  • Publication number: 20080046834
Abstract: A facility for guiding users through a series of steps or tasks, often associated with a process, is described. The facility assigns tasks or steps to users having roles identified with the task or step. The role associated with the task or step may change depending on the state of the task or step. When the role associated with a task or step changes, the facility may assign the task or step to another user. The facility guides a user through a task or step by providing instructions and other information, such as data tables and user input fields, that may be used to complete the task or step. The facility provides for the definition of processes by allowing users to specify tasks, steps and instructions relating to processes.

  • Patent number: 7328308
Abstract: A data writing method for RAID performs at a write cycle including a first clock and a second clock, and cooperates with a first disk, a second disk, a third disk, and a memory module. The disks store a first checking data, a second data, and a second checking data. The memory module stores the second data including a third segmented data and a fourth segmented data and the first checking data stores. First step of the method is during the first clock, writing the fourth segmented data into the second disk, reading the third segmented data from the first disk, and writing the first checking data into the third disk. Then, during the second clock, the second checking data are calculated according to the third segmented data and the fourth segmented data of the second data, and the second checking data are stored in the memory module.

  • Publication number: 20080019901
Abstract: The alpha form of nickel (II) hydroxide is formed by dissolving a compound of nickel (II), such as nickel acetate, in a water miscible dihydric alcohol (diol), such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and suitable oligomers, and adding a suitable base such as sodium carbonate. The ?-Ni(OH)2 precipitate is separated from the diol-based mother liquor and dried. This stable ?-Ni(OH)2 can be calcined at temperatures in the range of about 573K to about 1073K to form nanometer-size particles of NiO having, for example, fibrous shapes. And the small particles of NiO can be reduced with hydrogen to form small, fibrous nickel particles. Both the NiO particles and Ni particles have utility as catalysts and offer utility in applications requiring electronic and/or magnetic properties.

  • Patent number: 7313651
Abstract: While performing data transfer for reading data from a source disk or disks and writing the read data to disks of a disk array, data reading is repeated until accumulated read data can be split into several sub-data with a data size of each sub-data not smaller than a write maximum. Then, these sub-data are written into the disks of the disk array. In this way, the invention can take full advantage of each writing control to write as much data as possible, and the number of writing controls can be reduced to reduce the demands on the computer system.

  • Patent number: 7274758
Abstract: An OFDM receiver has an autocorrelation circuit configured for generating an autocorrelation result from samples of received short preamble symbols in a received data packet, where the autocorrelation circuit generates each autocorrelation result based on accumulation of the samples having been received for the short preamble symbols. Hence, by using all received samples of the short preamble symbols, the autocorrelation based on accumulated samples minimizes the effect of noise and provides a more accurate coarse frequency estimation result.

  • Publication number: 20070166455
Abstract: Glycerol is used as a solvent medium for the precipitation of a complex of nickel and glycerol material. The precipitate is separated from the liquid solvent and dried and calcined in air to produce small (nanometer size) particles characterized by a nickel core encased in a nickel oxide shell. The proportions of nickel core and nickel oxide shell can be controlled by management of the time and temperature of heating in air. Prolonged heating in air can produce nickel oxide particles, or calcining of the precipitate in nitrogen produces nickel particles.

  • Publication number: 20070111265
Abstract: The inventors disclose a 1.95 ? crystal structure of the MR ligand binding domain containing a single C808S mutation bound to a corticosterone and the fourth LXXLL motif of steroid receptor coactivator-1 (SRC1-4). The inventors demonstrate that SRC1-4 is the most potent MR-binding motif and mutations that disrupt the MR/SRC1-4 interactions abolish the ability of the full-length SRC1 to coactivate MR. The structure also reveals a compact steroid binding pocket with a unique topology that is primarily defined by key residues of helices 6 and 7. Also described are novel ligands for MR, methods for screening for and designing novel MR ligands, and methods for treating MR-related diseases.
