  • Publication number: 20080074052
Abstract: Provided are a green phosphor for a plasma display panel (PDP) represented by Formula 1 and a PDP including a phosphor layer formed of the same: (Y1-x-yGdx)Al3(BO3)4:TbyFormula 1 where 0?x<1, 0<y<1 and 0<x+y<1. The luminance saturation characteristic of a green phosphor layer can be improved using the green phosphor for a PDP according to the present embodiments, and the green phosphor can also be mixed with conventionally used green phosphors. Image quality can be improved according to a mixing rate of the green phosphor and conventionally used green phosphors since color reproduction range widens and luminance does not decrease compared to using the conventional green phosphors.

  • Publication number: 20080073193
Abstract: A detect switch (100) includes an insulative housing (2), a first, a second, a third and a fourth fixed terminals (11, 12, 13, 14), a moveable contact (3) electrically connecting with the third and the fourth fixed terminals, a driving mechanism depressing the moveable contact. The moveable contact has four periphery contact portions (32) each formed with a protrusion (33). One of the protrusions resists against the third fixed terminal in assembly. When the moveable contact is depressed to have a central contact portion (31) thereof contact with the first fixed terminal, the periphery contact portions tilt upwardly to leave away from corresponding fixed terminals for insulating the third and the fourth fixed terminals. The third and first fixed terminals are thereby electrically connected due to an engagement among the moveable contact and themselves.

  • Publication number: 20080075885
Abstract: Method of controlling the morphology of self-assembled monolayers (SAMS) on substrates having hydrophilic surfaces. The hydrophilic surface is exposed to a fluid having a mixture of molecules which can self-assemble on the hydrophilic surface and hydrophobic molecules for a sufficient length of time so that the molecules which can self-assemble on the hydrophilic surface form a complete self-assembled monolayer. In a particular embodiment octadecylphosphonic acid (OPA) molecules have been self-assembled on oxidized substrates including but not limited to mica, silicon, sapphire, quartz and aluminum by spin-coating a solution containing the octadecylphosphonic acid (OPA) molecules and hydrophobic molecules such as chloroform or trichloroethylene under a controlled relative humidity. Control of the morphology of OPA SAMs is affected by adjusting humidity and the duration of spin-coating. Atomic force microscopy revealed that relative humidity has a profound influence on the morphology of the OPA SAMs formed.

  • Publication number: 20080074030
Abstract: A flat display panel comprising exhaust holes in a display region is provided. In the flat display panel, a front substrate comprising X and Y electrodes a rear substrate comprising an address electrode are sealed at a predetermined interval in parallel. Vacuum exhaust and gas discharge are performed on a space between the sealed substrates through the exhaust holes in the display area, thereby reducing a non-radiation area of the panel to less than 1 mm. As a result, the flat display panel is effective in formation of an indefinite extension multi-PDP because a seam between the panels is removed when a multi-PDP comprising a plurality of panels is formed.

  • Publication number: 20080075843
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a phase-change memory unit, a lower electrode electrically connected to a contact region is formed on a substrate. A preliminary phase-change material layer is formed on the lower electrode using a chalcogenide compound doped with carbon, or carbon and nitrogen. A phase-change material layer is obtained by doping a stabilizing metal into the preliminary phase-change material layer. An upper electrode is formed on the phase-change material layer. Since the phase-change material layer may have improved electrical characteristics, stability of phase transition and thermal stability, the phase-change memory unit may have reduced set resistance, enhanced durability, improved reliability, increased sensing margin, reduced driving current, etc.

  • Patent number: 7347630
Abstract: The invention provides a “floating” port assembly of a receptacle of a transceiver. The configuration allows the transmitter port assembly to float conically (e.g., angularly from side to side and up and down) relative to the axial direction of the receptacle sleeve inside of the receptacle when a mechanical load placed on an optical fiber cable connected to the receptacle is transferred to the sleeve of the port assembly. The port assembly has a spring-return mechanism that biases the assembly such that it returns to its original center position when the load is removed. This floating isolates the ferrule of the optical fiber cable and the sleeve of the receptacle from external loadings transmitted via the fiber optic cable. Isolating the ferrule and the sleeve from the external loading dramatically reduces the effects of these external wiggle loads on the optical performance of the transmitter of the transceiver.

The nonvolatile memory device includes an array of nonvolatile memory cells and a control circuit, which is electrically coupled to the array of nonvolatile memory cells. The control circuit is configured to perform a plurality of memory programming operations (P) by driving a selected word line in the array with a first stair step sequence of program voltages having first step height (e.g.

  • Patent number: 7347290
Abstract: An energizer for a mechanical seal assembly for use in a drill bit is disclosed. The energizer is a composite of at least two resilient materials, one having a durometer hardness that is greater than the other. The material contacting a journal provides relatively high frictional forces so as to prevent the energizer from rotating in relation to adjacent components. The relatively softer resilient material provides the energizing force necessary to maintain a good dynamic seal between the metal seal rings. The energizer components may be separate components that engage one another upon assembly, or may be bonded together to form a ring prior to assembly into the drill bit.

  • Patent number: 7349306
Abstract: An optical recording medium allowing data to be recorded on, erased from, and reproduced from, and storing information about power levels of an erase pulse. The recorded erase pattern information may include information about power levels of first and last pulses of an erase pattern for erasing data. The first and last pulses of the erase pattern can be differently set depending on the differing kind of recording layer or layers of a disk or differing kinds of disks and recorded in a reproducible only area or rewritable area of the optical recording medium. Thus, by presetting the appropriate erase power levels, the time required for selecting an optimal erase power for the optical recording medium can be considerably reduced.
