The device includes a controller for controlling a whole operation; an interface for receiving an image signal; a micro display for receiving the image signal from the interface; and an optical system for receiving the image signal from the micro display, and magnifying the received image signal. The micro display is provided in a position not consistent with an optical axis, at an upper side or a lower side of the optical axis of the optical system. The optical system includes a lens only partially provided by half or more with respect to the optical axis, in front of the micro display; and a mirror only partially provided by half or more corresponding to an opposite side of the lens with respect to the optical axis.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating a plurality of application included in a broadcasting service and a method and apparatus for selecting an application easily processed by a broadcasting receiving apparatus among the plurality of applications and executing or storing the selected application are provided. The application generating and signaling apparatus includes: an application generator generating a plurality of applications selectively executed by a broadcasting receiving apparatus and information on each of the plurality of applications; and an application transmitter signaling the plurality of applications and the information on each of the plurality of applications, wherein the information on each of the plurality of applications comprises information on the broadcasting receiving apparatus that executes a corresponding application, and information on the characteristics of the corresponding application.

Abstract: In a plasma display device, a driver circuit and a method of driving that reduces costs by eliminating the need for high voltage transistors. A first terminal of an inductor is coupled to a plurality of first electrodes. A first terminal of a first capacitor is coupled to the first terminal of the inductor, a second terminal of the first capacitor is coupled to the plurality of first electrodes, a first terminal of a second capacitor is coupled to the first terminal of the inductor, and a second terminal of the second capacitor is coupled to the plurality of first electrodes. In addition, a resonance path for varying a voltage at the plurality of first electrodes is formed between a node of the first and second capacitors and the plurality of first electrodes.

Abstract: A method of recording writing speed information and per writing speed write strategy information within disc control information is provided. The standardized disc control information can be uniformly applied to efficiently cope with the record/playback of the optical disc. In configuring disc control information within a management area of an optical disc including at least one recording layer, the method includes steps of providing the at least one disc control information within the management area, the disc control information provided per applicable writing speed to each of the at least one recording layer; and recording applicable recording speed information within the disc control information.

Abstract: A method for the preparation of water-soluble chitosan with high purity and biological activity includes steps of: reacting chitosan oligo sugar acid salt, covalently bonded to an organic or inorganic acid, with trialkylamine in phosphate buffered saline followed by addition of an organic solvent to remove acid salt at C-2 position; adding the thus obtained reaction mixture to an inorganic acid to remove trialkylamine salt at C-6 position; and passing the thus obtained free amine chitosan through an activated carbon/ion exchange resin. The free amine chitosan is water-soluble and has a high bioavailability for application to the medicine and food industries.

One among at least two intermediate frequency (IF) signals is selected for the adjustment of the frequency of the LO signals, and a second signal group, which comprises the selected IF signal and a signal at a predetermined phase difference with respect to the selected IF signal, is generated. Two mixed signals are generated from the first and the second signal groups, the mixed signals being mixed without overlap, and a reference signal is generated by adding the two generated signals.

Abstract: A method for controlling operation modes of a medium access control layer by a mobile subscriber station in a broadband wireless access communication system including the mobile subscriber station and a serving base station providing service to the mobile subscriber station is provided. The method includes the steps of: mode-transiting into an idle mode when there is no data transmission between the serving base station and the mobile subscriber station during a predetermined first time interval in an awake mode; detecting movement of the mobile subscriber station in the idle mode into another paging zone covering a target base station, which is different from a paging zone covering the serving base station; and mode-transiting into the awake mode and performing location update together with the target base station when the movement of the mobile subscriber station is detected.

Abstract: Disclosed is an adaptive receiving MIMO (multi input and multi output) system and method which decides a symbol detecting order so as to estimate the symbol having the minimum summation of weights of least square errors at the time of estimating the symbol for respective equalizers provided in parallel by the number of transmit antennas, and updates filter tap coefficients based on the RLS algorithm according to the detecting orders. Therefore, the filter tap coefficients are directly updated without tracking channels in the time-varying channel environment, and accordingly, detection performance very similar to those of the channel tracking and conventional V-BLAST scheme is provided with reduced complexity.

The present invention checks validity of resource information inputted from an operator if packet call fixed routing is requested by the operator and designates the resource as the resource for packet call fixed routing by transmitting resource information inputted from the operator to a processor that processes the call and a processor that administrates if the relevant resource is valid. The present invention makes it possible to set up a fixed route appropriate for the packet call satisfying Section 23.060 of the 3GPP standard by performing call setup using the resource designated for packet call fixed routing if packet call setup is requested by the operator.

A card reader demodulates the signal received from the IC card in the manner of QAM. The rate of the data signal transmitted from the IC card to the card reader is improved.
