  • Patent number: 7760550
Abstract: A method of reading data in a non-volatile memory device includes applying a bit line read voltage to a bit line and a selected cell read voltage to a word line, both of which are electrically connected to a selected cell located in a selected string. A first read voltage is applied to word lines electrically connected to first non-selected cells separated from the selected cell in the selected string, and a second read voltage is applied to word lines electrically connected to second non-selected cells adjacent to the selected cell in the selected string. The second read voltage is lower than the first read voltage. A pass voltage is applied to turn on a string select transistor and a ground select transistor, respectively, in the selected string. An electrical signal output from the selected string is compared with a standard signal to read data stored in the selected cell.

  • Publication number: 20100172395
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate synthesizing a single baseband waveform from digital signals related to multiple carriers. Digital signals can be received relating to a plurality of carriers. The digital signals can result from spreading data symbols from transport blocks to create chip sequences, which can additionally be pulse shaped. The digital signals can be rotated in a positive or negative direction, such as according to a complex sinusoid or a negative representation thereof. The rotated signals can be combined or added to generate a single baseband waveform. The single baseband waveform can be converted to an analog signal, which can be up-converted and centered at a plurality of frequency carriers, which can be adjacent, assigned for transmitting the signal. In addition, optimizations can be provided to ensure threshold power ratio over the plurality of carriers for effectively transmitting jointly encoded signals.

  • Publication number: 20100174171
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for measuring human intelligence using a neurobiogical model. The invention provides a method which enables neurometric IQ to be measured by processing the MRI and fMRI images of subjects to determine cortical thicknesses and brain activation levels, determining structural IQ (sIQ) and functional IQ (fIQ) from the cortical thicknesses and the brain activation levels, and using the structural IQ (sIQ) and the functional IQ (fIQ) as predictors to measure the neurometric IQ of the subject. According to the present invention, the concept of a neurometric IQ (nIQ) model is established and can assist in easily assessing individual differences in general cognitive ability. These results suggest that general cognitive ability can be explained by two different neural bases or traits: facilitation of neural circuits and accumulation of crystallized knowledge.

  • Publication number: 20100154133
Abstract: A method for controlling a washing machine includes comparing a command value of a motor with a predetermined limit value, during spin-drying, to determine whether the motor is overloaded, and controlling driving of the motor in response to the determination. It may be possible to determine a water filling state, an excessive bubble state, or a drainage error state, which may be caused during a spin-drying operation, and to take a proper measure. That is, in the drainage error state, a user is informed of the drainage error. In the water filling state, the spin-drying is normally completed by re-performing the spin-drying operation. In the excessive bubble state, a rinsing or spin-drying operation is added to remove the bubbles. When the bubbles are not removed by the added rinsing or spin-drying operation, the excessive bubble message is displayed to inform a consumer of the excessive bubble state.
