    Abstract: An apparatus is invented for implementing adaptive routing in packet switched networks. The hardware structure of the apparatus is based on the AntNet, which is an adaptive routing algorithm for selecting an optimized network route using a mobile agent that simulates an ant. The AntNet-based hardware structure can be applied to a system-on-chip system. The original AntNet algorithm is adapted for hardware implementation. Performance of the modified algorithm of the invention was verified by comparing the modified algorithm with the original AntNet algorithm in a virtual network structure. The hardware structure of the invention is effective for AntNet-based routing.

    Abstract: An example embodiment for a method of fabrication of a semiconductor device comprises the following. We provide a substrate with a first device region and a second device region. We provide a first type FET transistor in the first device region and provide a second type FET transistor in the second device region. We form an etch stop layer over the first and second device regions and forming a first stressor layer over the first device region. The first stressor layer puts a first type stress on the substrate in the first device region. We form a second stressor layer over the second device region. The second stressor layer puts a second type stress on the substrate in the second device region. Another example embodiment is the structure of a dual stress layer device having an etch stop layer.

    Abstract: An ADIP (address in pre-groove) signal detection circuit is capable of correctly and quickly detecting discontinuous points in a wobble signal, and has a simple configuration in a wobble detection system of an optical disc device such as a DVD+R/RW, and an ADIP signal detection method thereof. The ADIP signal detection circuit performing the ADIP signal detection method includes one or two window comparators, two edge detection circuits each consisting of an exclusive OR circuit and an AND circuit, and two discontinuous point determination circuits each consisting of a flip-flop and a counter. Therefore, the ADIP signal detection circuit has a simple configuration so that it can be easily implemented. Also, since the ADIP signal detection circuit has a fast operation speed, the ADIP signal detection circuit detects discontinuous points correctly and quickly.

The pulse generating unit generating an increasing sawtooth wave pulse may have a relatively simple circuit configuration relative to that of the pulse generating unit generating a decreasing sawtooth wave pulse, thereby reducing manufacturing costs.

In some embodiments, the gate electrode is configured to support current flow through the active region along a first direction, and a tensile stress layer covers the gate electrode and is configured to apply a tensile stress to the gate electrode along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The tensile stress layer may cover the recessed isolation region and portions of the active region between the isolation region and the gate electrode. In further embodiments, an interlayer insulating film is disposed on the tensile stress layer and is configured to apply a tensile stress to the gate electrode along the second direction.
