  • Publication number: 20070154625
Abstract: A method activates the electron emission surface of a field emission display. After an un-activated cathode plate is manufactured, a protective layer is formed by coating a solvent to one face of the electron emission source layer. A coating is applied to the protective layer to form a covering layer on the surface of the electron emission source layer. The covering layer is cured and then a mold-releasing cylinder is used to release the dried film. The surface of the electron emission source layer can be uniformly activated. The electron emission source layer is then baked again to remove the remaining solvent.

  • Patent number: 7238077
Abstract: A tetraode field-emission display and a method of fabricating the same are disclosed. A mesh is disposed between an anode plate and a cathode plate. The mesh has a gate layer and a converging electrode layer separated by an insulation layer to form a sandwich structure. The mesh has a plurality of apertures in correspondence with each set of anode and cathode. A glass plate is placed between the mesh and the anode to serve as a spacer. The converging electrode layer is facing the anode plate, such that the divergent range of an electron beam emitted by an electron emission source can be restricted. Thereby, the electron beam can impinge the corresponding anode more precisely.

  • Publication number: 20070150113
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system of energy-efficient and constant-pressure parallel-coupled fluid-transport machines, which can flexibly and massively provide gas and water to every fabrication unit. The system of the present invention comprises: variable-frequency centrifugal fluid-transport machines, pressure gauges, power meters, flow meters, and controllers. The performance curves of the abovementioned system of parallel-coupled fluid-transport machines and the system impedance curves of the loads are analyzed theoretically and built in the controllers together with the equal-efficiency curves provided by the manufacturer. When the system is operating, the data detected by the pressure gauges, power meters, and flow meters are compared with the built-in data to obtain the optimal energy-efficient conditions as the operational criteria of the system of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20070147694
Abstract: A block decoding method and apparatus capable of decoding and outputting data in a longitudinal direction, which scans a compressed datastream and accordingly obtains a start address in the compressed datastream for each MCUR of a decompressed image, such that the apparatus can obtain blocks rotated with 90 degrees by performing a Huffman decoding in a longitudinal direction, a de-zigzag arrangement, an inverse quantization, an IDCT and a rotation. Since the decoding direction is identical to the output direction of a printer, only a desired column of data in the decompressed image is temporarily stored for output and accordingly the required memory size is relatively reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070116869
Abstract: This invention discloses a coating method to apply a layer of nano-particles adsorbed on submicron ceramic oxide particles, which can prevent the agglomeration of nano-particles by the effects of Brownian motion and van der Waals force. Using this method, nano-sized titania can be uniformly coated on the surface of silica. This method is conducted in an aqueous solution and able to fabricate a coating layer in a controlled thickness between 5 to tens nm. After calcination, the coated particles can be assembled to form a photonic bandgap crystal. This invention also discloses a coating method to apply a uniform nano TiO2-coating layer on the SiO2 photonic bandgap crystals.

  • Patent number: 7220159
Abstract: A method and a structure for a converging-type electron-emission source of a field-emission display are disclosed. A substrate is provided, and a silver paste is used to form a first electrode layer on the substrate by the process such as thick-film photolithography or screen-printing. A carbon nanotube is formed on the first electrode layer by thick-film photolithography or screen-printing, and a second electrode is formed on the carbon nanotube. A third electrode layer is formed on the first electrode layer around the second electrode layer by thick-film photolithography or screen-printing. The third electrode layer is higher than the second electrode layer, such that a converging exit is formed around the second electrode layer. A sintering step is performed. When the electron beam is generated, the electron beam is concentrated at the center of the converging exit to impinge a phosphor layer of an anode without causing gamut.

Each stacked layer comprises lower energy bandgap well 4 and higher energy bandgap barrier layer 3 wherein at least one stacked layer in the device contains nanoparticles. As a result, the emitting wavelengths of the multi-stacked active layer structure consist parts (or all) of the emitting wavelengths come from the stack layers containing nanoparticles, and parts (or all) of the emitting wavelengths come from the stack layers not containing nanoparticles. In another embodiment, parts (or all) of the emitting wavelengths of the multi-stacked active layer structure can be also used to trigger one or more phosphorescences from the phosphors, thus the emitting wavelengths of such a phosphors converted light emitting device may come partially from the multi-stacked active layer itself and partially (or all) from the phosphors.

  • Patent number: 7213899
Abstract: A memory use and management method and system for a multi-pass printer. The system has a band buffer, a band buffer manager and a print engine. The band buffer receives and masks an input data, and stores masked data resulting from masking the input data. The band buffer manager is connected to the band buffer in order to start to print the masked data as the band buffer stores an amount of one complete print pass for a printhead of the printer. The print engine has the printhead and is connected to the band buffer such that the print engine receives the masked data from the band buffer and prints it by the printhead. Data amount stored in the band buffer can be represented by an equation, [(1+2+3+ . . . +j+j)/(i*j)]*S, where j indicates partitioned number of one complete print, and S indicates data amount required by one complete print.
