  • Publication number: 20050140421
Abstract: In a level shifter, first and second PMOS transistors are connected in series between first and second power sources for supplying first high level and low level voltages, respectively, and a capacitor is formed between a contact point of the first and second transistors and the second transistor's gate. A third PMOS transistor is diode-connected and connected between the first and second transistors' gates. When a second low level voltage is input to the first transistor's gate, a second high level voltage is output to the contact point according to an on resistance ratio of the first and second transistors. When a first high level voltage is input to the first transistor's gate, the second transistor is bootstrapped according to the voltage charged to the capacitor so that a first low level voltage is substantially output to the contact point.

  • Publication number: 20050140602
Abstract: Disclosed is a light emitting display device which provides a light emitting element for controlling the brightness according to the current to each pixel, such as an organic electroluminescent element, and a driving method thereof. The light emitting display device comprises transistors for forming a current mirror, and a pixel structure having first and second scan lines. A time to deselect the second scan signal that is supplied to the second scan line for writing display information on the pixel is earlier than a time to deselect the first scan signal that is supplied to the first scan line for selecting the pixel. As a result, reduction of brightness according to delay of the scan signal is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20050140604
Abstract: A pixel circuit of a display device for improving an opening ratio and a contrast ratio of emitting devices by sharing a driving circuit and sequentially emitting the emitting devices. A data charging period and an emitting period of the emitting devices are divided to prevent flow of wrong data current while data is being stored. The pixel circuit includes red, green, and blue emitting devices and a sequential controller sequentially controlling emission of the emitting devices for a certain sub-frame of a frame. A driving device is coupled to the emitting devices for transmitting driving signals to the emitting devices. A compensation circuit outputs voltage for compensating a threshold voltage of the driving device. The sequential controller controls the emitting devices so that the emitting devices are emitted only for a particular period of time of the subframe.

  • Publication number: 20050140666
Abstract: Disclosed is a display device using a demultiplexer. The demultiplexer sequentially samples data currents that are multiplexed and applied by a data driver, and holds currents corresponding to the sampled data currents to a plurality of data lines. Since the demultiplexer is to sample the data currents corresponding to N data lines during a horizontal period when performing 1:N demultiplexing, the data current corresponding to one data line is to be sampled during a 1/N horizontal period. A signal line coupled between the demultiplexer and the data driver is precharged with a precharge current before sampling the data current. According to one embodiment, the precharge current is M times the data current, where M is a real number greater than 1.

  • Publication number: 20050117410
Abstract: In a display device using a demultiplexer, two power cables for transmitting external power supply voltages to a display device are formed on the top and the bottom of a substrate, and are coupled to both ends of vertical lines for transmitting power supply voltages to pixels in the display area. Power supply points are respectively formed on both ends of the two power cables and receive external power supply voltages. Accordingly, voltage dropping generated in the vertical lines and the power cables is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050110721
Abstract: A light emitting display device including data lines, signal lines, pixel circuits, a data driver, and a precharger. Each pixel circuit includes a first switch, a transistor, a capacitor, and a light emitting element. The precharger supplies a precharge current of X times a data current to a corresponding data line in response to a control signal. When the first switch transmits the data current provided from the corresponding data line in response to a first level scan signal while the corresponding data line is precharged, a voltage corresponding to the data current is charged in the capacitor. A current corresponding to the charged voltage is supplied to the light emitting element through the transistor in response to a second level scan signal, and the light emitting element emits light.
