  • Publication number: 20050225461
Abstract: A pipeline ADC includes a pipeline structure having a plurality of analog-to-digital converting units cascaded in series; and a correcting unit coupled to the pipeline structure for correcting an output value of the pipeline structure according to a set of calibration constants. One of the analog-to-digital converting units contains a capacitor switching circuit. During error measurement of the pipeline ADC, the capacitor switching circuit switches to change capacitance allocation of the analog-to-digital converting unit so as to obtain the set of calibration constants.

  • Publication number: 20050218116
Abstract: A process for reducing the formation of potential device-contaminating particles in a process chamber, particularly an etch chamber or a pre-clean chamber used to pre-clean substrates prior to a PVD or other process. The process chamber conventionally includes multiple antennae, the purpose of which is to conduct bias power from a bias power source to a substrate supported on a pedestal assembly. According to the process of the invention, the antennae are removed from the pedestal assembly. Accordingly, the antennae, no longer present in the chamber during substrate processing, are capable of neither generating potential device-contaminating particles nor causing electrical arcing between the pedestal assembly and the chamber wall or other elements in the process chamber, leading to operational power loss.

  • Publication number: 20050132549
Abstract: A method for making metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitors having insulators with high-dielectric-constant and sandwiched between wide-band-gap insulators resulting in low leakage currents and high capacitance per unit area is achieved. The high-k layer increases the capacitance per unit area for next generation mixed-signal devices while the wide-band-gap insulators reduce leakage currents. In a second embodiment, a multilayer of different high-k materials is formed between the wide-band-gap insulators to substantially increase the capacitance per unit area. The layer materials and thicknesses are optimized to reduce the nonlinear capacitance dependence on voltage.

  • Patent number: 6890595
Abstract: A method for coating low viscosity materials onto a wafer to form a uniform film. After a wafer is rotated at a first rotation speed, coating solution is dispensed onto the wafer. The wafer is decelerated to a second rotation speed at a first deceleration rate to spread the coating solution. Next, the wafer is slowly decelerated to a third rotation speed at a second deceleration rate considerably lower than the first deceleration rate, so the coating solution reflows to the center of the wafer. The wafer is then quickly accelerated to a fourth rotation speed at a third acceleration rate larger than the first deceleration rate to spread the coating solution again.

  • Publication number: 20050093815
Abstract: According to the brightness distribution of a previous frame, the driving current of the backlight module dynamically varies. When the concentration of the brightness distribution is toward high brightness, the backlight module increases its luminous intensity. On the contrary, when the concentration of the brightness distribution is toward low brightness, the backlight module decreases its luminous intensity. We can set the luminous modulation period of the backlight module to be synchronized with a vertical scanning period or several vertical scanning periods.
