    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for searching for satellite signals are provided. One of the proposed methods of searching for satellite signals includes: searching for satellite signals according to measurement predictions; searching for satellite signals of a reference satellite without referring to the measurement predictions; determining if measurements derived from the reference satellite are consistent with the measurement predictions; and searching for satellite signals of other satellites without referring to the measurement predictions if the measurements derived from the reference satellite are determined to be inconsistent with the measurement predictions. If the measurements derived from the reference satellite are determined to be inconsistent with the measurement predictions, navigation information for use in the generation of the measurement predictions is determined to be stale.

    Abstract: The method includes: associating different cell phones to different enciphering and deciphering keys of an asymmetric encryption algorithm. Access information of the network lock corresponding to the cell phone is enciphered by the corresponding enciphering key. Then, the enciphered network lock is stored in the cell phone, and the corresponding deciphering key is recorded in an inerasable memory of the cell phone. The original plaintext access information of the network lock and the enciphering key is stored only in a service provider of the communication network. When the cell phone tries to access the communication network, it deciphers the enciphered network lock using the deciphering key stored in the inerasable memory to verify the network lock of the cell phone.

    Abstract: A position system for interactive gaming device has a main apparatus and a wireless controller. The main apparatus has a first ultrasonic receiving module, a second ultrasonic receiving module and a third ultrasonic receiving module. The three ultrasonic receiving modules are arranged as a triangle shape. The wireless controller has an ultrasonic transmitting module. The ultrasonic transmitting module of the wireless controller sends an ultrasonic wave which is received by the ultrasonic receiving modules in order to obtain three ultrasonic wave transmission times. The main apparatus calculates the received transmission time and therefore recognizes the position of the wireless controller. When the wireless controller is moved, the main apparatus obtains a plurality of coordinate values indicating the motion track of the wireless controller. In this case, an electronic device shows the movement of the wireless controller on a display device by monitoring the coordinate values.

The slicing step divides a swatch of data to be printed and required by each motor movement into a plurality of slices, each having m bits to represent printed pixels and further divided into n segments, where m, n are integers. The compressing step uses an inter-slice compression to represent an (i+1)-th slice of data on a basis of an i-th slice of data for generating a compressed (i+1)-th slice of data and an (i+1)-th control character. The decompressing step uses an inter-slice decompression with respect to the inter-slice compression to restore the (i+1)-th slice of data from the compressed (i+1)-th slice of data for further printing.
