled with nitrogen. By heating the reactant compact or the reactant mixture, the combustion synthesis reaction is ignited and AlN powder is produced.

  • Publication number: 20020086961
Abstract: The process and catalyst system of this invention can be utilized to synthesize polybutadiene rubber having a high trans content and a low melting point by solution polymerization. The trans-polybutadiene rubber made by the process of this invention can be utilized in tire tread rubbers that exhibit outstanding wear characteristics. More importantly, the trans-polybutadiene rubber of this invention can be easily processed because of its low level of crystallinity. In fact, the trans-polybutadiene made by the process of this invention does not need to be heated in a “hot-house” before being used in making rubber compounds.

  • Publication number: 20020060327
Abstract: A method for forming a metal bridge in a hetero-junction bipolar transistor. The method includes etching away a portion of the semiconductor layers under a metallic layer so that a device region and a contact pad region on the semiconductor substrate are isolated from each other. The invention not only can produce small area hetero-junction bipolar transistors with ease, the invention can also fabricate large area and small area hetero-junction bipolar transistors at the same time. By clearing away contact pad capacitance, hetero-junction bipolar transistors suitable for high frequency applications can be manufactured with a few simple steps. In addition, the metal bridge of this invention can be fabricated on a semiconductor layer, which can serve as a support for increasing the strength of the metal bridge.

  • Patent number: RE37576
Abstract: A motor with positive torque parking positions. The motor includes a rotor which is rotatable about an axis of rotation and a stator in magnetic coupling relation with the rotor. The stator includes a plurality of teeth each having a radially extending shaft and an axially extending face. The faces of the stator teeth define an aperture for receiving the rotor and the faces of the stator teeth and the rotor define a air gap therebetween. Each stator tooth has a notch in its face that is approximately at least as wide as the shaft of the stator tooth so that the stator has a magnetic configuration relative to the rotor for parking the rotor in a rest position corresponding to a positive torque starting position. The motor also includes a winding on the shafts of the stator teeth and a control circuit for controlling current in the winding whereby an electromagnetic field is produced for rotating the rotor at a desired speed or torque during the operation of the motor.
