  • Publication number: 20130103595
Abstract: Automated valuation model with customizable neighborhood determination, including spatial exclusion conditions. A map image is displayed corresponding to a geographical area, and then user input accommodates definition of a particularly defined geographic area to provide custom identification of a neighborhood to be subject to automated valuation. Once the defined geographic area is established, the automated valuation model is applied to property data corresponding to properties within the defined geographic area. A subject property and corresponding properties within the defined geographic area are then displayed on a map image, preferably with articulation of the defined geographic area as the neighborhood of interest. The neighborhood may be defined by, among other criteria, inclusion within a user-defined shape, as well as exclusion of a user-defined shape from a displayed geographic area.

  • Publication number: 20130079542
Abstract: A preparation of aryl carbamates can be achieved readily by carbonylation of an aromatic polyamine compound with diphenyl carbonate (DPC) using a combination of an organic acid and a tertiary amine as a catalyst. Aryl carbamate can be converted into 4,4?-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) by heating it at about 200 to about 230° C. in a non-polar solvent containing inhibitor such as benzoyl chloride. In another application, trans-ureation of biscarbamates with an amine or mixed amines is found to be extremely facile in a polar solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and tetramethylene sulfone (TMS) in absence of any catalyst to make polyurea polymers of high molecular weights. Thus, efficient green-chemistry processes based on biscarbamates in making isocyanate products as well as urea prepolymers, urea elastomers and urea plastics have been developed in all in excellent yields without using reactive phosgene or 4,4?-diphenylmethane diisocyanate separately in the trans-ureation polymerizations.

  • Publication number: 20130037993
Abstract: An additive manufacturing system and process are described. In one example of the invention, a fiber optic cable connected with an ultraviolet (UV) LED and related lens forms an accumulation tool. The cable is then merged inside a tank filled with liquid resin that is UV-curable. By controlling the on/off state of the UV-LED and the multi-axis motion of the cable, a physical model, having a desired shape, can be built by selectively curing liquid resin into solid.

  • Patent number: 8330549
Abstract: An oscillator circuit with a voltage booster includes separated coils to oscillate and boost the input direct current voltage. The two coils are wound in opposite directs and magnetically coupled to one another. One of the coils is in series with a capacitor to form a LC oscillator. The circuit enables changing the frequency of oscillation by changing the number of turns on the coil in series with the capacitor or by changing the value of the capacitor. The output voltage level can be changed by changing the number of turns on the remaining coil.

  • Publication number: 20120311270
Abstract: A method and apparatus for prefetching data from memory for a multicore data processor. A prefetcher issues a plurality of requests to prefetch data from a memory device to a memory cache. Consecutive cache misses are recorded in response to at least two of the plurality of requests. A time between the cache misses is determined and a timing of a further request to prefetch data from the memory device to the memory cache is altered as a function of the determined time between the two cache misses.

  • Publication number: 20120274925
Abstract: An axial light loss sensor system, and methods for measuring axial light loss with improved resolution are provided. Aspects of the present invention include an axial light loss sensor positioned along an axis of irradiation to detect axial light loss resulting from a particle passing a light source intersect in a fluid stream, and an obstruction positioned along the axis of irradiation between the light source intersect and the axial light loss sensor. The obstruction is further positioned so as to have an on-axis opaque surface. The obstruction allows for the measurement of a fringe signal in a far-field with respect to the irradiated particle, in order to measure the axial light loss produced by the particle. The systems and methods described herein find use in, for example, flow cytometery.
