  • Publication number: 20010046558
Abstract: A method of fabricating polycrystalline thin films based on IIA-group, IIIA-group, IVA-group, transition, or inner-transition metal sulfides or selenides by surface reaction and vapor phase reaction by using coordination metal compounds, adducted with neutral ligands and H2Z (Z=S, Se) as precursors. The present invention also discloses a method of fabricating metal oxide polycrystalline thin films based on IIA-group, IIIA-group, IVA-group, transition, or inner-transition metal oxides by surface reaction and vapor phase reaction by using coordination metal compounds, adducted with neutral ligands as one of precursors. Main object of the present invention is to provide a method of fabricating high quality EL device using the above technique.

  • Publication number: 20010008425
Abstract: The present invention relates to an interpolation technology, in particular to a deinterlacing apparatus and a method thereof which is capable of improving definition of a picture by detecting an edge direction comprised in perimeter pixel values with inputs of a pixel value of field data in a field region to be interpolated and intra-field perimeter pixel values, detecting a direction indicating a minimum region matching error in accordance with the detected direction, yielding an intra-field interpolation value in accordance with the detected edge direction and performing an interpolation, and reducing manufacture cost of a circuit by simplifying the circuit.

  • Patent number: 6118489
Abstract: The device includes a data storage unit for storing a video signal in three field data units, a first pattern detecting unit for detecting a pattern of a data level of at least one pixel value in first field data, and a second pattern detecting unit for detecting a pattern of a data level of at least one pixel value in third field data, which is two fields prior to the first field data. The pixel in the third field data corresponding to the pixel value in the first field data. A difference signal detecting unit obtains a difference signal between the pixel in the first field data and the pixel in the third field data, and a difference signal between the patterns detected in the first pattern detecting unit and the second pattern detecting unit. A motion signal generating unit obtains a motion extent signal used to interpolate a pixel in the second field data based on the difference signals detected in the difference signal detecting unit.

  • Patent number: 6110528
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the preparation of fine hollow glass spheres coated with titanium dioxide from particles of a volcanic vitreous deposit sand occurring in nature. The method comprises the steps of: (a) dispersing the starting particles in an aqueous medium containing hydrogen chloride (or sulfuric acid) and titanium chloride (or titanium sulfate); (b) admixing the aqueous dispersion of the particles with an aqueous alkaline solution such as a solution of ammonium hydrogencarbonate to effect hydrolysis of the titanium chloride (or sulfate) into hydrous titanium oxide forming a coating layer on the particles; and (c) subjecting the particles coated with hydrous titanium oxide to a heat treatment for expansion of the vitreous particles into hollow glass spheres with simultaneous conversion of the hydrous titanium oxide into titanium dioxide forming a coating layer on the hollow glass spheres.

  • Patent number: 6072407
Abstract: A variable message traffic signal lamp comprising a single (LED) imbedded face, capable of displaying appropriate signal lights, symbols, or even character messages on the face, thus simplifying the design and the structure of the traffic signal head set so that fabrication and installation costs of traffic signal lights are reduced, and reducing power consumption and maintenance costs through the use of LED's, and displaying messages including not only the conventional traffic signal lights but also the progression of the signal phase in display so that one can predict the change of the current phase and prepare for it.

  • Patent number: 5072938
Abstract: A game or practice ball is disclosed having a rotation produced by an internal mechanism to cause the ball to curve dramatically when thrown. The ball has a substantially spherical shell. An axle is located diametrically within, and is connected to, the shell. An inertial reference mass in the form of a sphere is located within the shell and is rotatably mounted on the axle. A user released drive means is coupled to the inner sphere and outer shell for rotating the outer shell relative to the inner sphere and portions of the drive so as to impart spin to the shell when the ball is thrown.
